In order to be rich, our mindset should not be like an employee mindset. We should think differently where we keep seeing different kind of opportunities in every type of investments. I'm a type of persons who want to be rich and that is why I keep making investments.

Re: First hand examples of Emotional trading

What are some examples of when emotions mess up your trades?
There are many situations where the trader panicking. The best examples here are the traders who lose in trading, they are doing overthinking about the loss that they experienced. They can't focus on the decision that they should do and that's why they cannot manage their emotions when they are trading.

Panic when you see a market that is going down is natural for a trader, because it is human psychology, but do not let the panic hurt you, you must be able to master yourself, and correct yourself if you want cut loss, do not get carried away
Thats true, investing in crypto is not different in other investment opportunity out there its risky and no assurance of gaining thus its important to prepare yourself for the worse so that it wont hurt you much if the outcome is not what you expected it to be.
If your mindset is ready then you will not be moved by any bad thing that you will encounter while investing to this market, it is a  great
practice trying to be more open minded and willing to adjust while the market is not so friendly, it will avoid you deciding wrong ones
and will keep your hope that things will be turned around after.
Our mindset should always expect that we cannot guarantee to protect our money in trading of cryptocurrencies. There are many risks in this investment so we should expect that we can lose our money anytime.

I am working on an article about how smart people ended up buying shitcoins – I need some info on why you bought shitcoins (if any). If you choose "other" then can you care to comment on what that other means? Would appreciate if you helped me get an insight!
Thanks in advance.
I think misinformation is the main reason why I have shitcoins in my portfolio. At first it will go up but I realized that I am wrong because the coin that I have dumped so much. I have a bags of shitcoins and I still have hope that it will go up in the near future.

Re: How do you monitor your crypto portfolio?
by

on 14/02/2019, 15:25:49 UTC
I haven't managed to find a crypto portfolio tracker that works better than a spreadsheet I have. I'm curious what other folks use—would love to hear any tips about what is or isn't working for folks.

In the meantime, I'm going to try and make some improvements to my spreadsheet tool at www.cointracker.network for anyone to try (feedback welcome).
There are a lot of ways that we can use in order to monitor our cryptocurrency portfolio, the best way that we should use is by downloading the application of blockfolio and also by searching the website of the coinmarketcap.com. I can easily become aware to the latest information of the token that I have.

Re: Are traders born or made?
by

on 13/02/2019, 13:00:06 UTC
For those of you who’ve walked the trader’s path, you’ll know how daunting it can be. Standing in the footsteps of legends, wondering which strategy to follow, what concepts to learn and--more importantly--whether you really have what it takes to be a trader.

When your emotions are raging like a rollercoaster, a trading win can lead to a euphoric high. And a loss? A plummeting low that makes you doubt your ability and courage to stay in the game.

But can you learn to overcome your emotions, bide your time, fight against your urge to buy or sell, and figure out how to read the markets? Can you teach yourself to be a trader?

When you’re filled with self-doubt and overwhelmed by a plethora of trading tools and options, you may find yourself asking the question: are traders born or made?
URL – https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfKaz8VAe3Iv3HI_UYx3j7QFIgUcf5v_y71M0Md3YU12fq0OQ/viewform

All of traders are ones a newbie, they only became expert because they keep seeking information about trading. If we want to learn something, then we should research and do a lot of studies about trading. Trading is unpredictable job so we should expect that we can lose our money anytime.

Re: Why all people moan about the price of bitcoin?
by
SkustaClee
on 13/02/2019, 07:50:59 UTC
Most of the bitcoin holders are anxious to the price of the bitcoin because they keep experiencing losses. They can't sell their bitcoins yet because they know that they will lose the opportunities to regain the losses that they get. They are so worry because they do not have enough patience and information about the whole cryptocurrency market.

Re: Are altcoins useless?
by
SkustaClee
on 13/02/2019, 05:41:31 UTC
Now days we have more than 1 000 altcoins on the market. The question is, are people really using them? Frankly speaking only bitcoin, ethereum and monero are used for P2P payments. All others are used mainly for speculation purposes. Is it worth buying altcoins now days? I guess no, because all of them excluding tether are following bitcoin price chart.  I mean if bitcoin is going up or down, altcoins are doing same. (Tether is connected to US dollar rate and used mainly for arbitrage trading purposes) So do we really need altcoins? Regarding platforms, only ethereum is mainly used, and mostly for creating ERC tokens. All others, like waves, neo, etc are used very rarely. Monero is used mosly for shady deals because it is untraceable. (I doubt about that, because one dude who opened a shop on a dark web for selling drugs was cached by police last week. For communication he used 3 level protected VPN and was accepting payments only in monero) https://www.wired.com/story/monero-privacy/ You can read about dark web here. https://www.techadvisor.co.uk/how-to/internet/dark-web-3593569/ days. The main question is: Do we really need altcoins? Or Bitcoin, Ethereum and Monero are enough for crypto comunity this days?

I do not agree to you! There are users like me who also using altcoins in my daily lives. Altcoins are not just for trading, it can be also use in transactions as mode of payment. I know that there are more altcoins that are really useful in our economy.

Re: Progressing adoption
by
SkustaClee
on 12/02/2019, 01:58:10 UTC
Lately, I have not been hearing much about Bitcoin, other than media mentioning that the value is decreasing. In addition, the transaction volume processed by payment gateways is also decreasing. I feel that adoption has come close to a standstill. What is your opinion about this?
I think we should look at benefits of Bitcoin for merchants, to increase the active circulation. For example, bitcoin is a cheaper alternative to debit- and creditcards as merchants have to pay less interchange fees. Therefore we should contribute as a community by helping merchants to implement this system in their store. Merchants could possibly attract customers by giving discounts for paying with Bitcoin. What is your idea for progressing adoption of Bitcoin?
We the bitcoin users should do a way where we can promote bitcoin to others. The adoption will not occur if we will not do something. I keep influencing my friends to patronize bitcoin for them to get also opportunities and benefits. There are now many people that I influenced who sharing their information to others, it is like a domino effect where people are becoming aware to blockchain technology.

Re: hesitant about investing in Bitcoin.
by

on 11/02/2019, 14:05:56 UTC
Hello, everybody, friend ...?
Sorry I'm a newcomer, at the BitCointalk forum, I don't know much about Bitcoin, but I've heard a lot about Bitcoin, especially in print and electronic media,
in one day I read about Bitcoin information in this forum, I am confused where to start, because I see many good, positive and negative posts.
For example:

Positive side:
1. Topic: Working for Bitcoin
2. Topic: Bitcoin ATM's are popping up

Negative side:
1. Topic: Will Bitcoin collapse by a global government crackdown

2. Topic: Five Reasons Bitcoin Should Be Closed Down

So I was a little hesitant in investing in Bitcoin, of course because I was confused between good and bad, but I was still sure.
What I want to ask the old seniors and understand the phenomenon of bitcoin in the future, whether I continue to invest in my estab lishment or not ...!

for reasons of the above posting factors. (thank you).
You are a beginner in the cryptocurrency market so your first objective is to read many articles and posts in this forum. Before you make investment with bitcoins, you should ensure first that you have enough knowledge about it.

Re: Your destiny is in your hands
by
SkustaClee
on 11/02/2019, 13:14:05 UTC
Our destiny is not written on an imaginary surface and not in wind. What we are today in the crypto space is as a result of the works of our hands.
- Whenever you want to invest or promote a project, do not be in haste, but take your time to analyze it.
- If you want to sell the coin you have, do ensure you think about it many times, so that you will not later blame yourself for selling.
- Get materials to study whatever you do not know.
Nobody can make a better decision for you than yourself. So learn to do the right thing at the right time.
That's why we should always have plan before we act. Our destiny depends on our hands so we should know how we will handle the risks in the cryptocurrency market.  We should have a lot of knowledge in order to gain profit and avoid losses.

Re: Panic on some hodler and sellers
by

on 07/02/2019, 15:03:29 UTC
for me the only thing that dragging the crypto currency price are two things
the bad and fake news that are spreading by some people who has big interest on crypto
there is no denying that this is their doing and nothing else, who has the money and funds to do that?
im sure by now that its clear, second is the timing the the stock market also plummeting also
this is all over the news, everyone should understand that this is what really happening and panic will not only drag the price
down , but will also empty you pocket so keep calm
There are traders who keep panicking because they believe to fake news and rumors that are spreading worldwide. We should only believe to the news, articles and journals in the internet if the author or the sources are trusted and reliable.

Re: Old coins vs new coins
by
SkustaClee
on 07/02/2019, 14:08:29 UTC
old coins: coins that went through the bull run
new coins: are ICO tokens from projects during the bear market, mostly not listed on exchanges.

It is obvious that all the aspect of the space had struggled due the giant force of bitcoin. Over the past year the average dump in price of most of the old token/altcoin from the last bull run is close to 90% while the new coin are holding to their price. Most ICOs in the later part of 2018 decided to postpone the listing which their decision could be justified or condemned as the market revives.
With the approaching news of bull run and present the value of altcoins,
1.  can the altcoins ever hit the ATH price even at $20000 bitcoin?
2. Can the new coin from ICO be an alternative even with so much old coin held in some portfolios?
3. will you choose to hold on to old coins or sell to invest into new ICOs?

I prefer to buy old cryptocurrencies than the new emerge cryptocurrencies. I cannot guarantee the high returns that I can get through patronizing new coins. I keep investing in old coins because it is now proven that they have potential in the market.

I want to invest with $ 2000, and I will choose 5 altcoins. Maybe one of them is Cardano. Is the short term more likely to gain profit or vice versa with the long term? Thank you.
I still prefer to choos long term investment. It is really hard to become a day trader because of the high risks. There are many factors that you should consider if you will do day trading.

Not all of cryptocurrencies are suitable in day trading so we should choose carefully what is the best coins in day trading. It is advisable to use ltc, eth, eos and bitcoin cash in day trading because this coins have good reputation and valuable in the market.

Intraday vs HODL

In the current market situation which one best and what do u guys prefer
We have different skills and perspective. The answer to your question is depends on the trader. If I will pick which one is suitable for me, I will pick the long term investment than day trading. I do not have enough analyzation skills so it is better if I will do HODL than day trading.

Re: Opinions about the emergence of new Coins
by
SkustaClee
on 06/02/2019, 14:40:44 UTC
Cryptocurrency or crypto currency is increasingly recognized by many in the world. You know, block chain technology is growing day by day, not a few new crypto are emerging.

Question:
1. What do you think of new coins / tokens that keep appearing
2. What is the positive impact of this new coin on Bicoin
3. What are the benefits for traders with the emergence of these new coins?
I do not mind the new coins that emerging nowadays because I know that they do not have potential in the market. Most of the new coins are losing its value immediately so I know that I will only experience losses if I will patronize new coins.

When I first told them about cryptocurrencies, they didn't become interested because they didn't believe to what I day. They say that I just wasting my time reading and studying cryptocurrencies. But when I explained to them its function and the benefits that they can get, I surprised that they are now interested to learn more.
