Re: cash remains the only option if there's an emergency

I'm sure people could use physical gold coins with bitcoins on them somehow. I think we'd be pretty fucked if the internet or creditcard systems went down anyway but can't imagine such a disastrous scenario anytime soon.

I think Real Madrid v Malmo will be a better game as it potentialy could be a high scoring game which are good for this prediction as the laggards may even get a chance to win  Grin.
But it's boring to predict for it in a way, it would be x real madrid - 0 malmo, all the possible results will be exhausted in about 7-8 posts  Cheesy

How do you know Malmo won't score? I don't care what match it is by the closer ties are the most booring imo and the likely scores get taken with minutes. I'll be watching the Man City games anyway so would prefer that one lol.

Re: any chance Bitcoin will rise again to $1000 at Black friday ?
by
Skeksis
on 23/11/2015, 16:12:41 UTC
Bitcoin isn't going to go anywhere near 1k again anytime soon, especially not because of blackfriday. People aren't going to be buying coins especially for it and will just spend their existing coins if at all. Probably not much point spending btc when there will likely be much better deals in fiat stores.

I'm saving my coins for the future but whether you should or not is up to how much you believe in bitcoin. Nothing is guranteed but I can certainly see the potential bitcoin has but that doesn't mean everyone else will. Maybe just buy a little and what you can afford every month but don't go crazy and invest more than you can afford to lose.

Re: Bitcoin is Becoming a Global Currency
by

It seems to me that all of the countries and governments will shift slowly towards digital money/tokens, just like Bitcoin. It seems also that they will try and issue these tokens in a format of centralized blockchain.

That's why I wouldn't be worried about this physical/digital thing, since we are going towards digital nevertheless. It seems to me that Bitcoin and crypto in general have just made this transition faster.

I think digital currencies are inevitable at some point (maybe not in our lifetime) but security technology needs to be stronger. Not sure how most people would feel about keeping their entire wealth themselves and not relying on banks. It would be quite daunting having all your money to look after personally.

Somewhere between where it is now to 300. So 250-300 but closer to 250 I think. I'll go with 270.

Re: What are possible scenarios for the block halving?
by
Skeksis
on 28/09/2015, 13:23:48 UTC
it is all going to be about the supply and demand. the demand was high enough that it was able to keep the price at this level for a long time. and in the future if this doesn't change and also goes higher, and additionally none of the whales decide to dump a sudden big amount on the market I think the price can easily start going up to > $300 and higher from there on.

The trouble is the demand for coins isnt really that high at the moment. Hopefully there will be some good news before the halving which will get bitcoin some mainstream attention but without it I don't think bitcoin will rise much.

There's only really so much you can discuss on a forum and most people get bored or tired of all the stupid get rich newbs and negative trolls. If you were really invested in bitcoin from the early days you'll either be chilling on your yacht or maybe busy setting up bitcoin business (or spending your cash) so probably not much time to post on a forum anymore.

Re: Can ATMs move bitcoin into the mainstream?
by

on 14/09/2015, 13:17:35 UTC
I think ATMs can help and they're certainly good for awareness and adoption but at the moment they're just a novelty for most as the general public don't really need to use them. Once you can spend your bitcoins at more places they'll become handy and are good for the beginner but we need more merchants first.

Next to nothing as a Jnr Member. Just keep it and earn on a signature campaign and maybe sell it later once you've achieved a higher rank.

Re: Do you buy physical gold?
by

on 23/08/2015, 14:40:06 UTC
is not the first time i really think about to buy physical gold, but after i discover the bitcoin world, i dont want it anymore.

Bitcoins is all we need, ovbiously from my point of view gold is a real and good alternative, but now my priority is BTC Wink

This is how I feel. I always wanted to own gold but bitcoin is far better in my opinion. I was always worried about buying fake gold as well but you cant get fake bitcoins.

Re: [2015-08-22] Cloud Mining provider Scrypt.cc Drains Bitcoin From User Balances
by

The usual. Another cloud mining service acting shady...

They were a ponzi from the start but none of the "investors" cared. They were warned by several people. Anyway, we can soon see a few threads popping up when it go down.

The vast majority of cloud mining companies are scams but the users dont care. They get blinded by greed and always want something for nothing. They deserve to lose money. People just need to leave them alone because because people invest in them they always keep popping up.

Re: what you like best in Bitcoin ?

For me it's being decentralized and not issued by any central authority. I think that's what makes it special ultimately. There's been nothing like it before.

Re: Serial bomber demands BITCOIN ransom after planting explosives at supermarkets

Sadly things like this are only going to get more common as bitcoin is perfect for ransoms. The old leaving a bag of cash in a bin in a park days are long gone. It wont be long before people are being kidnapped and held for bitcoin ransoms as bitcoin is perfect for the criminals to be able to get what they want with minimal risk.

No. I would only quite if I could get a decent paying job in bitcoins, but at the moment I think I would prefer fiat cash as I can just buy bitcoins as and when I want with it any way.

Re: This is strategy
by

on 20/07/2015, 12:09:38 UTC
I have fallen out of the bitcoin world many months back. I'm starting to think the dust has settled now.

I setup coinbase to buy $10 a day of the next year and a half until the next block halving sometime in 2016.

I going to go about my business. No investing in miners, altcoins, etc, etc, etc. I am simply just going to try and forget it.

Boring. Where's the fun and excitement in that? I've gotten back into mining! Seems that the value of Bitcoin and the difficulty of mining have throttled each other so now times are good to get back in!

I don't think it's boring. Sure mining looks exciting but most can't afford to get into it. I think buying a little what you can afford and holding it until the halving would be a good idea. You could trade in the meantime for a bit of excitement but that's risky and you could lose it all.

anyone normal wants to stay anonymous

Normal? Most normal people don't care or not to the point where they mix their money several times. I think the pseudo anonymity of bitcoin is enough for most people.

What do you like best about bitcoin?
Decentralization, transparency or easier to move?
Or just it makes you look cool? Wink

All of the above. To me decentralization is the biggest benefit as being able to send and hold money that is free from goverment theft is awesome in my opinion. I look forward to being able to spend it all over the world in the future.

Re: Why is Bitcoin Price Surging?

According to preev the price has been up down then back up again the past three days. Went from 150-160 then back down to 150 now it's near 160 again. This is why I don't get excited about the current price any more and just look to the long term future price.

Re: should i move my ''saving'' to Bitcoin?
by
Skeksis
on 18/06/2015, 15:31:12 UTC
since you are saying that you can afford to lose it, i say put it in bitcoin. but if you are getting profit from your stocks(savings) at the moment i say you don't take all your money out of it and leave some be that way.

I was going to suggest the classic line of don't invest what you can't afford to lose - and I'm sure it has already been suggested - but it's true. Personally I wouldn't put all your savings in bitcoin but invest an amount you are comfortable with. I think in the long run bitcoin will be a good investment with great returns but remember nothing is guranteed.
