I'm guessing a lot of people are waiting until after the 1st of the year to sell their coins in order to cash out and realize a profit. Cashing out after the 1st of the year allows them one whole year to find tax havens such as mortgage interest and Roth IRAs.
My understanding of tax law in the US is that, for forex (and bitcoin), you pay taxes on a marked to market basis. You calculate dollars out (or dollar value of bitcoins) minus dollars in, and pay taxes on that. It does not matter whether you "cash out" or not -- the tax is the same.
If you've been hodling since the beginning of the year and haven't done any day trading, you don't have any taxes since you haven't realized profits. I think the idea here is that some of these long term hodlers may be waiting for the beginning of the year to realize their profits so the income isn't factored into their 2013 taxes when they file them in April.

Probably have better luck in mid-January when people go back for the Spring semester. I made a post in early December advertising organic synthesis service and didn't have any luck.
Dip? Crash? It's been stagnating for a while now. I think it needs to crash a bit more before it finishes the correction.
It's been a slow trickle down and bounce back after hitting about $840 (stamp).
I think we don't have quite the steam needed to push back up and we'll see a slow trickle back down into the low $700's or maybe high $600's.

I have extensive undergraduate experience with organic chemistry and synthesis and will be pursuing a PhD in organic synthesis next fall.
I currently work in a lab doing methodology and natural product synthesis research.
For 20mBtc per hour I can do your organic chemistry (no general or physical chemistry!) homework or solve problems for you. In this I'll work out the problems and show you the mechanism and electron flow for each of the reactions. I can also provide written explanation/rationale where needed, such as may be the case when working problems that ask you to rank acidity or stability of compounds. I can rationalize stereochemistry/regiochemistry with the correct diagrams where appropriate (Newman projections, Zimmerman-Traxler transition states, etc).
I have enough experience to solve any synthesis problems though most first-year graduate level synthesis programs.

This is a "return to normal" phase pushed by bulls who are trying to reclaim losses incurred from buying at the top last month. I'm guessing buy support will break before we can push to another ATH.
I'm not ruling that out as a possibility, but there was no basis for the crash other than misinterpretation of the news out of China. Now that people are getting straightened out on what it actually meant, and we're getting some more positive news (Paypal, hao123.com), I think things are feeling bullish.
Figured this would be as good a place as any for my first post. I mostly joined this forum to post in the Alternate Crytos sub-forum. I am a big supporter of Quarkcoin [QRK]. If any of you have questions about Quark, please don't hesitate to ask. More than happy to help!
