I'm stockpiling BTC in wait. Canaan knows they have to to have competitive power consumption. I would be willing to bet it will be pretty close.

When I retired my s3's and s5's I wasn't making enough money with them to pay for the electricity; or so I thought. If I had left them turned on longer I might have been paying $1.15 in electricity for $1 worth of BTC that today would be >$7. Kick me in the #@%*! I save most my coins so it really hurts. I guess if I sold them every week/month it wouldn't have mattered.
I sold them (s3's & 5's) to some teenage kid on craigs list. I should have waited to retired them only when I needed room on my panel. Live and learn.

I for one am going to stay away from those Dragon Mint miners for now. I've seen people talking them up but it still scares me. The fact that even one person is coming forward saying Halong Mining is misrepresenting them is reason enough for me to stay away (If you do your homework there several other reasons too).
There are safe/sure alternatives.
Oh and you have to spend $8550 USD + shipping and wait for months just to see if you are getting scammed. I have a day job and can't gamble but I am hoping they are legit. If its a scam its pretty elaborate.

They can be confirmed with any block. Its just a sure thing with our own.
After 100 confirmations Kano sends it out with a no or low fee that can be confirmed by any pool. I've see it take less than a day and it got included in someone else's block.

9/10 times reflashing the drive fixes this. It sucks sending hardware back that has software issues. I would follow this guy's advice.
If I connect to the controller and it will not let me change the password I have learned to just re-install the software on the controller. For some reason it a sure fire way to tell its messed up. Also if it loses its configuration when it loses power.
How do we go about courting cobramining to come back? I wonder if chocolate and flowers would work?

And big surprise you are going to find a strong "Pro KanoPool" opinion from folks in this forum.
If it surprises you go and try to get a response or explanation of how the pool operates from A*t*o*l admins in their bitcointalk thread and then come back with the link to the results. Then I'll reconsider my personal "Pro KanoPool oppinion"
To me it always seems like every time I buy a new miner, luck turns to shit. Or every time I have an important transfer, we run into 50 minutes network block and the mempool backs up and I wind up getting my transaction stuck for an unending period of time.
Human mind evolved in the world where uncertainty was dangerous. If you don't know (can't predict) whether a tiger is going to attack you - you're dead. If you can't predict the weather and the storm ruins your house and kills your cattle - you're dead. So our mind subconsciously treats "random" "luck" "variance" or anything we don't possess control of as smth dangerous. This way religions and superstiotions emerged - they gave people the illusion of control over circumstances. And if they failed (and they usually did) they told ppl it was because of their sins, bad carma or wrong sacrifice ritual, and that gave another run to an illusion that uncontrollable circumstances could still be managed.
So it's natural that it seems to you that way. Because mathematics is highly unnatural to human mind)))
Yes, I said this because I have a pro KanoPool opinion too. It was sarcasm meant to express my confusion as to why someone would be surprised to find pro Kano people in a Kano pool thread.

Hee hee lol Ya and I'm sure most people mining there don't even know enough to feel any of the burn when they are getting raped out of any tx fees in the block rewards. To be fair. Over the last 5 days, how many blocks did kano find of those large fees. Don't be so quick to judge.
Yep, the fees are coming right back down to normal.
I've been trying to watch and its going up and down. Definitely on the overall decline for now, but we will see.

and meanwhile people mining on pools like antpool who think they have low fees are going to be paying out the nose in unpaid out tx fees that antpoo skims off the top as there network engineer tip or whatever they call it. (thats one hell of a "small" lol tip.) lol lol

I think most of the people in this pool would be of the opinion that the other sha256 coins are scams that aren't worth bothering with. BCH, beyond being able to buy another miner with it from bitemain, has no proven long term value.
Its a funny desperate attempt by Bitmain to give BCH the appearance of having value. If it works it will truly count as a great scam we are all watching unfold in front of our eyes.
I never knew about people having problems with fees due to small pay outs. I mine to an address on my phone and every so often I move my coins to my savings wallet or the exchange to cash it out. I'm never in a hurry so I always set the transaction fee to .75USD no matter what the amount is. It has never taken more than two days to complete for me. Right now if I were to send one I would make the fee 0.0001023 for example with BTC 7.3k USD
Keep seeing post about people wanting S9s. If you pay 30% more for your miner than you need to run it 30% longer to pay for it right? If you have to take another month or more to pay for it why bother? They will be for sale again before that. And don't think for a minute that 3rd party dealers are selling you miners they have already. They have some that are going to come in the future then they will ship them to you. You will be waiting anyway.

Hey, does anyone know where I can get an AUC3? Apparently, you have to purchase this separately along with the miner, power supply, and controller and I didn't order one with my order back on Oct 16'th and I do not see them listed on the MinerWarz website and Caanan is Out of Stock.
I'm pretty sure all previous orders will come with it. My previous 2 orders did, they were packaged in with the miner. It looks like moving forward they are going to start charging for them on the pallet orders from canaan. It still says they come in the package on minerwarez, product description.
OK, I guess I will see if it arrives with the miner!
