Is there an account buying guide?

I do want to purchase an account but I'm not sure how to go about it. I see a signed message saying you own the account is nice, means that it counts as proof that they changed the ownership over to you. But is there anything else or is that the only way to officially get an account? Does changing the email afterwards mean they can't get it back? It's pretty scary to buy an account even if it's only like $5. Nobody wants to pay for something and then have it taken away.

Insisting that the house somehow rigs the bets to let you win a low % of your money and then takes it all away is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard.

It's educated gambling. You might be able to get an edge by trading. The thing about gambling is the house has the edge. In trading you just have to have an edge over whoever will try and buy your coins. So this could be information somebody doesn't have, research and chart reading knowledge you have etc.

Re: Mining after Halving 2016
by

I'm looking at it mathematically. In theory the halving will make Bitcoin's price 2x what it is, simply being it becomes twice as scarce. Well this is not actually what is going to happen. Let's look at some key factors:

1) New s9 is shipping out june 12th. This promises mining with AT LEAST 2.5x less power. (.1j/gh as opposed to the s7 .25j/gh)

2) Mining being 2.5 more efficient with new machines means that while the old machines stop, there will be huge influx of petahash from the new extremely more efficient miners, while s7 will probably still be profitable, if only a little.

3) More efficient means that miners will sell their coins for 2.5x less than they normally would because it costs them that proportionate amount less to mine them.

So, all things considered, I think it will be almost entirely similar on a mathematical scale. What changes is people's mind with Bitcoin supposedly being half as abundant, which I think is why we're already seeing a rally to try and speculate what price level it will be at.

In short, Bitcoin supply is going down by 1/2 but the mining machines are 2.5x more energy efficient. So in straight math form, Bitcoin should actually drop in price from the halving by 25%.

Good starting point. Next, you take into account the human factor. Emotion + FUD + media + rumors = Who knows.
Thank you haha. Yes, it is very unpredictable in that way. As far as I can tell, the halving only creates a bull market for Bitcoin as the perceived value and rarity doubles. Notice how I said "perceived" haha.

I pay, last I checked, 0.06-0.08 kwh (depends on how much you use) and I still did the math to find that Hashnest will profit and turn an ROI quicker by at least 13%. So it will probably be about even, if not less because of cooling cost, security, etc. to run your own even at that good price of electricity. So for me after having done all that math, will most likely get into Hashnest either when they have s9 gh to offer or s7 after the halving.

Buying any hardware before the halving is just a big unnecessary risk in my eyes. Best case is you get to mine for 2 weeks on the gravy train and then everybody else catches up. Nice, you just made probably less than $100 more than somebody who had no risk of the halving. (claps)

OP too stupid to realize bitcoin halving in less than 32 days. He prolly knows nothing about dff jumping up due to S9 release. Well, the ignorant will inherit the hell.
Yeah...obviously it would have been at least 2.5x better to buy s9 units, way less power draw, heating required, space and noise reduction. Halving right around the corner with probably a huge spike in difficulty. I would not have the balls to risk 100 s7 PLUS 100 psu's with all those conditions. Screw that. Even with the extremely low power rates.

Re: How to play gambling in a smart way?
by
Slippin_Jimmy
on 06/06/2016, 05:49:04 UTC
The smartest way is to set yourself an amount that you can afford to lose. $50/month? That can get you a lot of gambling action on low stakes at PokerStars or even micro betting with Bitcoin on the various game websites they have. You could buy into a lot of tournaments and things like that. That's the real smart way, and maybe after time you see that you get good at playing the game and don't need to deposit anymore and can just grow your money.

My balance disappear by using this bot, i am not lose by the game but lose because this bot withdraw all my balance..
So the bot was profitable after all. Just for the evil trojan user that made the program take all your coins and give to the owner. Definitely don't download random bots on the web.

Re: Everyone looses in the long run
by

There are professional texas holdem players. It's largely based on mathematics at the pro level, but also to recognize human behavior, ego, patterns etc. which at a pro level they will always switch it up or "balance their range". To say all gambling is a loss in the long run is just ignorant of the skill games. Games like roulette and slot machines are of course rigged for a house advantage, but in poker against other people the house takes "rake" which is usually like 1-2% of the total pot. Or if you're doing tournaments you buy in for $10 +$0.50 or whatever their rate is.

Re: what fun in GAMBLING?
by
Slippin_Jimmy
on 06/06/2016, 05:28:58 UTC
The skill games are the most fun in gambling for me. Like texas holdem, even blackjack which is generally not very skilled but card games seem more fun than clicking buttons on a screen or pulling a level to let a random number generator pick your win or loss.
