Re: GAW Miners- THE WAR MACHINE 54MH Miner!!

I just recently had my blades stop hashing, soon after I sent an email they were back up and running correctly. I have had nothing but good experiences with GAW. The free 1MH miner I'm going to get makes me support them even more, GAW is really the best company I have dealt with.

This is what's keeping me from using the miner. I can't get rid of the http:// in front of my worker name and password.

For some reason I only see the blades as being able to "Add to Wishlist" instead of purchase them, did something change?

We are sold out at the moment Smiley

When do you expect to get some more blades? I was actually going to ask this same question.

All new Gigabyte GV-R797OC-3GD with f80 bios are like that.
I tried  to reflash it with f72 bios, but it didn't work.
And I still didn't find suitable bios for them.
I have about 680 kh/s with them at 965Mhz/1500Mhz tc 10240 with latest beta AMD drivers.

Do you think I could RMA it, or should I sell it? I am not going to use it for anything else.

I might try to use it again, but that was a lot of work when I first tried to make it get a good hash rate. What BIOS are you using with it?

Ok, I have figured out what was causing my problem. It was the new card the Gigabyte sent me. For some reason, it won't work with the F62 BIOS, which is what my other 3 cards have and I can get 730khs with. When I use this card in the same rig with the other 3, it drops the hash rate of every one. I think this card is defective. After flashing it to the F62 BIOS, I get crashes and graphical glitches. It has the same PCB as the other cards and is otherwise identical. Has anyone else heard of this happening?

I am having some problems with my 4 gigabyte OC 7970s. As I said a few months ago, I somehow got all of them to run at 730kh/s at 1040/1500 with the BIOS that came with it. Last month, one of them had a capacitor that exploded on the back of the board, so I RMAd it and got a new one yesterday. I put it in my rig and set it up like it was before my 4th card died, and now I can only get 550kh/s. I didn't change any settings going from 4 to 3 cards, so I am thinking the newer card is causing it somehow. Could it be the newer card, or what?

Did you just uninstall the driver or did you use the Driver Cleanup Utility available on the AMD Driver page? You need to use the cleanup utility before uninstalling the drivers (will uninstall them in the process) to do it correctly.

Yesterday I managed to get all of the cards to work, I just had to switch the third one to a 16x riser and connect my monitor to it. I used the 13.4 driver too.

I have a Z77A-GD55 and I can't figure out how to get 4 7970s to work on it. I was able to get 3 working without any problems. Does anyone else have this board?

I am downloading windows 8 right now and will try that, but after reading through this thread, It seems like I shouldn't need to switch from 7 to 8 with only 4 cards.

What graphics driver version are you running? What slots are you using, and are you using powered risers on the x1 slots?
I'm using 1x powered risers for all of the cards. I tried every slot combination I could, and I was using the latest driver. Right now I'm downloading the beta driver and will see if that works.

Don't use the Beta driver. Stop it and use 12.8. And are you using the x16 slots or just x1 slots? Post your mobo configuration.
I installed 12.8 instead and now CGminer just crashes after I start it.

I have a card in every other slot, so the first, third, fifth, and seventh slots are being used.

I am curious what experience others had with this particular card in terms of undervolting.

If you could be so kind to post parameters and methods (i.e., software or BIOS used), I would much appreciate.
Are you having the same problem as me where the voltage is stuck at 1.17v?

Compression fittings are the best. I used steel clamps and barbs before and had problems with the tubing being pinched.

I just got my 3 gigabyte 7970s and so far I am getting 700 khs at 1040/1500. It looks like I won't need to do a bios flash. I have been having problems getting more than one card to work at a time though. Has anyone here gotten higher than 700, or is this the limit for a 7970?

What's the worst that could happen if the bios flash doesn't work right? Will my card be dead? And I am going to have a 690 as my main card, with three 7970s for mining. Is there any way I can accidentally flash my nvidia card with the AMD drivers?

@tacotime

Thanks for developing this. I just started mining and GUIminer made it really easy. I'm using wemineltc.com. Hopefully will get the first LTC in my wallet tonight.

I'm running a 5770. GUIminer is reporting 198-200kH/s, while the pool is reporting fluctuating value from 200 to 400 kH/s, typically around 300 kH/s. Should I trust the number from GUIminer rather than what the pool website reports?

The pool's hash rate is always an estimate of your speed and not always correct, so look at your miner's speed instead.

I am getting some memory_management BSODs sometimes when using your miner, I have two reaper miners, both set to automatically start when I run it. I'm not sure if this is reaper's fault or the guiminer's though.

I have had two things causing BSODs while mining with reaper/cgminer:
1) Memory on motherboard is bad.
2) GPU is bad or seated improperly in the board/riser.

I moved my 7970 to another slot and it seems to have fixed the problem. I'm not using that card with the scrypt guiminer though. So that couldn't have been what was causing it.

Can you post some type of .log data, something?

I have some memory dump files if you want them.

I turned off my ramdisk and it seems to have fixed the problem, but I will have to let my computer run for a few more hours before I can be sure it's fixed.
