Crown Weekly Update January 15 2018 to January 24 2018
BTC Miami Conference
Crown attended the North American Bitcoin Conference last week. It was the largest conference in North America with nearly 5000 attendees. It was attended by Fabian Olesen (chaositec), Artem Brazhnikov (artem), and Joe Connors (snoops) of the core team, as well as Jerry Ruiz, Andres Jeanton, and Mike Schleifer of Crown LATAM. The team made countless connections with people throughout the industry that we expect will propel the project that we are in contact with. Innorthvation Santander Conference
Crown also attended the Innorthvation Conference held in Santander which was the first Blockchain Conference in Northern Spain. It was attended by Victor Martin (vic) and Luke Bettles (calnaughtonjnr). There were 30 minutes to present Crown and discuss its main features. Several connections were made with prominent individuals that we are looking to work with.

Crown at Ruhr University
The Ruhr-Universtität Bochum News Portal has published an article discussing the lecture led by Ivan Labra (ilabra) and Roderic (Twister) at the Institute for Media Studies on January 15th. Students from the course Blockchain-Technology: From the Internet of Information Towards the Internet of Value submitted a proposal to the Crown governance system to fund the event. The course is imparted by Jose Herranz; a blockchain researcher at the Institute for Media Studies.

The new vlog series and blog on Medium will begin this week, but updates will continue to be posted here as well. We have calculated that Wednesdays will be the best release day for our new process. Keep an eye out for the launch!
Bitcore Implementation
Bitcore implementation is almost finished which will allow our community to use Trezor to store CRW. We are thrilled to offer this to our community so that we can all store our favorite token using the best security available.
Braziliex Exchange
The owner of Braziliex met with us in Miami and is a huge fan of the project. Braziliex is the fastest growing exchange in Brazil and wants to work with us to make Crown the biggest altcoin in Brazil. We will continue to work with him directly. Plans are being made for conferences, sponsorships and events in Brazil.

Next Release
The next release will be available within a month. This release will simplify masternode and systemnode creation, allow for updates directly from the wallet, decrease the time to first systemnode/masternode reward and fix various bugs.

The team spent most of last week working to stabilize the network and help the community with the forking event. This issue took an enormous effort from the team to get fixed during the holidays. It is still under investigation and more details will be released once following the conclusion of the analysis. We appreciate the patience and help we received from the community during this period to relay information and support other community members.

Crown and Friends of Cite Soleil Partnership
We have teamed up with the Friends of Cite Soleil Foundation to connect those that have been left out and hidden in the world to improve lives and communities. CRW can be used to contribute directly to them to make a difference in the world. The Crown LATAM team made the first contribution to these Haitian kids to share a little happiness during the Holidays. Our transparent platform can be a game changer in improving the transparency in various institutions that have been fraught with fraud.

December Proposals
We have seen a steady increase in the number and quality of proposals over time and December has been no exception. December had the most proposals submitted to the network of any month thus far! We are starting to see the beginning of the proposal system shaping into a market of competing proposals vying for funding. These new proposals if successful should help to grow our community and the strength of the project. We look forward to seeing how they turn out.

We have begun working with them and are hoping to have it completed within 10 weeks. Crown Weekly Update December 11th 2017 to December 18th 2017
Crown at Blockchain Conference Kiev
We made several contacts with businesses that are interested in our platform. We are waiting to hear back to work with them and talk about their possibilities with Crown. There was a particularly strong interest in our incentivized nodes as a possibility for passive income through the block reward. Most of our questions surrounded the governance system.

Road Map
The date for the roadmap release has been announced. It will be released Thursday, December 21st. This release represents a major step forward for our platform as we unveil our vision for the platform in 2018.
G-ME & Crown Kickstarter Campaign
G-ME has finished and released their kickstarter campaign, but it is still under review by Kickstarter. Once the campaign is accepted we will make announcements on all of our major media channels with links to the videos.

The first image of our new Crown forum has been posted on our twitter. We hope this forum can be another helpful resource for the Crown community. It will be easier to organize announcements (like this one) and find answers to common questions with a dedicated forum. We will continue to post here, but the idea is to link from Bitcointalk instead of using it as the primary hosting vehicle.

Everything is coming together for the start of a dedicated Crown vlog. The posting frequency and exact format is still being worked on, but you should hope to see the first upload in the coming weeks!

Testing on the new wallet UX featurues are going well and will be available in the next release. This release will dramatically reduce the installation time for masternodes and systemnodes.

Road Map
The team has been hard at work completing the roadmap. Team meetings have been productive towards ironing out the details for the series of releases in 2018 that have been referred to as "Atomic". It will be available in the coming weeks and display a clear vision for Crown over the next year. Our team has come into place with our new Q/A lead dzlbobo and our full-time governance developer vshamray.

Weekly Crown Update 27th November to 4th December 2017
First Commercial Hardware on Crown
We are proud to announce that we have secured a partnership with G-ME. G-ME is a tracking and communication device for children, families, elderly people and more that can enable them to register the device and its identity on the Crown blockchain. Our blockchain works as an immutable database, and the emergency information G-ME will provide cannot be counterfeited. This means that no one can change your blood type or emergency phone number. It is important to reiterate that personal information such as location, emergency phones, and diseases won't be available publically because it's not written to the blockchain in plaintext. It uses one-way encryption (hash) to do that, so the result cannot be decrypted and it doesn't reveal any information about personal data. This will be the first project built on Crown!
New Team Members
Two new team members have joined us starting today. The new developer has many years of experience in software engineering and architecture of different projects like enterprise security systems, forensics software, distributed systems etc. On previous projects, he worked as a senior developer, development coordinator and software architect. He will be working on governance part of Crown. Another team member will take the leading role of QA on the project. He also has many years of software testing experience and 2 ISTQB qualifications in testing. He worked as a senior quality analyst, and previously as a test manager and test team lead
We have worked with our marketing team to produce posts and ads that have been out since Tuesday. We have seen a great uptick in the community growth in just a few days since this effort has started and we expect the growth to continue.

Crown Meeting - Amsterdam - November 10-11th
We would like to thank everyone that came out to meet us in Amsterdam. It is always a pleasure seeing so many of us together.
We have made a huge amount of progress over the past three months releasing Systemnodes developed by Ashot, adding Artem to lead our Atomic efforts, and all our ambassadors worldwide. We are extremely confident in where we are positioned. The first Atomic API will be available in the coming months.
Crown believes in a future which is governed by its community, where the leading principles are the independence of the individual and strong social values.
Crown will provide the platform that facilitates this interaction, and powers its creation.
The project is still in its infancy. The team with the help of former Dash developers has created a solid, self-sustaining infrastructure, and is now developing features to create an inclusive platform.

The team believes the current market of ICOs is likely in a bubble. We expect there to be a big correction of the markets, where only those projects with a strong community and a real use will survive - like Amazon, Google, PayPal and eBay & co did in the dot-com bubble.

We want to grow our community with people who share our vision. People that will stick with us when the bubble bursts and the going gets tough. To this end, our communication and marketing efforts will be intensified over the coming period to reach more people.
The rationale being that up until now, we have maintained a low profile as we have not had totally unique features to market. With the release of Systemnodes and the architecture of Atomic established, we believe now is the time to ramp up our marketing. To this end, a professional marketing team has been hired to support this endeavor.
This means that you can soon expect to see a stronger online media presence for Crown. Starting with the introduction of a telegram group https://t.me/crownplatform.
Team development
To continue the momentum and build up more speed - an experienced developer has been hired to work on the Governance System full time, starting in December. He will work on integrating identity & registration on the blockchain.
Furthermore, a notarization officer - someone familiar with the legal process will be recruited. This will be someone who can take ownership of developing it.
To strengthen future releases, a part-time tester will be hired and efforts will be made to encourage community testing on Bitcointalk. Our system architect, imagineer and former Dash hangaround Chaositec will build a modular testnet, for automated testing.
Last but not least, the options to recruit a project manager or assigning this role to someone currently on the team are considered - to assist the full-time developers.
Updates
Ledger integration was funded by the community & dev team not too long ago. Unfortunately, Ledger decided that they could not support Crown integration due to potential BTC address conflicts. The funding for this proposal have been returned to the dev fund.
In the meantime we are working on Bitcore. After Bitcore is integrated we will be working on the insight block explorer. This will allow for Crown integration on Trezor. Solving the BTC address conflicts will also be looked into, and should be feasible.
During the meeting it was expressed that the current website had an unprofessional feel to it. We are looking at all angles of our project to improve, and welcome feedback from our community.

Crown will release a naming convention and define terms. To keep more consistency and avoid confusion (i.e. confuse Atomic with Atomic Swaps). Ideas are welcome, and a vote will follow at a later point to decide the naming of releases.
Dash has recently updated its block size. This is their take on solving transaction speed. Crown solves it in a different, more environmentally sustainable and at the same time elegant way, allowing for bigger theoretical throughput while staying lean. The research paper on this method will be drafted in the coming months and will be subjected to an academic peer review.
An official Crown blog will be created to provide updates on what the team has been doing (including ambassadors).

We have made a huge amount of progress over the past three months releasing Systemnodes developed by Ashot, adding Artem to lead our Atomic efforts, and all our ambassadors worldwide. We are extremely confident in where we are positioned. The first Atomic API will be available in the coming months.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say thanks for the amazing event of last Saturday! I don't often post here, but I'm active in the Mattermost chat where I originally posted this.
It was a delight to meet most of you in person. Now I also understand the vision of Crown even more than before. The new stuff about the legal framework and the agents blew my mind, to be honest. The fact that Crown envisions its place in a regulated world and new economy, combined with a smart and competent team really lets me believe in the future of this platform. Also, the stuff that the Latin American team showed was awesome and I think it is a good step towards a broader adoption. Also, the fact alone that the whole event was paid for by the proposal system proves that a self-funding platform like this can work. I'm sure it's only a matter of time until Crown will be a respected platform in this crypto space! I'm also looking forward to being more involved in the community, my hands are aching to contribute to this growing community in some way. I'm going to think about ways to do that the coming time

Hello, Crown has not incorporated anywhere at this point. A nonprofit may be incorporated later on to hold the licenses that operate on Atomic.

We had a fantastic event on Saturday at BitBrighton. The crowd was enthusiastic to learn about CRW. We were answering questions nonstop from the beginning to end with people looking to get involved. We had several people come up to us with ideas for applications to build on Crown Atomic. This is a fantastic step for us in building our community and presence in the UK.
