Re: Another Reason Why Bitcoin Will Go Up

Estimates aren't accurate, but if it's 11 to 37% within just 16 years, how much more for the next 20, 30, 50, 70 years?
Estimates are estimates and estimated lost bitcoins are partially not lost bitcoins. We have already witnessed many old bitcoins woke up after around 10 inactive years.

Furthermore, with time and Bitcoin growth in adoption, value and price, I believe that the Bitcoin lost rate will become smaller with time. It's naturally as people will be more careful with their practice and minimize risk of losing bitcoins. Another thing is with higher price of bitcoin, people will be able to buy less bitcoin, fraction of bitcoin, so the lost bitcoins in the future will be considerably smaller than in the past.

Estimates from on-chain analyses suggest that between 2.3 million and an incredible 7.8 million BTC (roughly between 11—37% of total supply), may have vanished forever, trapped in lost wallets, forgotten keys, or in addresses abandoned due to unexpected deaths.
It is my first time to know that about 7.8 million bitcoins possibly lost forever.

Previous reports and estimations are only about less than 4 million bitcoins lost.
3.7 million Bitcoin are probably gone forever.

You can estimate different figures for possible lost bitcoins by using different definitions on inactive years for identifying possible lost bitcoins. You can use this UTXO chart and your definitions for getting your own numbers.

Nature and Wildlife on bitcoin or cryptocurrency forum?

I think the Off Topic board is already perfect for that
Those topics are deserved to be in Off-topic board.

It will be very strange and unreasonable if topics about security and privacy are moved to Off-topic board while topics on Nature and Wildlife won't be moved there.

It is wisest to have a secure wallet, because if you accept payments in a secure wallet and want to sell it, you can of course sell it on an exchange, which will cost you a small fee. Kucoin exchange has disabled withdrawals for thousands of people, but in my opinion, it should never be used as a wallet or exchange.
Exchanges are exchanges and they are places for trading, not to hold your bitcoins or altcoins as your assets. People mostly forget about purposes of exchanges, that is trading and trading. Staking on exchanges is another big mistaken practice from people who have altcoins. By staking, they lock their altcoins on exchanges while nobody knows what will happen with those exchanges in the future, next weeks, next months or next years.

Events made you scare about custodial wallets, centralized exchanges.

It could happen, Inter Milan management could fire Chivu at any time if he fails to meet expectations. I think Inter Milan has a chance to win the Scudetto, and that's still a realistic possibility at the moment. However, I doubt they'll perform as well in the Champions League as they did last season, given Chivu lack of experience. Meanwhile, we realize that Inter Milan management is not careless in appointing a manager, they see Chivu as worthy of holding this responsibility.
Inter Milan perhaps failed to convince better coaches to take over this head coach position after Inzaghi departure but it does not mean they will accept too poor performances from Chivu. The match with Juventus will be a big test for Chivu and Inter Milan under his management, and support from Inter Milan might drop considerably if Inter Milan loses this important direct match that has value like a 6-point match.

He still has a lot to prove himself to be, but he can do it. As I always say, to really see what a coach can give, you have to let him make purchases that he thinks can be good for the team and see if there are any improvements. But in this case, there was little to change, you just need to manage the players, who are of the highest level.
Inter Milan actually knew risk of believing in a young and inexperience coach like Chivu but I believe that they did not reduce their targets in the season like no Scudetto, no Champions League title. Chivu with 1 win, 1 defeat after two matches, has still been not in too bad situation in the club. However, it will change considerably if he loses in a coming big match with a direct competitor for Scudetto and top four, Juventus. This defeat if happens, will put Chivu under a lot of pressure, uncertainty in the club and perhaps a tough decision can be made, firing him after only three matches in Serie A, is not a kind of impossible scenario.

The absence of some players has undoubtedly had a negative impact on Manchester City's performance. Rodri has been out of action for a long time due to injury and another legendary attacking midfielder of Manchester City, KDB, left the club last season. In addition, in the season in which Manchester City won the Champions League title, Manchester City sold another of their best midfielders, İlkay Gündoğan, to Barcelona, meaning that overall Manchester City's performance has been poor.
Manchester City is a club that spent a lot of money for player transfers season by season and they have been doing this transfer strategy in more than one decade. It's unreasonable to blame anything as they are a rich club and don't have problems with buying new players so they can not blame any issue in the squad with absence of Rodri, De Bruyne or any single star player. With massive money spent over years, they must have a deep player resource to go through injury crisis better than other clubs with worse finance and transfer budgets.

Quote
Yes, I think Manchester City's forward position is still strong enough but if the positions from which the ball is created for the strikers are in bad condition, how will the strikers play at their best?
Manchester City should have planned differently in the transfer window but they have relied on the previous team so I think they will end this season with failure.
Problems in Manchester City are not in players but in their coach management and tactics which seem to be known and even forensically analyzed by their opponents in Premier League. Now Manchester City are no longer be able to convert their high ball possession to dangerous attacks and goals while their operations give opponents chances of doing dangerous counter attacks.

What they need most now is tactical changes considerably from Pep Guardiola but this man seems to hit his limits with Manchester City. If Manchester City finish this season badly, Pep will cleverly decide to leave this club as he is experienced and smart enough to know when to stop.

Is it worth coming back?

How's the spam been? The forum basically became virtually unusable at a certain point. The noise to signal ratio was 100:1 at best.

Also, remember that 'new forum' that was supposed to happen? Lol, did that idea die again? It can't be that hard to develop a forum Wink
Spam always exists and you can read some reporting topics on plagiarism and AI to have an overview on spams in the forum. Those reporting topics are not enough to completely reflect spam status in the forum but they are helpful somewhat.

Of course, Inter is amongst the favorite club to win the scuddeto but they need to fight hard for it because Napoli is a rival. Chivu might not have much experience in coaching the senior team, I believe that with the little experience he has in the coaching field, he will surprise everyone this season.

Inter has the squad it takes to win any competition they participate in and that will give them more confidence to exploit their opponents. As the season goes farther, we will see if Inter is capable of winning the title this season or not. Chivu needs to put in his best in order to shut up the mouth of the people criticizing him.
With very good player resource, Inter Milan are certainly one of most promising candidates for Scudetto but they must perform well with a new and young head coach. First ten matches in Serie A with Chivu, if he manages to stay a long time like that, will give us better view on Inter Milan strength and competitiveness in this season. In theory they are competitive but no title belongs to them by theory while they must train and play well to get points. Napoli already shown that they are continuing to be competitive in this season and ready to cover Lukaku absence by Hojlund from Manchester United. Some other clubs like Juventus and AS Roma already got good starts and can be a candidate for Scudetto too.

You are absolutely right that it is too early to judge team consistency and changes at both Juventus and Inter Milan make things very interesting this season. You also correctly noted that Inter has new coach Cristian Chivu who took over from Simone Inzaghi. Upcoming match between these two teams which will take place at Allianz Stadium in Turin will be crucial test for both sides. It will be great way to see how they have adapted and who has early advantage in title race just as you said.
It takes several years for Simone Inzaghi to build up his coach career in Lazio, gained success there before moving to Inter Milan and got bigger success. Chivu is only in his first season as a head coach and it's very challenging for him, only with a target in top four. Scudetto is what Inter Milan want but with Chivu, it's too ambitious task on him and he will likely fail to satisfy Inter Milan.

Remember how Klopp's Liverpool performed vs When Arne Slot took over? He barely signed anyone, and yet they were so impressive. Sometimes, all it takes to change is just the coach.
Slot took over that position after a successful Klopp era and he began under huge pressure but he managed his job well and even impressively won Premier League title with Liverpool in his first season there. In this season, Liverpool already started well and they are ready to defend their title even there are many clubs that want to take it over from Liverpool.

I understand why they say that, as we know Manchester City's performance is inconsistent so some people are doubtful and not sure they can compete with Arsenal and Liverpool  well they don't realize that we can't conclude just by looking at a few matches. I think Manchester City is still a threat to those who want to compete at the top of the standings.

If we check the Sportsbook predictions then we can see Manchester City is in 3rd place as the favorite team for the title and even Chelsea are under them. As I said before everything will be clearer as we get closer to the middle of the season so there we will see which teams have the greatest potential to win the league.

Arsenal seem to not be creative and powerful enough in attacks while Manchester City still struggle to improve their squad and there is still existence of their tactical and systematic problems since the last season. Cheslea can be a most intersting underdog in title race and I don't trust either Arsenal or Manchester City can beat Liverpool but if Chelsea can make big surprise, Premier League title competition will be interesting and unpredictable in this season.

Re: Bitcoin is moving from long-term holders into new addresses managed by ETFs

I mean this is where the money is going, its all traveling straight into bitcoin. You can't be mad about this its incredible adoption. But I suppose something can happen with the coins or they could be mishandled or mistreated per say but I guess only time will tell in that circumstance. I agree, rich people are going to do what rich people do so you can't really sit around and feel sour about them, I mean you can but what good does that do anyways? I'd rather try to get rich and not give a crap about what people say haha.
Bitcoin Spot ETFs can do right things for their customers or do wrong things like Terra, FTX, Voyager, Three Arrow Capitals and more did. The rich have abundant money for investments and if they chose Bitcoin, they made a very good decision. Nevertheless, if they decided to go with Bitcoin Spot ETFs, personally it's where they made bad decision for their bitcoin portfolios.

No private key, no actual bitcoins belong to them and they have to trust Bitcoin Spot ETFs doing right things for them. While as said, there is chance of bad management from Bitcoin Spot ETFs and intelligent investors, either billionaires or not, should aim at fully control their funds by themselves.

Re: UEFA Champions League 2025/26 Season

Just for fun, I opened the Champions League betting market to see who would be the winner.
It turns out:
PSG @6.00
Barcelona @6.00
Liverpool @6.00
And
Real Madrid @8.00

Even though it's still early days, it doesn't matter because the odds can change as the tournament progresses.
Is PSG still your favorite? For us, it's Liverpool at the moment. Grin
Odds are not too big different and all four clubs are nearly similar in competitiveness. They will not only compete with each other but there are other big clubs and underdogs can challenge them in this season. To go to the final match, PSG, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Liverpool will face with many strong opponents and perhaps one of them will join the final match with another club that is not in this list.

I don't think that's necessarily the case, even though they've recruited a lot of players this summer. Teams in other leagues have also recruited several quality players to compete in the Champions League. Real Madrid and Barcelona also have an equal chance of competing with the English teams.
The Premier League is known as a formidable rival, but La Liga and Serie A also have equal opportunities, as does Bayern Munich. So, I don't have a clear view on where the Champions League trophy will end up, as PSG still has a strong showing to defend its title.
PSG are the champion, the title defender and they have good squad which is under further development too. They are promisingly in defending their crown but the departure of Donnarumma and big change at their goalkeeper position can be their biggest weakness in UEFA Champions League. A goodgoalkeeper can contribute a lot for any club especially at highest level like Champions League.

Enrique can try to move forward with a younger goalkeeper and better ability of using feet for passing while the key point is using hands for great saves. The winner can be decided by a goal or by a great save while goalkeeper barely is able to make a direct assist. I don't think Enrique and PSG made a good decision by letting Donnarumma goes and signing with another goalkeeper who is not as same as Donnarumma in quality.

IMO Manchester City's problems this season are even more serious. Manchester City's overall performance last season was a bit erratic. Anyway, their defense cannot be considered too weak. Manchester City's defense is weak this season. Manchester city's last two matches were lost because of their weak defense.

Manchester City's forward's  players' performance is weak. The new players have not yet adapted  to the squad. The players need more time. The team has started badly. And city's opponents in the next three  matches are even more difficult. City will play against Manchester united, napoli and arsenal respectively. In these three matches, City is likely to lose points.
Last season, Pep Guardiola blamed their bad performances on long absence of Rodri but the club provided him money to buy some players in winter transfer season. Their performances were not improved a lot since the transfer season and is it responsibility of Pep Guardiola as the head coach. I believe main reason is from Pep, not Manchester City players as in general they have very good player resource.

We can see the void of De bruyne in the City squad quite clearly. City have to extended the contract with de bruyne. It is a mystery to me why an experienced coach like Guardiola made the wrong decision to let De Bruyne go.
From Rodri to De Bruyne, it only borrowed reason but there are more problems than from absence of Rodri and departure of De Bruyne. This season they got Donnarumma as well as some players joined in the summer so Pep Guardiola's management quality will be fully revealed in this season. His tactics seems to be no longer operating well in Premier League with better adaption from opponents there so that they can constrain Manchester City better.

Re: Will bitcoin be a unit of account?
by

It's ideal to have it as a unit of account, but to achieve a great application of this, it should be automated or understood that it's in "Satoshis". It's challenging if you're using BTC or mBTC, especially for those who are non-tech savvy or relatively new to crypto, but it's a learning curve.

Perhaps, if the technological infrastructure supports it, automation would suffice, and deductions for taxes purchased with it would be easy.
It's not hard to learn about Bitcoin units and in practice, there are some most popularly used units like bitcoins, satoshis, millibitcoins mBTC.

In addition, with Bitcoin wallet softwares, there are options in wallet settings for choosing which Bitcoin unit you want to display in the wallet. Again, it's not hard to learn for customize your wallet settings.

Units (Bitcoinwiki).
[Did you know?] Bitcoin Table of Units.

How many of us remembers this legendary player Robinho, the Brazilian star who once played for AC Milan! His now serving a jail term in his country Brazil after been found guilty of a crime he once committed while still playing for the Italian giant club AC Milan. CNN Brazil says his now a coach in prison and his currently managing a team in the internal tournament organised by the penitentiary.
Robinho has never been a legendary player in Brazil or over the world. He used to be considered as a next Pele, and he was talented but his career has never reached to Pele level. There are other players from Brazil are better than Robinho from Juninho (Lyon), Kaka, Adriano, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Fabiano, Neymar, Vinicius and Rodrygo.

You are overrating Robinho by calling him as a legendary player that is an opinion I disagree with.

I remember him very well, a very talented player, that Milan of that period was quite competitive and strong but it's a pity it didn't manage to win so much.
What crime did he do at that time? And how come he's only serving his prison sentence now?
However, many Brazilian players of that time lost their way, another was Adriano due to problems with alcohol and depression
Brazilian players often had difficult childhood, lacked of education and their lifes are full of drama. Some Brazillian players face with rape lawsuits and even inprisoned like Robinho, Mancini, Dani Alves, even more but I can not remember all.

Re: Would you adopt Bitcoins flexibility?
by
SilverCryptoBullet
on 04/09/2025, 02:09:44 UTC
Well, we have the same problem. Here, Bitcoin is also illegal to use as a payment tool. We only can use the Bitcoin as the digital asset (investment). As long as there is no change in this regulation, there is no chance to adopt Bitcoin for our business transactions. If we force to use Bitcoin as payment purpose, we will get in trouble. We possibly go to the jail, or we are ordered to pay for the fine. This also ruins the popularity of Bitcoin if we break the regulation
It's legality status of Bitcoin and its use cases in a nation that can be legal, ilegal or alegal.

The magic fact is with Bitcoin blockchain and a non-custodial wallet as well as Tor connection, you can use your bitcoins without engagement and need of approval from any centralized entity. Government even don't know what you do too but surely if Bitcoin and a use case are illegal in your nation, you must learn more, become more knowledgeable about Bitcoin blockchain, wallets, and how to practice with UTXOs, in order to make sure that your practice will not lead you to big legal troubles.

We just have to thank Pep Guardiola for making good signings for the club because it's already an elite team. Donnarumma will assists Manchester City in goalpost and this is no luck to have a goalie like Donnarumma, a well coupled experience goalie. What's the essence of exploring the bigger picture where Donnarumma gets to stand on his own and make everyone believe in him as the ultimate replacement for Ederson who fade out years ago. Manchester City also have a solid defendlines but can they survive under pressure?
If Guardiola changed to buy a striker like Haaland, used him well, I believe that he can change and ready to change with a goalkeeper like Donnarumma. Both Haaland and Donnarumma are classic players at their position, a traditional striker and a traditional goalkeeper. These transfers show that Pep Guardiola has changed with time and become more flexible with his tactic philosophy as well as player choices.

Yes, it's undeniable that there are some weaknesses at Man City, and Donnarumma truly arrived late, signed on September 1, 2025. Judging by market value and the performance of Man City's goalkeepers so far, Donnarumma is the best compared to other goalkeepers, including James Trafford, who recently arrived from Burnley, and Ortega.

And Donnarumma's statement further suggests that he will also do well at Man City, just as he did at PSG. However, we'll see how his performance will turn out.
Donnarumma is a great goalkeeper from physical to mental strength and he can make unbelievable saves for his teams. Pep Guardiola is obsessed with ball possession and he is keen on choosing goalkeepers who can make good passes like Ederson. However, in big matches that decide titles, a great save has quality like a goal even that goalkeeper can not make good distant passes for the team.

Romelu Lukaku will return to the pitch in December. This means he won't be able to play for Napoli anytime soon. That's why the Hojlund transfer was made. In his absence, the Dane will perform at his best and will likely come on as a substitute until Romelu Lukaku regains some playing rhythm after returning from injury. In the meantime, the Danish striker could be considered. Perhaps what you're suggesting will come true once Romelu Lukaku returns to the pitch.
Lukaku will not mind too much about this season with Napoli as he is old and his chance of playing for Belgium national team in big tournaments like Euro and World Cup will be very limited. He will care more about chances of being able to play in the World Cup 2026 next summer rather than how many appearances he will play for Napoli in this season.

He needs good recovery from the injury first, then needs appearances with Napoli squad in order to get as best fitness and performance quality as possible as important preparation for World Cup 2026. This means it's hard for Lukaku to be called for World Cup 2026 if his performances for Napoli are too limited and bad in quality.

Re: Banks and the prospect of holding Bitcoin as reserves.
by

on 03/09/2025, 02:30:01 UTC
Banks use tools as a store of value by holding some assets in reserves, for various economic benefits. Although, adopting Bitcoin in such capacity, would have it's pros and cons.  Obviously like controlling inflationary trends, and even help stabilize the volatility of Bitcoin to  its users, and conversely such volatility could also alter the stability of a banks statement of financial position. All these could add up to a more stable global economy. Surely banks have started to think of such prospect
Banks can do things they want even under regulations from governments and central banks as well as other regulatory agencies. They have never been a trustable and safe places for storing your fund especially in long term.

You mentioned about banks and their activities of using some tools for their benefits - which I think wealth growth potentiality. By chasing wealth, they take risk and they can use customer's funds deposited to their banks in shady, untransparent and also very risky ways. Customers can not know all activities behind the scene do by banks and they only know part of it when banks start death spirals or collapse.

It's super risky and to avoid such uncontrollable risks, you can store your property, wealth in Bitcoin. With Bitcoin, it's very easy and you can manage it all by choosing an open-source and non-custodial wallet for storing your bitcoin, having your own Bitcoin bank.

Events made you scare about custodial wallets, centralized exchanges.

Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2025/26
by

on 03/09/2025, 02:21:09 UTC
The GOAT returns to Real Betis for the second time, and he has been warmly welcomed by the Real Betis fans. Antony, the Brazilian winger who spent the last half season on loan from Manchester United, has shown extraordinary performance, leading the team to even better performances and truly capturing the hearts of Real Betis fans.
Next summer, World Cup 2026 will happen and Antony knows very well that he must have regular appearances on field in official matches as well as good performances in order to be called for Brazil national team in that big tournament. Last season, within a half of it, Antony found a new bright chapter for his career and surely he wants to continue with Real Betis, for a good continuation of  his career revival there and secondly for his chance with the national team and World Cup 2026 participation possibility.

I am personally happy for him. The Manchester United project was a disaster from the word go. Look at how many of his other teammates have left due to a string of poor performance, irregular play time and a team that is not showing any signs of improvement any time soon.

I think he will do extraordinary things at Real Betis. He was even so close to acquiring a European trophy with them last time round.
Manchester United succeeded to sell a star player they no longer needed and released a little bit pressure on salary budget too. With no plan from Ruben Amorim for Antony, keeping him in the club, paying him salary are very unreasonable actions and no club want to do this if they can find an exit gate for the player. Both Antony and Manchester United actually had to step back a little to finish this transfer deal with Real Betis.
