Re: [ANN] e-Peso: the government-backed currency for the Philippines (launch 30-oct)
by

Government backed crypto ? for real ?
The House has expressed their interest in launching a government-backed crypto in bill 4914. We're going to launch it now, way sooner than it would take them to with all the bureacracy and so on. They can take over later on and enforce peso parity, after there has been some investment and promotion in the ePeso. They'll have a proven and useful crypto ready to use, lowering their barrier to entry significantly.

So… what are your intentions? Everyone likes making lists here, so here’s mine:

1. You create a coin with the same name as the one on the proposed house bill (which is confusing for everyone involved).
2. You list down a local news link, but have no copy of the proposed house bill (which is readily available on local bitcoin channels).
3. Have no idea on the local crypto scene (BSP or otherwise)

Listen to what others are saying. They’re valid suggestions.

So again… what are your intentions?

Hey there.

@Dabs - thanks for the tip/s. We are all indeed busy - but like what Hazard said, communication's important. I'll make sure to keep everyone up to speed (and find time to do so).
@Centurion - cool price chart. I'll talk to Mark about the hot wallet.

I'll let you guys know about coin transfers/account verification issues shortly - have to check these things with IT in a bit.

To give you all an update on what's keeping us busy nowadays:
1. Aside from the wallets/coin, we're working closely with some local crypto-enthusiasts to make use of our API.
2. Gaming Tagverts - we'll be launching a small gaming campaign this week.
3. Coin Education - our sales team is letting merchants (big & small) know all about crypto currency.
4. Standalone Sites - several sites that will integrate Tagbond is currently being built.
5. And more...

For any other issues, send me a PM.

@centurion76

Thanks for the heads-up. Spam taken out (that was quite messy).

@Tagbond,

I just checked your forum feed on TagYak and it looks like your forum (forums.tagbond.com) is getting hit with a pretty massive deluge of spam at the moment (9+ pages). I thought everyone might be off for the weekend, and didn't know if you had seen it, and wanted to give you a heads-up.

@xploss - there is a survey tagvert that can reward users for answering surveys  Smiley. Agree as well on avoiding mainstream markets.

@centurion - excited for tagyak!

I too like the idea of gaming companies making use of Tags. In-game achievements go with the rewards aspect, micro-transactions for premium items for the currency.

Not really a big bug, but when I got and redeemed "btbrae TagCoin redeem 1 coupon #2", an error message appeared: invalid_transfer. Still, I got the tagcoin. Thought you'd want to know.

have to put a stop to TAGs given to referrals off the website for a while..too many fake accounts being created...probably better to have them given away from within communities where the owner can approve the users.

Agree with this as well!
