We are sorry we didn't update the information for a long time.
Due to the uncertainty of crypto currency industry, to lower down the risk, we adjusted our strategy. We suspended our retail market, and focus on our VIP customers and the data center setup by ourselves. Because retail market need a bigger team to provide marketing, sales, customer service and technical support etc. It means the higher operating costs.
We are very happy to announce that our new batch will be ready at the end of Nov. The most machines are already booked out, only left very limit amount of machines. We suspend the plan to add machines in our farm, and now open the remaining batch for sale,  the price will be $1150 for each, and only accept 100+ order. it will be ready to ship at the end of Nov.

P.S.
We already added new wafer order, now we accept the booking for chips and miners.
SF3301: qty:2000+ , $25 per chip, the greater the number of the more discount
(We already open source our miner spec, please find it from https://github.com/sfards)

SF100(or same hashrate, new model): $1050 per miner, qty from 100+

Shipping date: Jan, 2016

Thanks for update.  I had a feeling it went to internal mining.  Did not think I would ever know if true.

Nice to see you are transparent now about mining them yourself.   Will these be new machines or are you selling machines that have been used in data center?

We will ship the truly new machines. If we will sell used machines, we will state clearly. Smiley

Update 2/11/2015

SF100, the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner is accepting pre-order now

Sfards, the only mining company has received venture capital investment, now announces that its Sha-256 and Script dual mining chip, using FD-SOI technology, is successfully taped-out and has been massively produced in the second quarter of 2015. It’s the only 28nm multi-algorithm chip, supports both Bitcoin and Litecoin (or other crypto currency using script).

Our SF100 miner (with 24 SF3301 chips) has already accomplished scale deployment and sales to big miners and investors. It achieves 1.7THS BTC hashing power (with 720w power consumption), 54MHS LTC (with 250w, power consumption), in total 960w power consumption at wall (based on test with 90% conversion rate power supply unit).

The Script hashing power of SF3301 is one-of-the-kind in global market. Its litecoin return is 3-5 times of its bitcoin return. Using SF100, Investors can have return on two coins at the same time, the feature is very beneficial, especially when litecoin hashing power increasing rate is very low and stable, and next halving is going to be 4 years later, which means by investing SF100, miners and have shorter ROI and longer shelf time.

Sfards has noticed that recent market of crypto currency has been much more dynamic, therefore, we have placed more chips order from foundry.
Sfards now accepts pre-order of chips and miners from global investors, delivery time is January, 2016.
We also have limited amount of chips and miners in stock, please contact us for details, thanks.

I am afraid we don’t have any order paid via BTC in the first batch. And also checked our Skype contacts still didn’t find your name.
Who you are talking with and where did you place your order?
Since there are lots of people are cheating by using our name. I'm worried you might get cheated by a faker. Please contact us and we will help you to find it out ASAP.

Please Be Careful
We only have one official SFARDS Skype account sfardsservice. If there is any other similar account such as sfardsservice [ASIC market] contacting you. Don’t listen to them and please double check the account you have talk with and make sure you add the right one.

SF100 - the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner is getting into mass production

In Crypto currency mining history, there used to be a unique type of sha-256 and scrypt dual-mode miner, which are famous Gridseed 5-chip USB miner and G-Blade miner.  The dual-mode miners accomplished huge success in 2014. Even now, there are still quite a lot of 5-chip USB miners and G-Blades running all over the world.

With the experience of developing dual-mode chip and miner manufacturing  succeeded from Gridseed, Sfards Technology has successfully developed and produced the first FD-SOI 28nm SHA-256 (Bitcoin) and Scrypt ( Litecoin ) dual-mode mining chip SF3301, in massive scale. After more than one month evaluating, prototyping, and extreme-condition pressure testing, the first 28nm dual-mode miner, SF100, is about to be produced massively.

http://i61.tinypic.com/20rjviu.jpg
SF100 dual-mode miner has 24 SF3301 chips, with the running modes as following:

  • Dual mining mode, Bitcoin hashing power 1700 GHS + Litecoin hashing power 47 MHS, the power consumption at wall of whole miner is 960W.
  • Bitcoin single mining mode: Hashing power 1700 GHS, power consumption 770W.
  • Litecoin single mining mode: Hashing power 47 MHS, power consumption 180W.

With 0.45W/GHS + 3.8W/MHS, the power efficiency of SF100 is by far the best in the market. It is also possible to overclock to certain extent (Sha-256: 2T, Scrypt: 55M).

The unique ability of dual-mode mining makes SF100 the best choice of mining community. It offers more choices to dig potentials not only of bitcoin, but also of litecoin and other altcoins. For fiat currency investors, dual-mode is good for them because SF100 maximizes their profits; for bitcoin“fundamentalists”, it’s also preferable since the altcoin revenue helps them to cover the power cost of mining bitcoin.

Based on recent bitcoin and litecoin price, a dual-mode SF100’s revenue equals to a 2.8-3.2T pure bitcoin miner, which makes it 0.3-0.34W/GHS power efficiency. (Take June 19th price for instance, one SF100 generates 4.2 USD from bitcoin and 3.8 USD from Litecoin, in total 8 USD per day).

Sfards Technology will be selling SF100 to public on July, the first batch quantity is limited. The SF3301 chip will be available for sale on August.

Results of “Speaking IMHO”- The Best Miner is…Contest

Gentlemen and gentlemen, thank you so so so much for your enthusiastic participation and brilliant inspiration!
It is a little pity that in the second day of the contest, the thread was moved to a “Right”section. Many of you don't even have the chance to see it, not to mention bringing any great ideas. Sad
But we still inspired by many amazing ideas over hundreds replies!
In the process of selecting awards, you know your wonderful thoughts brought us a fierce debate. It was a tough call. Ladies from marketing loved the strange and creative ideas, which might represents future Miner and potential of Mining industry. R&D team of course paid more attention to technical feasibility and practicability. After several rounds of deadlock, we finally selected the following 3 awards. Applauds to the winners!

1.The Most Creative Answer Reward:  1 BTC
Winner:   OgNasty        Floor No. 33#
Value: “Lava Lamp”, as soon as this idea appeared, it won our marketing girls’ hearts. Which also got positive professional comments from R&D team. Make use of the heat coming from dual mining of SF3301, it might be melting the waxes in the Lava Lamp!

2.The Most “Controversial” Design Award:  100 LTC
Winner:   erre        Floor No. 39#

Thank you so so so much for your enthusiastic participation. On the first day of our contest online, we have seen a lot of excellent product concept, some fit for family mining, some fit for big scale farm mining, and there are still some realistic proposal such as a little device of bitcoin full node(Like BITSEED); In addition, we also find some interesting conceptual products such as Tumble dryer, Lava Lamp, ocean wave create electricity miner, hashing the power wasted at your local gym and etc.

We hope more and more people comment on each other's ideas to add details of the products and even to make the ideas can be really developed.

Base on these, we decided to add an special award. You can quote an idea which you interested in and leave your comment there, we will select one critics award per day from the comments on the day, the trophy is 10LTC. Time is from today to the end of this contest, and there will be 6 Critics Awards waiting for you!

PS: Just remember, all of you guys can also join our second contest in Facebook, let your friends help you forward, and there are still a lot of rewards waiting for you!

While were are taking about the repurposing of threads in HARDWARE...

CK can you move all the Antminer / Avalon SUPPORT threads to the MINING SUPPORT section?

Since we are talking about whole threads being not really about HARDWARE anymore.
No. Without a dedicated hardware support section, it's flexible enough for hardware announcements and discussions to turn into support threads, even though there is obviously then crossover with the mining support section. Competitions have previously been problematic though and I'd rather avoid that mistake again. The mining subsections are historical in development and no longer ideal but despite discussing this many times over we've been unable to come to something where the demarcation is clear enough to warrant a respin. I'm happy to discuss it again in meta/ if you wish to.

Hey guys, we know the rules now, we will pay more attention in the next time! Wink

Better lower sample chips price, then will be more ideal miners based on your chip.
Or, better give as an estimate price of chip in bulk quantities (1000pcs+)

Sorry for that, since our first batch of sample chip with a high production cost, after mass production, be sure the price will be down a lot.
Are you developer? Welcome to join this contest and share your idea in this thread. Wink

The power boards are  probably based on something like tps40140 or ltc3829.
They could have been ordered separately. worst case, they can be used to work on other chips later.
But I expected the power supply to be built in the dev board, and price for the dev board is almost twice what I expected, so sample chips will be fine and more fun.

Anyway, my 2 chips design only needs routing to be finished.
I've been away today and will be driving back home tomorrow (9hours trip at least), so I probably won't update until Wednesday.

Sample chips price is a little bit high too, I expected something closer to 50$ each, but if price for "small batches" is right, it doesn't really matters.
Before I buy 2 or 4 of them, I'll need some more technical informations than what can be found in the partial data sheet.
I'll check tomorrow or Wednesday for what's missing.
Can I assume the chips will be sent express (dhl/FedEx) within 1 or 2 days after payment will be made?

Yes, we will ship (DHL/FedEx) within 48 hours after full payment.

Thanks for the confirmation, here are some of my questions regarding the chips:
Can we supply non symetrical voltages to body bias?
Let's say +0.8v and -1.1v
This could be an option to improve a little bit the global efficiency.

Also, can you confirm that both pairs are supposed to receive the same voltages?
BTC_VDDS0/1
BTC_GNDS0/1
I won't mix voltages, but since there are 2 pairs of pins, it could happen on different designs

What do we do with the last chip downstream UART pins?
Left open, pulled up/down?

Your schematics, with the 4.7k resistors, seems to suggest pulled up, but even the pins in use are shown with the same 4.7k resistor.
So it's not really clear which ones do need what.

What do you call "internal oscillator"
Is it an oscillator built in the SF3301, or does it refer to the on board oscillator?

And last one for now:

Will you provide the software you used to test the dev board in your github?

Sorry for my delay to response.

As for your question, please kindly find the answers below.

         1.  for non symmetrical voltages to body bias, we don't recommend it.
         2. BTC_VDDS0/1 and BTC_GDNS0/1 are all for BTC, because the BTC has 160 cores and the area is so large, we need more pad to drive them.
         3. if you have only one chip,  for DNRX, please pullup. DNTX don't need any action.
         4. internal oscillator, the SF3301 has an internal OSCILLATOR, but it need an crystal to connect XCLKIN and ZO. so if you use it, please reference the following schematic. Please note “for internal OSC”, at the same time, please connect the 2/3 of J1, make sure the OSC_BP = 0.

BTW, we will upload the software very quickly Wink
