People have to  draw their conclusions based on the information given in this thread by terrahash in the past and hopefully in the near future.
I have invested my funds elsewhere now because I had some time pressure and could not wait longer for additional reliable information.

Thanks Sebastian. Be nice to the Zoll (customs) guys when the chips arrive, so that they hand'em over ;-)
Normally I would try not to pay the high EU VAT, but the group buy in the US has somewhat stalled currently,
so I think I will move in here....

I hope they do put acceptable declaration on/inside the package. Otherwise with German customs it could create some trouble to clear up things and get the chips released.
Maybe Sebastian can check upfront with Bitsyncom & customs about this subject ?

As mentioned by Schrankwand, I also would expect to pay an additional 19% VAT...

Re: [FRC] - Difficulty Adjustment fork moved closer! [HARD-FORK @ block #28336!]

I stumbled over the version number problem already with your last software change.
Why did you again not change the version number ?

Now, after installation/restart nobody can tell for sure if really the "newest" version
is running with the even earlier hard fork block ?
What if that happens with some of the bigger FRC pools ?

You test the new difficulty algorithm for days but don't take your time (about 1 minute?)
to change the version number....

Really, I want this coin to succeed, but I can't follow your reasoning here.

Thanks for your time & consideration.

@Terrahash:
Could you please provide at least your company entity number - I was unable to find the company record for TerraHash Inc. at http://kepler.sos.ca.gov/

Thanks.

Just for the record:
I do not call them "scammers" (see my post above for details).

Have seen the address on their webpage. Everybody can put any address on a webpage - this fact alone does not prove
anything - we just have to wait for their answer.

Btw.: BigWheels.net is at 1265 Birchwood Drive.

I'm still feeling somewhat uneasy about Terrahash.

We have several pages of talking from them what they might have done in the past, might be doing currently, might be doing in the future (e.g. selling boards with the chips they ordered) and that they are "in talks with BKK".
- So they might be real.

The facts so far:
- They have a very generic looking website (terrahash.com)
- They hide website registering details behind a Privacy registrar; why
would an officially registered company do that:
Registrant:
TerrHash, Inc. c/o Dynadot Privacy
PO Box 701
San Mateo, CA 94401
United States
- They state they are a "Silicon valley based company" but have not provided any official company
registration information.
- They state to have ordered two #10k batches of Avalon ASIC chips.

I would like to trust them and order from them as soon as they open their order pages,
but I think we need a bit more proof:

@Terrahash:
- Could you please post a snippet of your Bitsyncom order stating:
   - The two order numbers, the order status & order date
- Could you please sign a short message with the Bitcoin address you used to
pay the two Avalon ASIC batches and state the unique payment address you used.
And post the info in this thread (bitcoin address, message, signature)
   - Some group sellers have done that in the past already, see:
      https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=192916.40  - post #57
- Could you please post some proof of your company registration (Terrahash Inc.) e.g.
an official registration no. and / or link to some official commercial register.
- All this should not take much of your time.

I think the answer to these questions could provide more trust to your company and for all
the forum members still thinking about buying from you.

Thanks for all your efforts and commitment.

There is a US group buy started by user steamboat (batch #3) which still seems to be open.

A new coin derived from Litecoin and to be mined on cpu - now that's innovative ;-)
Let's order some popcorn and beer for the late night release event....

Look at the definition of properties in the above linked post and then again ask yourself if
it is legit or serious (ROTFL ;-)

I am quite sure this SpeedlimitCoin will be released as soon as a law for a general speed limit on german highways (Autobahn)
will be introduced....Harharhar
(....inside joke - that's discussed for decades in Germany and will never happen for another decade ;-)

I really dont think ASICs will influence USD prices for 1 BTC that much. But it will influence mining profit for sure !
Might have to stop mining with my GPUs because of negative profit ;-)
...I'll try to get some more BTC/LTC before this happens.
I also expect some ASIC / FPGA like hardware solution for scrypt coins to show up in the next months.
But in the meantime scrypt GPU mining sucks a lot more power than SHA256 mining (at least with multi-GPU rigs).

I really dont like scrypt so much because of the increased energy waste compared to SHA256 (I know about
the other advantages though...)

Re: LTC FPGA Miner

I fear this will be a bit more expensive then GPU (per Hashrate).
Mainly because of the expensive high speed mem interface (max. DDR3 with FPGA currently afaik).
And the FPGA with a lot of on chip mem are very expensive. Have done some small research too, doen't
look to well currently...

There have been some discussions and calculations about this already - either in the altcoins subforums
or at litecointalk, can't seem to find it currently...

I am currently holding only BTC, LTC and FRC (but FRC not for long if they don't change their Diff. algo. soon).
All other coins, if I mine them at all, I exchange quickly for BTC/LTC.

For exchanges, I mainly use vircurex and bter.
If you want to change back to fiat you might give bitstamp a look depending on where in the world you are located.

So you shouldn't have to have posted before it counts your online minutes.
