[Auction] Selling Goo.IM Domain Name
by
Snipa
on 01/09/2015, 04:27:22 UTC
Hello,

I am the original/current owner of the domain Goo.im, a long-term android rom site that's been shut down for the past 3-4 months.  Due to my lack of interest in running the site/starting it back up, I'm looking to sell the domain for BTC.  This is a highly visited and backlinked domain from Android sites.

This domain has approximately a 73,000 Alexa page rank (http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/goo.im), and it would take very little to bring this site back to full power, which was around the 20-25k mark.

Description: Domain name of goo.im, this includes a transfer to a domain account of your choice, please ensure you have a domain account ready for receiving the domain.  This does not include hosting or any supporting services.  Goo's source code was open-sourced on GitHub, and is free for download.
Starting bid: 1BTC
Buy it now: 150BTC
End date and time: 9/14/2015 01:00 GMT
Payment methods accepted: BTC
Additional information:
Proof of ownership at Name.com: http://img.snipanet.com/7wyo.png
Escrow Required via one of The Big 5 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0), paid for by seller at time of transfer.

I'll be glad to answer any questions in this thread/PM.

Thanks!

Another day, another transaction.  Not an issue with any of the coins yet, and I've gotten 2-3 so far.  Rather handy as I deal mostly in PP, and this makes my life easy.

Figured I should post on here, great transactions so far, and seems to be awake most of the day, which works rather well for me.  Would recommend these services anyday!

Re: Maximum number of Mhash to solve a block.

This thread is not about understanding how any of this stuff works, its to answer the simple question, "If my computer gets an average of 250Mhash/s, what is the maximum amount of time it would take me to solve a block, and get 50 bitcoins?"

The answer to your question, is forever.  There's no guarantee when you'll get the right block answer.  As noted before, you've got an equal chance to solve it in 30 seconds, as you do 10 years from now.  A better question is "How quickly can I mine to get 50 bitcoins if I'm in a pool"  And that comes down to your mhash/second, at 360mhash/sec, which is what my cards are avging out at, I'm doing ~7 bitcoins/month, or just a bit over 7 months to make 50 coins.  You could use that as a rough estimate for how long it would take to get a single block.  As a side note, that dos'nt take into account the tremendous rise in difficulty recently, or how much harder it's going to get to mine.  To be honest, I doubt single miners stand much of a chance, unless you're that guy who wins the lottery every time he goes and plays.

Might as well hop on the band-wagon and join the needing my 5 post minimum chain.

Just another miner who likes the idea of bitcoins and hopes to see the system survive the various ups/downs it's had recently.  Also the guy who runs http://goo-inside.me/ for mirroring android roms, though most of the people who use the site, never knows it!

A rambling PHP coder/linux administrator, projects are fun, but it sucks to have to do them one at a time, more fun to try and multi-task them to stay interested.

With about 135k blocks in the chain right now, it sounds like you're pretty far behind.  I'd suggest checking your debug logs to see if it can't connect to the IRC server where most of this is managed.  Other than that?  You may wish to wipe the entire bitcoin settings folder.

For reference, on Win 7, it should be: C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin  You'll want to make sure you've got at least half a gig free of space, as the current chain/index on my machine is about 510Mb.

As someone who's using dual 5770's (A poor gamer at heart, and my machine reflects it!)  I've found that it's not really worth the hardware investment at the moment with the massive difficulty jump to run the machine and the cards.  That being said, I've found it worth while to let my machine chew away at mining while I'm /not/ gaming, and the machine is otherwise working, as I'm usually up coding or something, so it's certainly worth letting the cards churn away IMO.
