The 84th match of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 between Canada and Scotland is going to be held shortly.
I think we already know the result of this match, it is not yet in this match, Canada will be able to do anything different that they will win against Scotland. Because they have lost five of their previous five matches and Scotland is among them. Moreover, the Canadian team has lost several times to Scotland before. So I do not have any special expectations from the Canadian team in this match either.

The match was called off, and each of the teams got 1 point each. Canada was able to widen their gap in the table with Namibia as a result of this and Scotland remains on the top with 30 points. There was no rain at King City, but poor drainage system meant that no play was possible. So it was advantageous for Canada. If play was possible, then in all probability Scotland would have won and Canada would have been left with no points. They got one point just because they hosted matches in a shitty stadium.

^^^ Consolation win after a series of disastrous performances, and nothing more for Zimbabwe. I stick to my stance that other full member nations should stop touring Zimbabwe. ICC wastes close to $18 million on them every year, and this amount should be rather distributed to the top associate nations. Hardly any of this amount ends up with the players, and infrastructure also hasn't seen any major upgrade. And this means that most of the funds are stolen by corrupt politicians in Zimbabwe.

It is true that team is missing key players so their poor performance is not surprising. And that is right that James Anderson retirement damage performance of team little. Your observation abou absence of Jofra Archer and Mark Wood and Chris Woakes is correct as is your point that younger bowlers like Brydon Carse and Saqib Mahmood are promising but still developing. As you said upcoming series against Ireland will be good chance for them to gain experience.

Brydon Carse may be inexperienced, but he is not young. He is into his 30s. Even Saqib Mahmood is in his late 20s. So it is not like they came up with a very young squad. The problem is that their first choice bowlers are not available. If Wood and Woakes were available, then it would have been a different story altogether. Also, they have this long standing issue of not having a quality spinner. Adil Rashid had an exceptional outing, but he is not consistent. And at 37 years, he is not young either.

Yes, United Arab Emirates did well towards the end, but due to their poor performance in the beginning, they came at the last minute and lost the match by such a small number of runs. I think if they had got just one more ball, they could have easily hit a 4 and won the match. Their final loss of just 4 runs is very sad for them. Although they have already lost the series, but if they had won this match, their series would not have ended without a win, but right now they have ended the series without a win. Anyway, best of luck to Pakistan and Afghanistan for the final match of the series.

The United Arab Emirates had a lot of factors working to their advantage. They had the home advantage, and they were playing against two teams who were not in full strength. A win would have further enhanced their reputation among the associate nations (right now they are struggling in the League 2 and are at the bottom of the points table). Anyway, with ACC opting for UAE as the neutral venue for matches between India and Pakistan, I am sure that they will get a lot of opportunities to play against the full members in the near future.

This is quite disappointing because it was supposed to be a very interesting and great match between these two, but it is good luck for both of them because when the match changes, it is not because of anyone strength and hard work but it is possible for those who are ready to work hard with their luck and success. I think that since Scotland victory the first toss, maybe their luck could have been successful in today match. Their team has also been quite good before, so I had a lot of hopes for it, but we have had to be disappointed in this match. But both of them have a good chance to make up for what they lacked by working hard and succeed. Which will not make their favorites disappointed with them, but rather happy and strong for them.

Looks like Namibia may not be able to finish within top-4 in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 2024/27. If that happens, then they will not be able to directly qualify for the ODI World Cup qualifiers. They need to play the 2027 Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off first, along with the other bottom-4 teams from League 2 and top-4 teams from the Challenge League. Now this is a team that qualified for the 2003 ODI World Cup. Now they are struggling even to get a spot in the qualifiers.

The match between Ukraine and France ended with a 0-2 victory for France. As we all guessed, France was far superior. In fact, Michel Olise scored a goal from the very first minute, in the 10th minute. Then, Mbappé completed the victory with their second goal in the 82nd minute. France now sits in second place in Group D, thanks to Iceland's 5-0 victory over Azerbaijan.

Well, this time, Real Madrid's French players both contributed significantly to their teams, with Mbappé with one goal assisted by Tchouameni

Both Iceland and France have started strongly. The problem here is that only one team from each group will gain direct qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The second placed team in each group will advance to the play-offs. A total of 16 teams will participate in the play-offs, with only 4 teams getting the qualification for world cup. So the chances of Iceland qualifying to the world cup looks dim for me, as in all probability it will be France who will top the group. Iceland will probably play against teams like Denmark and Slovakia in the second round.

UAE were so close to win. It's not the fate but UAE had some very slow over while they scored more in good overs. If they were able to take more singles instead of dot on those overs, they would have won. Like the 15th over where they only made 2 runs. They lost a wicket there but losing a wicket is not a reason to score so low in late game specially in T20. Afghanistan is overall better team than UAE and they had overall better bowling as UAE gave 5 more runs on extras than Afghanistan which in the end became the score that Afgnaistan won with.

Experienced teams always have the advantage when it comes to close matches. Afghanistan was on the receiving end, during a close match against Pakistan in one of the previous occasions. And on this instance, they had the advantage against the United Arab Emirates. Let's not forget the fact that this series is essentially a warmup ahead of the Asia Cup. UAE had a few close matches against the full member nations till now, and that is going to make the Asia Cup a lot more interesting.

England are getting quite weak with their bowling, if they improve themselves in that they can be strong for them, but they have already lost 2 matches and lost the series. They come close to the target and lose the match, due to which South Africa has become quite strong and it is disappointing for England that they are not succeeding in any way. England has become weak now, they are not strong against India and South Africa. If you look at the competition against India they are already a very strong team, but there was no hope against South Africa due to which I am very disappointed with the hard work and effort of England. South Africa has given a very big target in both their matches, due to which it is difficult for England to score runs and achieve them, which is why they are failing.

James Anderson has retired. Jofra Archer is a shadow of his former self. Mark Wood hasn't played any form of cricket for the last 6 months or so. Chris Woakes was also missing from the squad. Given all this, I would say that the poor performance from the England bowlers was more or less expected. Brydon Carse and Saqib Mahmood did their best, but they are not of the same league as Wood or Woakes. After the South Africa series, England will play a bilateral against Ireland. The younger bowlers may feel more comfortable in that series.

Guys, I am very excited about your response regarding these last few things that have been happening behind the scenes just because of the time it's taking. surely by Sunday everything will be okay and we'll start the next round of this competition using the Superbru link.

Cricket is one of the popular games over the last few years, mainly due to the rise of T20 format, which has been bringing exciting events here every time. Hopefully, all members will give their full support during this competition.

Wow.. so everything will be ready by 7th September (Sunday). Once again, many thanks to SATWAT for organizing this competition. I will make sure to make the initial set of bets by Sunday or Monday, as the first match (Afghanistan vs Hong Kong) will be played on 9th September. India will play it's first match on 10th September, against the United Arab Emirates. I just hope that we will get good enough number of participants, similar to what we had in IPL and the T20 World Cup.

The Paraguay-Ecuador match ended 0-0. The home teams won the other four matches by 3-0 scores.

They won comfortably at home in Brazil. Vinicius was unable to play due to injury. With this victory, they increased their points total to 28, and while Ecuador dropped points, they climbed to second place in the league.
Argentina also defeated Venezuela comfortably, with Messi scoring twice.
Argentina maintained their lead with 38 points.

Only one round of matches is remaining and now we have an idea about the 6 teams who will get direct qualification to the FIFA World Cup of 2026: Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Ecuador, Colombia and Paraguay. The race is between Venezuela and Bolivia for the spot in Inter-confederation play-offs. For Venezuela, the chances are higher as their remaining match is against Colombia. For Bolivia, the match is against Brazil and right now they are one point behind Venezuela. Remember that Venezuela is the only CONMEBOL side who have never qualified for the FIFA World Cup. That may change in 2026.

Not going into their retarded policy but overall, with new talent showing up. Their team seems to building up nicely so they are surely on uptrend.

That's what I am saying. They backtracked on their racial transformation policy. Back in 2023, CSA announced that a maximum of 4 white players will be permitted in the playing XI by 2025. But for some unknown reason, they decided to scrap that policy. Now they have around 7 white players in their XI, in addition to 2-3 black players and 1-2 Indian players. Had they sticked to the original target, then none of this would have been achieved. Cricket is not very popular among blacks. Given this, it was a retarded move to reduce the number of white players.

Missing 4 free throws at such a crucial moment, when the game could have turned in your favor, is really terrible. I agree that Spain is going through a generational change, but it has to be much better than this. Even if Spain had advanced, i don’t think they would have gone far in the round of 16, at least that’s how I see it.The NBA players are truly outstanding, and their class is obvious. We’re definitely in for a very exciting knockout stage.

Out of the 90 points scored by Greece, 25 were contributed by Giannis Antetokounmpo. It was tough for Spain to match his stature and experience, as they have a relatively young squad. Antetokounmpo contributed to 14 rebounds as well. Jaime Pradilla and Mario Saint-Supery were in good form during this match, but they can't be compared to an NBA giant like Antetokounmpo. Anyway let's not forget that Spain lost to Georgia last week, and that too by a big margin. This was some sort of an improvement from them.

Abrar Ahmed played a significant role in this game, the key point for Pakistan to win was the 13th over. In the 13th over, Abrar Ahmed took two wickets, and both wickets were taken by an attacking batsman. In this game, Abrar Ahmed took four wickets, Pakistan has proven itself once again and is at the top of the points table.
Pakistan has performed extremely well in both batting and bowling, and is the strongest team in the series. Basically, Pakistan has won most of the matches they have faced with ease.

Let's see how it turns out. Abrar Ahmed is not a newbie and he has played sufficient number of matches against other international teams. The spell of 4-0-9-4 was simply astonishing, when the other bowlers were going for close to 10 runs per over. Pakistan is yet to resolve their shortage of quality spinners. Abrar is good, but I am not sure whether he will be able to perform consistently like Saqlain Mushtaq, Danish Kaneria or Mushtaq Ahmed. If he is able to do so, then it will be good for Pakistan.

Buvama is promised king for Proteas' fire. Lol

Won WTC, won against Aussie at home and now secured the ODI series against England in their own backyard. Hope they don't this " promised king" literally and stage his comeback in T-20 too.

His individual stats are not that great, BTW. But now CSA has backtracked on their radical racial transformation targets and therefore I am not going to focus on that a lot. They have a well balanced team at this point, and the team bonding also looks quite good. The batsmen are in good form, and pacers are also taking wickets and being miserly. Keshav Maharaj is also in his career peak. And most importantly, they have a lot of players in their 20s, unlike the case with Australia. I am talking about players such as Matthew Breetzke, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs and Dewald Brevis.

The fourth round of AFC qualifiers will start next month, with six teams in fray. Top two teams will gain entry to then 2026 FIFA World Cup, while others will compete in the 5th round for an entry to the inter-confederation playoffs. Oman, United Arab Emirates and Qatar are placed in Group A, while Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Indonesia will play against each other in Group B. The most important thing to note here is that each team will play only 2 matches and all the matches will be hosted at one venue. Group A matches will be hosted at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, while King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah will host the Group B matches.

If both of them work hard to play with some good effort, they can play a very good match. This match will start soon in which there will be a lot of toughness strength and interest to score a lot of good runs. As it is, they have to play well, whoever is watching should be very happy with them which is very beneficial for their strength. They have to play very well in this match too, this will make their hard work and strength very good and a lot of deficiencies will also be eliminated within them and good team can be formed right now. They should have the same passion to work hard and keep working so that it never weakens and achieves victory. Scotland has weakened a lot, if they work even slowly, they will succeed, but it will take a lot of time.

Momentum was with Namibia, so I was hopeful for them. But in the end it was Scotland who won by a massive margin of 55 runs (massive, because the match was reduced to 24 overs each). Now Scotland is on top of the points table with 29 points, with the United States and Netherlands close behind at 28 each. Namibia remain at the 6th place with 19 points from 24 matches. Namibia has a total of 12 matches remaining, and things look gloomy if they don't improve their performance.

Yesterday in T20I match in UAE Pakistan defeated United Arab Emirates by 31 runs. Pakistan batted first and scored 171 runs with Fakhar Zaman making impressive 77 runs. In return UAE could only manage 140 runs mainly due to Pakistan strong bowling especially from Abrar Ahmed who took four key wickets. This win was very important for Pakistan as it helped them bounce back from recent loss to Afghanistan and secured their spot in  final against them. And I hope they will beat Afghanistan in Final.

This was more or less what I expected. United Arab Emirates is simply not at the same level as other associate nations. First of all, they don't have any native (citizen) players in their squad. Therefore they import players from the subcontinent on a temporary basis. Very few of these players remain for more than 3-4 years. So there is no team bonding as such, and this has a negative impact on their performance. They should take initiatives to spread cricket among the citizen population, else they will remain on the fringes.

This match was very competitive, both teams put in a great effort. Now I think England fell far behind due to the poor performance of both the opening batsmen of England, the opening batsmen both performed badly due to which the next batsmen were under pressure. The performance of the middle order batsmen was not bad, they performed quite well. Now the target of 331 runs was quite big, so it can be said that England's bowling line was not good enough. However I would appreciate the South African players, as they won series against strong teams like Australia and England. As South Africa won the series by winning the 1st two matches. I see England more likely to be whitewashed.

It was a close match, but even then the Proteas won. Now they are in the same league as the pig-3, I believe. That said, I don't discount the fightback from the England batsmen. Joe Root, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook, Jos Buttler and Will Jacks all scored important runs. Jofra Archer also added some valuable runs towards the end. But it was simply not enough and they fell short by 5 runs. The issue of 5th bowler is proving a headache for both the teams. Aiden Markram and Senuran Muthusamy conceded 88 runs from 10 overs, while Jacob Bethell and Will Jacks went for a total of 112.

I agree with you that Pakistan has performed quite well, and scoring 171 runs in the T20I is a very strong team's target.
Pakistan had given a decent target today. It wasn't a big target which could be addressed as a very strong team's target. Especially when they are playing against a weak team like UAE. Pakistan and Afghanistan will play in the final of this tri-series. I hope it will be a competitive match. UAE hasn't won any matches in this series yet. They have only one match left, and I believe they will lose it for sure.

The United Arab Emirates team is mostly comprised of rejects from India and Pakistan. So you can't expect them to perform well against the established teams. The Emirates Cricket Board has a lot of money, and this enables them to import players from the sub-continent. But despite this money power, they have performed poorly when compared to other associate nations such as Netherlands and Namibia. The only positive for them during today's match as Alishan Sharafu's innings of 68.

Aiden Markram played very well in the first ODI which they played against England International cricket team because he gave good start to his team and after that team achieved the target very easily. He played with strike rate of 156 which was good according to requirement because that was ODI match and team required only 132 runs to win the match. Ryan Rickelton was a person who made 31 runs and he was good performer and he was not out till end of the match.Jamie Smith played very well in the last match but team required century and nobody could make century in this match and Jamie Smith was opener in this match.Other players performance was very poor in this match and that was the reason they lost this match in the end.

South Africa looks set for yet another win against the Poms. This team is on fire. They were captained by Temba Bavuma on their journey to the World Test Championship trophy, and at the moment they are being lead by the same player for ODI glory. BTW, it was Matthew Breetzke who excelled with the bat today, with good support being given by the other young players such as Tristan Stubbs and Dewald Brevis. In return, the Poms have already lost Jamie Smith and Ben Duckett.
