This is a sad story but i believe these so called terrorists don't manufacture weapons, one way or the other they bought or were been supplied to. It is so sad the licenced firearms dealers or governmental agencies secretly supply arms to these terrorists.

Whether she was protesting or not, or knows the risk involved in what she was doing doesn't give room for her to be shot in the head like an animal. Is it now a crime for one to stand up for his/her rights or is now wrong to air out your opinion on a matter?

The world is no longer safe, let everyone be careful and be on a lookout in order not to end like this.
May her soul rest in abundant peace. Amen

Re: Make sure you have a contingency plan for your assets

Sorry Op for your dad's health condition, i wish him speedy recovery.

Trusting someone or family member with your assets isn't a bad idea but before doing so, there are lots of things to consider.
Anyone can change anytime because he or she is a human, the person you may entrust with your assets may wake up one day with another  motive or thinking to use up your funds either for himself or for the family without thinking or acquiring for the best way it should be used because he does not know the value niether did he work for it. Sometimes due to insufficient knowledge your funds can be misused or they can fall prey to scammers.

In my words, its better you manage your assets by yourself, no one can handle your assets better than you because you know what it's takes to make money but if you feel trusting someone with it is better than that't fine as well.

Re: How do I introduce Bitcoin to my client?
by
Skfox
on 27/07/2024, 06:02:19 UTC
If I have a client that wants to invest in Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies, but he/she does not have any actue ideas on how the Bitcoin ecosystem works. How do I convince such person?
You never convince anyone to invest in Bitcoin. If there is a knowledge gap, you can supply them with basic knowledge that can help fill that gap and enable them make an informed decision themselves.

Convincing someone isn't a good idea when its comes to investment or anything that involves money because something might go wrong and then you will be held accountable for it. So it is best you just create an awareness in whatever form and allow your client or whoever to make his/her decision either to invest or not.

What is needed first is to get a proper knowledge first before telling someone about it, making research and asking questions and also reading can be of great help to know more about bitcoin investment.

Congratulations op i can feel the joy in your sentences and am happy for you too, and your method of managing your first payment is nice. What captured me was the act of kindness shown to the poor, it is indeed a quality to imitate.

Investing in bitcoin is a good decision, the amount you start with does not really matter but your consistency in adding it up due to your weekly or monthly pay grows the investment even before you know it.

About online payment, I haven't received any but I know the joy that come with receiving a salary. Once again congratulations op and more success.

Re: Is it proper for one to trade Bitcoin through a trusted friend ?
by
Skfox
on 30/05/2024, 15:29:13 UTC
Op trusting a friend isn't out of place, have seen friends turn brothers and do almost everything together but then it's not really advisable in the area of trading or investing. Trading or investing are attached with significant risks that can result to profiting or loosing which one need to settle down to learn and know what method to go about with.

Trading through your trusted friend with a huge money might not be healthy firstly it might expose you to insecurities, secondly sometimes your friend may run loss, let's say one to three times your friend run loss you might start thinking that your friend is stealing or cheating you even when he is honest and you will see gradually how your beautiful relationship will crash.

It's best to learn and know about trading or investing yourself, then work in course of your study with the method that suit you instead of trading hugely through someone else.

As humans we know that corruption is inevitable either because of personal desires or cultural view. Personal greed, secrecy or dishonesty can cause corruption especially when he or she has a powerful position to influence or mandate anything on anyone.

Thou power has the ability to corrupt anyone in position but when it is in the possession of someone with good intentions for his or her country and high sincerity or integrity, corruption may seem to be less.

Imagine being on a video call and everyone interacting with you are fake?
At first I don't believe this until later on, a guy from my local Crypto WhatsApp group lost close to 18k in dollars to scammers, this is a guy who have been a victim of some past scams and jave learned from it all, thinking he has passed been scammed until now.

Sorry for his lost, that is a huge sum of money to loss at this period. One thing we should always know is that it is not always good to rely on just your own knowledge or feeling too over confident of yourself. Ask questions on things you don't know, research and don't be in a haste to invest in anything because of somebody or greed.

The scammers went online and download the pictures of the company, including every staff members, everything they can get and used Artificial intelligence to create fake videos and with fake voices they will use in the video call, I went on doing my own research amd ended up with Deep fake technologies.

These scammers are so desperate that they can go to any length to achieve their goal, they update themselves on different methods and technologies and even applications can look too real to be false just to achieve what they want.
Even as we research and ask questions on how to identify scammers, we still need to be careful and watchful on deals we sign or platforms we invest.

Re: I have some old BTC wallet from 2013
by
Skfox
on 20/05/2024, 13:18:12 UTC
Was it only his parents who asked you to check his belongings? Did your friend ever ask you to do it? Or did he have any chance to tell you about bitcoin? This might be personal questions but I think before you decide how to open the wallet you should also consider what might have been the decision of your friend. If he didn’t tell anyone I doubt he wanted to leave those coins to someone, if there were any.

You may not be far from the truth, if op's friend wanted someone to know about his bitcoin wallet he would have related it either to his parents or someone else.
These questions need to be considered so as not to go against a friend's wish.

But if it's with the consent of his parents you can go ahead, they still have the right to take decision for their son but the unlocking should be done in their presence (the parents) also following the legit way of unlocking the wallet.

Does bitcoin need more developers?
by
Skfox
on 19/05/2024, 17:05:45 UTC
Bitcoin developers are ones which with the aid of proper education, training, research and practical work have helped in improving their skills and knowledge about bitcoin resulting to quality contribution to the bitcoin ecosystem, making it fast and efficient.
It is true, bitcoin developers have being increasing over the years but with recent happenings, don't you think bitcoin need more developers?

With the rapid adoption of bitcoin around the world where by some countries now uses bitcoin as a legal tender, companies and some other stores or shop now also uses bitcoin as a means of payment and concerning creating awareness or educating new users, I think it the need for more developers should be considered.

Everyday more people are coming in, more hands are needed on security and privacy of bitcoin transactions, assurance of  the primary nature of bitcoin as a decentralized asset, wallet development and educating now users.
I think they should be sent in badges to areas where bitcoin haven't been heard or where their is no knowledge about digital gadgets or have access to the internet.
Am always open to learn and to take corrections.
what are your opinions?

Re: How can we increase the awrarness level for Bitcoin adoption
by
Skfox
on 17/05/2024, 22:37:07 UTC
To be honest I think in today’s time, the most effective way to spread awareness is through the use of social media. Even if you do not intend for them to see it, they will see it as long as you post it online. The internet has come such a long way to the point of connecting a lot of us from different parts of the world has become such an easy feat.

There are multiple social media platforms we can use to spread awareness about bitcoin and it won’t even be hard to do so. The only challenge we’ll encounter is people having misconceptions about bitcoin and never accepting any kind of reasoning.

Yes noted, the fastest way to spread information or create awareness is through social media. Once it's posted, it goes viral and this can help too in the case of bitcoin but then there should be ways to reach out to those who are in remote villages, those without any digital asset or who can't access the internet.

In my opinion, I will suggest we speak or teach anywhere we find ourselves and to anyone who cares to learn, the use of local radio, flyers, newspaper etc. Also open speech in local meetings or town center and even schools can help too in creating awareness about bitcoin.
This can only be carried out with joint efforts as a team, it is not a one man journey so we all can help out in any way we can to make this a success.

Re: Imagine owning a Bitcoin note.
by
Skfox
on 17/05/2024, 14:49:39 UTC
Bitcoin is not centralized electronic currency, it is a decentralized digital currency. Where did you see such wrong information that bitcoin is a centralized currency?

Bitcoin is possible in physical form like Casascius Bitcoin which contains the private key of an amount of bitcoin but government will not make such project to move forward.
Thanks for correcting the OP, Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency, that is not owned by any country, and it doesn't have any central office, if it becomes a physical currency, then the purpose of it's creation, would be defeated. If Bitcoin becomes a physical currency or cash, then it must submit to a central bank that will regulate it's printing, meaning that it'll them become centralized and that privacy that comes with holding it will not be possible again. I think that Bitcoin is better off being a digital cash than a physical one, the only thing that we need is massive adoption, so we can carry out transactions anywhere in the world.

I will agree with you, in as much as bitcoin have the potential of being a main currency or note for transactions, the reflection of it's decentralized nature can give us another thought. For bitcoin to be a hard currency, certain process needs to be considered. It will be controlled by central banks and government, it must be generally accepted worldwide, bitcoin price will be stable due to high rate of adoption etc.

All we need is to know more about bitcoin, knowing how well to use it easily and also create awareness in educating others with insufficient knowledge about bitcoine.
One uniqueness of bitcoin is it's decentralized nature so making it a hard currency will rather ruin bitcoin, It is better off a digital cash.

Re: Young investors

No doubt op there are many around the world that earns that amount of money every day yet new to bitcoin, but It won't be a good decision to invest all you earn into Bitcoin. There should be some savings out of your daily or monthly earnings whether you are a young or an old investor.

Starting with a huge amount is not out of place as long as you have weighed yourself and you are financially balanced and when you have a better knowledge about what you are going into but then investing with everything you earn is what I won't advise. It is very vital for you to have savings or other businesses instead of relying on your investment on bitcoin alone so that when hit by any challenge, you will have other funds to go with instead of tempering with your coin with that pressure which may lead to loss.

Op, to you I will say your friend did the best for you, he didn't want you to depend on him rather he showed you how you can help yourself which every good friend would do. Learning takes determination, when you set your mind to learn something you won't see it as hard instead as being enjoyable.
Reading and understand is the best to do and then asking questions that disturbs you here in the forum to get helped by seniors.

We are all here to learn, taking corrections should also be part of learning. When you are being corrected and then you take correction, you will see yourself growing even without you knowing. Sometimes you may not see the impact of the correction at that time but you will later realize it the best to be taken.

In my opinion, lengthy post sometimes discourages many to read even when you may love reading, your post may be a quality one but due to the length many will see it stressing to read to the end.
This is a correction which should be taken and then try to readjust, it is also important to we newbies too to learn from this correction.

Re: Don't invest in Bitcoin because others are investing in Bitcoin
by
Skfox
on 16/05/2024, 14:04:04 UTC
As we all know, everything should be done by choice. Investing because people are doing so or because you are being influenced into investing in bitcoin is not good for any investor. You shouldn't allow yourself to be influenced or investing because people are doing so, following the crowd may be a lucky step for you in terms of making profit but most times disastrous.

It is best to understand or have a good knowledge about bitcoin before investing in it. Knowing about bitcoin investment completely with make u fully equipped, knowing the best strategy to use and also make you good in decision making. Even after knowing about bitcoin very well, it remains your choice to invest whenever you want, it is your money and you alone knows how hard you may have worked to earn it so you make sure your money is going the right way. Never do anything because people are doing it because it always end badly.

Re: Have you successfully influenced someone to invest in bitcoin ?
by
Skfox
on 15/05/2024, 18:52:08 UTC
With the little I know, I talk about bitcoin with my friends and sometimes even with strangers due to discussion that comes up. Talking about bitcoin help the knowledge about it sink more into me and also create awareness to those who do not know.

About influencing someone, I have not infact I would not want to influence someone into investing in bitcoin because if anything goes wrong, the outcome would not be nice, it can result to me being blamed for it and at the end spoils our good relationship with each other. The best I can do and even advise is that we should help in whatever way, to make others have  sufficient knowledge about bitcoin and then leave the decision of investing for them to make instead of influencing them.
