Re: What is margin trading?
by
Sir.Stevenson
on 07/01/2019, 15:49:46 UTC
What's more, is you can short sell.  Short selling, or shorting, is a way to profit from the downward trending markets.  This is a process where you borrow from the exchange/trading platform in order to sell high and buy back in at a lower price, thereby repaying the 'debt' and profiting from the difference in the sell and re-buy price.

Shorting, like margin trading with high X leveraging, is not a widely-available option at most existing crypto exchanges, but is much more prevalent in traditional financial markets. It allows for profit to be taken during lowering price actions, and can provide a means of creating more rounded trading strategies. A handful of advanced trading platforms like PrimeXBT (https://primeXBT.com) are now allowing for these renowned techniques used in forex/stock markets, with up to 100X leverage which can be applied to all positions (including short) to further increase profit potential in bearish markets.

It is typically advised however to ensure effective risk management precautions are simultaneously utilized (like stop-loss orders, etc.) to limit your loss potential.  Additionally, it is also advised to start off with lower X leverage (up to 10X max) as stop loss orders can be executed more easily with high X leverage, meaning you'll lose your investment will less price movement, leaving less room for error.  There are many ways to profit in a bear market, but shorting is an ideal method - provided you conduct thorough technical analysis in order to trade with the trend.

Re: Should I stop trading in this bear market?
by

Trading is like an addiction, but this bear market seems will be very long. Bitcoin is going to under 6k USD, ETH is now 262 USD, Almost 80% coin fell down. I can't make profits at this moment in trading, Because after getting a little bit of profit, the market again goes under, then another coin eats my profit too. What should I do now?

Start trading short, provided you can read market trends of course.  But you can short sell crypto to make a profit from declining markets.  There aren't many exchanges or trading platforms that allow for this yet, but they are now fortunately making their way onto the scene.

This can be done with leverage also, so the profit you make from the drop in price can be multiplied by the X leverage you take.  For example, PrimeXBT (https://primexbt.com) offers up to 100X leverage on both long and short positions.  So you can increase your profit potential by 100 when markets are crashing.  You lend from the platform to sell high and buy back in low - the difference in your sell and buy position is your profit after paying back the loaned amount.  Then you times that profit by 100, so a $10 profit becomes $1000, etc.  It is recommended to start out with lower leverage of up to around 10X however, as the greater the leverage the smaller the margin and easier it is to be liquidated, therefore you'd want to be fairly confident of your technical analysis skills before pursuing high X leverage.

That said, shorting with leverage is highly beneficial in bear markets so you can continue day trading and earning as much, if not more than in bull runs.

Prime XBT (https://primeXBT.com) requires no verification apart from email to set up an account.  It's due to launch by the end of this month (January 2019).  It is an advanced trading platform that offers margin trading with up to 100X leverage, short selling and a variety of order types, which include: stop-loss, limit orders, market orders, one-cancels-the-other (OCO), etc.

From what I can tell it looks to be of a really high quality. Could be a serious contender for Bitmex...

The trading terminal also provides aggregated liquidity from 12 top exchanges for instant order execution promising the best price. I'm definitely keen to check it out once it goes live.  As an introductory offer the first month is free of any trade or commission fees also + no doubt they'll be running other referral and special offers alongside the launch.

(Listing and available for trade is: bitcoin, ethereum, ripple, eos and bitcoin cash).

As an introductory offer the first month is free of any trade or commission fees + sign up is meant to take less than a minute Smiley

Build multi-blockchain DApps on the new and open source Arkane Network
by
Sir.Stevenson
on 03/11/2018, 15:45:45 UTC
The Arkane Network (https://arkane.network) launched only a few days ago, has two highly valuable use cases for the crypto/blockchain community:

1.) It is a free tool for developers to build multi-blockchain DApps, or to integrate the network into their own applications and ecosystems.
Developers don't need to be blockchain experts, as Arkane acts as a translation layer - it translates a the blockchain source code into a
language understood by most developers (REST API).

2.) For crypto-enthusiasts it is a convenient multi-blockchain user interface, that hosts and links multiple wallets and DApps.

The power of Arkane lies mainly in the integration possibilities for developers and businesses, as all DApps supported by the network are openly accessible and interoperable.  For example, VeChain is supported by Arkane - therefore Arkane users will be able to create VeChain desktop wallets and make or sign transactions directly in Arkane. Additionally, it will allow VeChain DApps to use Arkane as a building block in their product development.  Furthermore, Arkane provides the ability to use the Ethereum Truffle provider for easy contract deployments, and will give Ethereum apps the ability to support VeChain, etc.  These possibilities will expand as the network grows, making one another's DApps stronger and more accessible by the interconnected ecosystems and communities.

The Arkane User Interface has two primary purposes for the crypto-enthusiast:

- An easy-to-use crypto wallet to view and manage all connected blockchain wallets/accounts.
- An overview of the linked applications you’ve given permission to access one or more wallet(s), for example, ThorBlock.

These features offered to users are only the fundamental basics, and the potential of a DApp built upon the the Arkane Network's framework is only limited by the developers creativity.  As each blockchain has its pros and cons; a developer may want to develop one application that works on two different blockchains. Arkane gives that flexibility.

The project is not supported by a token, and will not be running a crowdfunding event - it is simply an open source protocol developed by the new and upcoming open source blockchain project 'FundRequest'.  The project has the potential to remove the barrier to entry for crypto and blockchain's adoption by making the use and development of DApps easy for all.

Re: Can blockchain replace bank?
by
Sir.Stevenson
on 13/09/2018, 17:29:22 UTC
One such blockchain that's giving it a good crack is DNotes...

DNotes (dnotescoin.com) is cryptocurrency and payments system that acts very similarly to a bank, however with the added benefits of blockchain technology of course.  The digital currency features a web-accessible fortress that securely stores user assets offline in cold storage, in order to avoid the associated online risks due to hackers, system crashes, etc.  Additionally, all funds in the DNotesVault are covered by a 100% deposit guarantee, which is made possible through a separate cold storage account, secured in a different location.  The secondary cold storage account will always hold an amount in excess of the Vault's total guaranteed deposits and are verifiable at any time through the blockchain.

While the funds are securely held in the DNotesVault they accrue interest, again very similarly to a bank but far more generous - with the Cryptocurrency Investment Savings Plan (CRISP).  Each DNotes wallet will earn 0.5% interest every month, 6% annualized.  This system rewards investors in-line with the network's long-term goals, with those who simply trade the currency forgoing this privilege.

The goal of DNotes is to provide a stable and reliable currency so that it can be used as you would traditional money, but faster, safer, cheaper and more transparently than ever before with no middlemen to slow down processes and rob its customers with devious fees (as banks do).  Furthermore DNotes does not discriminate and is available to anyone, no matter where they may be in the world.

DNotes are building intrinsic value into the DNotes Coin with support from the strategic ecosystem that it is planned to develop, as well as 25% equity in the partnered for-profit DNotes Global Inc company.  Furthermore, with a self governance POS model that rewards its own community for verifying the blockchain transactions, further protects the long-term interest and economy of the network - as those personally invested are less likely to dump newly generated coins.

So in summary to answer your question, yes - Blockchain can absolutely replace a bank, provided there is a comprehensive strategy to support the associated digital currency and that plan is effectively implemented and embraced.  DNotes could potentially be just the blockchain to do it.

Re: Crypto advice for newbie
by
Sir.Stevenson
on 08/09/2018, 15:37:20 UTC
What can be the best advice for a newbie due to the present market status on learning or investing?

There is actually a way you can do both - learn and trade/invest. Soon with Covesting, a new crypto exchange and trading platform launching this month. One of the platforms differentiating features is 'Copy-Trading', which allows traders to copy licensed professional traders based upon their trading history (which is shared publicly in their portfolio). If you choose to follow them, your account automatically copies their trades. If they trade successfully and you profit, they receive 18% of your profit. However if unsuccessful then you pay them nothing. So, this allows you to trade like a pro straight away and gain insight into the mind of a seasoned, experienced expert. The agreement is obviously mutually beneficial to them as they augment their profits, therefore highly incentivized to trade successfully. The number of followers is unlimited, which means they have an amazing opportunity to multiply their winnings.

The Copy-Trading concept was inspired by traditional financial markets, where this is a popular and effective technique and service used by investors. The core Covesting Team come from regulated, corporate financial backgrounds and have combined the best of the both the crypto and financial markets to create Covesting.

In the meantime, while you are copying a pro-trader you can spend your time:

A) Observing their trading activity

B) Educating yourself in the Covesting Crypto Intelligence Portal. This is an additional feature to compliment the platform as an informative and educational resource. Here you'll find the 'Crypto Academy' which has everything from the basic fundamentals of blockchain - all the way up to technical analysis, advanced trading techniques and strategies, etc. The portal also features videos, tutorials, expert trade ideas and tips, news and real time market cap data.

Aside from the copy-trading and crypto intelligence portal, Covesting is all-in-all just a fantastic trading platform in its own right.  It has a great user experience and features all of the most sophisticated technology and trading tools you would expect from industry leaders. Re: best exchange for traders
by

on 08/09/2018, 13:58:43 UTC
COVESTING (https://Covesting.io) is on course to becoming one of the worlds leading crypto exchange and trading platforms. Why I would recommend for beginners in particular, is for a number of reasons:

1. Easy to use, intuitive web interface. Simple and straight forward to achieve tasks (buy/sell bitcoin etc, deposit and withdrawer fiat/credit/debit card) yet boast the most technologically advanced technology and charting software and trading tools.

2. Leverage Copy-Trading and start earning as much as pro traders by legitimately copying their trades from day one of your trading career. This is an optional feature, but you can select a pro-trader to follow based off their trading portfolio (success history). If they trade successfully you pay them 18% of your profits, but pay nothing nothing if unsuccessful.  While your developing your own skills this is a great way to start earning straight away, as you simultaneously watch and learn from their vast experience.

3. Education - the platform also provides a free 'crypto intelligence portal', where you have access to educational resources, tutorials, videos, licensed experts trade tips and ideas, news, and live market info. This is only as it is now, but after the full launch the portal will be further expanded, goal being to be the ultimate trading resource.

4. Security - Covesting is one of worlds the first crypto exchanges to be approved for a DLT license (distributor ledger technology provider), approved by the GFSC (Gibraltar Financial Services Commission). What this means is the platform is 100% legally complaint in accordance to the most scrupulous crypto and fiat industry standards, to ensure client asset protection with clear policies and procedures. The license offers investors a set of guarantees to provide peace of mind. The license places Covesting one step ahead and ready to welcome the next wave of cryptocurrency adopters who are sitting on the fence awaiting legislation.

While these features are great for a beginner, the platform is equally beneficial for experienced - expert traders with additional features like algorithmic trading, arbitrage trading bots, aggregated liquidity from multiple and major exchanges, fast execution, 'tradingview' charting software. As well as discounted platform fees for using the COV token (50% off), life long and generous referral rewards (so good it could be a side income depending on how many active trading mates you refer).

Due to launch in stages over this September/October, 2018.

Re: What coins are worth buying NOW
by

on 12/07/2018, 16:09:50 UTC
Ambrosus is in a really good position to make a good profit by the end of the year.

The reason I believe its worth while buying now is due to the fact they will be officially launching their full industrial grade Ambrosus Network in Q4 this year.  Its a blockchain-IoT, sensor integrated system for supply chains in the food & medicine sector.

The year so far has been spent successfully developing and perfecting their blockchain protocol, the second half of the year will see further release and updated versions of the AMP-NET, being deployed and tested with partners in Q3.  Their partners are really impressive, being some of the worlds leading institutions, such as the United Nations - 10YFP Sustainable Food Programme, European Institute of Technology, Swiss Food Research and Parity, to name a few.

The Amber Token (AMB) is currently sitting on $0.27 USD, with its all time high at $1.72 back in January. The price of the AMB coin has remained relatively stable between around $0.30 -$0.80 since February this year.  They're currently ranked 170 on CoinMarketcap...which is still quite respectable being at this stage.

It's a big name project with a ton of support from the crypto community and mentioned big name partners (+40 more not mentioned). We can assume that as Ambrosus start deploying their technology into their real world partnerships, along side a full-swing marketing campaigns and promotion, it's probable we'll see this price go from where it is now, back up to its all time high of 6X ...at a minimum.

Right now, I feel is the quite before the storm and a really good opportunity to buy a solid altcoin while its price is low. I dare say we can almost certainly expect to see this price vastly increase along with the popularity and adoption of Ambrosus. Definitely worth a research!!! https://ambrosus.com

Re: The best advises to the Newbie

Hi there!

A really great exchange I've found for beginners trading is Covesting.

Covesting (https://covesting.io/) is a new exchange and trading platform, that leverages all the highest grade essentials you expect from the best exchanges, but they've made it much more intuitive and easier to use.  Additionally as a novice you can copy-trade and partner with experienced traders while your learning.  Some traders will offer their portfolio and success rate so that you can see and decide whether or not to copy their trades.  The site also has a ton of additional tools and features to educate users.  There is a section called "crypto intelligence", where you can find expert tips, trade ideas, latest relevant news and articles, as well as educational resources and technical analysis lessons.  I believe they will be introducing a podcast also.

If you're a little apprehensive about the safety and security, this platform is DLT licensed - registered under Gibraltar jurisdiction which follows the most rigorous KYC policies.  Assets are protected by the majority funds being held in cold storage, meaning only the necessary funds are accessible for immediate transactions. There is also 24/7 online support for any quires you may have while starting out.

As you develop your trading skills, you can then decide (if you wish) to share your trades and gain followers so that you may benefit an additional 18% profit - per follower from your successes and gained knowledge. So, not only is it great for beginners, but the professional traders and everyone in between. The platform is so new that it's currently in is beta version, however is due to launch this quarter.  Basic functionality is usable now, and is a great opportunity to prepare for the official launch.

Anyway, that's my tip for getting started with trading. I believe it's the most secure, educational and performance enhancing way to learn and grow that I've seen so far.

Enjoy and best if luck!

Re: Rentberry ICO - Opinions and thoughts
by

I'm a bit late to the party but I'm also backing Rentberry. I'm wondering if you backed them in the end?

I personally think it's an awesome project with a massive amount of potential and confident with the direction they're taking.

- The team behind Rentberry are second to none
- Rentberry is one of only a very small minority of blockchain startups that went into ICO with a pre-existing fully functional product
- Team and project have been working together and operating for 3 years already
- Huge amount of VC support and smashed their ICO goal - which shows huge confidence and support
- The blockchain tech used within the use of their BERRY token actually serves a purpose that couldn't be done without it. Solves a real problem - current rental system is $h*+.

Additionally - Rentberry announced 2 days ago that they’ve formed a powerful partnership with Cushman & Wakefield Capital Markets Division — one of the largest global real estate firms operating in more than 70 countries. They go international this year and their app will be ready within the next 2-3 months.

They'll be making another big announcement on the 20th May, potentially another partnership - via their telegram: https://t.me/rentberry
So if your still following best stay tuned...definitely one to watch! Go BERRY GO Tongue

I'm also holding BERRY tokens and really happy with the direction their taking, I wouldn't be worried in the slightest! Have you joined their telegram group by any chance? Two days ago they announced a powerful partnership with Cushman & Wakefield Capital Markets Division — one of the largest global real estate firms operating in more than 70 countries.

Further partnership announcements are also expected on the 20th of May this month, which you can catch via their telegram channel https://t.me/rentberry. Its a highly interactive community and is updated by the Rentberry team daily. I honestly feel their platform will be a great asset and success, and firmly believe they are not a scam.  The value has gone by 50% this week also, plus with more good news I'm expecting this to increase again to a healthy level. Hopefully you're feeling more confident since you initially wrote this post!

Im going the long haul with Rentberry! Really happy in the direction its taken in the last couple of days Grin $$
I'm confident it's a lower risk passive income option. Token holders can make 7% interest just by holding tokens which can be pooled and crowdfund majority of a renters security deposit. The model is tailored towards a stable price also so I can be confident my money will gradually accumulate.

The platform is already widely adopted, creating revenue and hitting mainstream media which will hopefully only strengthen the BERRY currency. Having raised the most ever to date in an ICO shows the support and faith many have in the project.  However as mentioned I'm in this for the long term gain, and also genuinely like the projects product and will actually rent through it once it reaches Australia (and my current lease is up of course!) haha.

Great to see blockchain finally integrated into the real world outside of just trading and finances.

Curios - Are you buying for altcoins only for profit or longterm practical use?
by
Sir.Stevenson
on 24/04/2018, 15:38:01 UTC
I'm new, so firstly hello!

I wonder... In amongst this crypto wave and hype, where many are profiting... Are you buying altcoins or investing in ICOs for their practical and revolutionary use in the future or simply/only to turn a profit?

From an outside perspective I can see huge potential for many projects to change the world we live in but it seems most people concerned only about their market value.  Don't get me wrong I like money too Wink

I'm interested to hear of investments made more so from a genuine interest in using the blockchain technology and/or coins to make daily systems and business better. What are the best ideas you've seen and are excited about? I'm keen to find extraordinary innovation and there is a vast amount of knowledge and serious investors here that I hope to gain some insight from. Thanks in advance
