I bought it knowing it was a highly anticipated product. I expected some type of mass backup. But, I won't de-rail a thread, so I'll just leave it at here. Thanks again for answers.

I recommend not mining on nVidia. Not only is it WAY slower and obviously less efficient than an AMD GPU, you will most likely decrease the lifespan of your card more than the few cents you would make from the mining.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison
I Harshly reccomend that you dont kill your GPU by mining bitcoins, Nvidia cards are flatout Terrible for mining bitcoins

And also, dont use GUIminer, Use CGMiner it will auto dectect flags for you
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=28402.0;topicseen

That site doesn't list the GTX 650 Ti. Also, avast detected CGMiner as a virus (specifically the file "scrypt121016.cl" and im very sure its not one, going through that file's source) so should I just make an exception for it?

flags for gtx 650 ti?

Hello, I have a MSI GTX 650 TI PE/OC and here's the chart in gpu-z:

http://gpuz.techpowerup.com/13/02/21/63y.png

I'm able to amp the shader's and the core some, but the base clock on this comes at 993 MHz (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127704)

Anyways, for this card on GUI miner, what should I use for flag's?

best setup for me?
by
Snake X
on 08/11/2011, 16:45:47 UTC
I think this is the right forum.. though not sure 100%. I have decided to get back into bitcoin mining again, and I had lost my wallet after reinstalling my os (no biggie, only like 1 BTC on it).

Anywho, what is the best setup for my rig? I am running an i5-2500k with a MSI GTX 460 Hawk edition (not hawk talon attack). I want to know what i should set my settings to in msi afterburner, and what the best flags are that I should set in guiminer. I am running the flags -v -w128 -frames 70 and using the rpcminer -cuda atm and I... (gpu *just* crashed as i was typing this) well.. was getting around 75 Megahaches until it just now crashed.

So any suggestions as to the optimal settings i should use? Also where can i learn a bit more about flags at? i remember -v and -w i think, but that's about it.

edit: any way I can make my cpu work with my gpu to do combined cpu and gpu mining in guiminer? I think that would help as well considering I can OC my cpu with 1 button.

edit 2: oh and dont worry about temps.. thats not an issue here at all

Ok, at the moment I run a GTX 460 Hawk that runs about at 915 MHz so I can do some other things. This allows me to be at about 55 Mhash's. If I bought another GTX 460 OC card, and SLI them, would that make any profit at all, or just a waste of money?

edit: also, is it better to mine in smaller pools such as bitcoins.lc or bigger pools such as slush's pool (I currently mine in that one)?

Is there such a thing? To the maintainers of the official bitcoin miner: Can you please consider making the mining application 64 bit and utilize all 4 cores that are on my i5-2500k? I would like to be able to run this program the fastest I can possible. Thanks

I just want to be able to solo mine by myself using poclbm as a gpu miner. However, I can't seem to get it working! It keeps on telling me that bitcoin is downloading blocks.. and at the bottom right hand corner it says '114649 blocks' and the number is rising. What does this mean? Also how will I know when bitcoin is done downloading blocks so I can generate coins? I'm so confused, thanks in advance!

Also what does it mean 'error connecting to RPC server'? I get that a lot too.

edit: sorry, i think i posted in the wrong category :s
