Re: [ANN] [BTCP] BitcoinPrivate: A Truly Private Bitcoin [Equihash]

In my opinion it's better to buy bitcoin in order to qualify for this fork. Bitcoin price will not be affected by this fork price. On the other hand zcl price will drop. Also, there is no guarantee that combine zcl and bitcoin private combine price will be higher than zcl price now. So it will be gamble for zcl holders and free money for btc holders.

Where is the guarantee that btcp will be listed on a high-volume exchange before april 1st 2018?  I say there will be a huge panic sell on zcl, then miners with old cards (7950 & 280x) will shut down all their hardware... there will be a lot of older gpu available, and maybe the retail prices for newer gpu will go down as well...

The mining prices don't look good for after that fork, miners will run away from zcl into the zec, then will panic because of the increased difficulty... Since the difficulty will go up on the profitable coins and we'll lose zcl (low price) & zec (too difficult), hush (difficulty varies too much), btg & komodo (difficulty too high compared to whattomine results)...
recession is coming and will last for at least 2-3 months until bitcoin recovers to usd $18,000.

Hi guys,
How do I direct the miner to NiceHash?
My script is:
Code:
nsgminer -k neoscrypt --no-adl --gpu-platform 2 -g 1 -w 128 -I 16 -o stratum+tcp://neoscrypt.eu.nicehash.com:3341 -u MyBTCwallet
The miner returns: "No login credentials supplied for pool 0 stratum+tcp://neoscrypt.eu.nicehash.com:3341"
Thanks

I'm glad no one answered my question as NiceHash has been hacked and all BTC stolen: https://www.reddit.com/r/NiceHash/comments/7i0s6o/official_press_release_statement_by_nicehash/?st=javj0xn9&sh=5a652c55

So what is the anwser?

Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v12.6 (Windows/Linux)

I have been offered a few R9 380's 4GB - anyone know what the up todate expected hashrate is of these cards please?

many thanks

About the same as 280 or 280x (210 to 300 sol/s)

Watts per card are also pretty high so consider it as winter heater or if your electricity cost is really cheap only.

I think you need a Hynix card with mining straps running at 2250 and you can go over 1k H/s.

A warning on cheap Hynix cards however, don't go there. You'll end up in RMA hell or forced to run at stock speeds.

A few years ago amd released the R9 280x which is a 7970 with overclocked core and ram speeds in the card bios...
I love to buy these because they mine almost as much as a 380x or 470, as long as you do not factor the electricity cost.

We miners love to overclock, but overclocking the R9 280x - 7970 to the limit also is a don't go there.

The 280x were so often poorly made with cheap chinese knockoff of capacitors (all gigabyte with 3 fans,
some msi and xfx) and bad heatsinks that keep the heat on the ram or voltage regulators (diamond, msi, xfx)

These cards when overclocked at 1011 mhz use 1.2v instead of 1.05v, often locked in the bios;
the capacitors and voltage regulators overheat easily if the fans are under 80%-100%

Think about the gains vs loss of overclocking too much... after all it's your money.

Wolf0 congrats, people says your miner is faster than Claymore!

Meh, it is in some cases, but only a bit. If I wanted to have a contest, I wouldn't hand the competitor my entry, duh. Tongue
Are you share your miner version?

Wolf0 miner is opensource, meaning the code is free; so anyone could make it faster or do whatever they want with it.

Wolf0 congrats, people says your miner is faster than Claymore!

The issue I have is I use Claymore's miner a lot more...
Yours just is like linux in console mode, compared to the autodetect-autotune feature of claymore.

It takes me forever to configure my rigs so I use user-friendly miner only
Yet I wish there was an easy way to configure sgminer and cgminer for mining with default fastest speed.
