You cant off the shelf. Im the one that designed this system with Padrino. My personal prototype systems are running 10 GPUs of a Gigabyte board. It requires very low level changes to how the board BIOS operates.

How have you started 10 GPUs? My personal record is 8 at the moment. And I want to start 12. What OS?

You can run 32 cards from one Motherboard using Linux Zcash miner under Ubuntu and a combination or risers and PCIE-X3 splitters. Not sure why you would want to, but you can.

Even with pcie switches how are you compiling the kernel for 8+ gpus? Much less bypassing current mobo restrictions to get over 16 gpus?

There are multiple things in play to have systems support large numbers of any PCIe card, GPUs of various types require different addressing so the specifics depend on what you are doing but in short it's a combination of the motherboard itself, the OS' ability to handle the cards/addressing, the driver (fglrx or amdgpu), Xorg, and the application using the GPUs. Currently I have 16 GPU systems as my maximum in development, the 8 GPU system has been on the market for a few months now.

I'm using mobo Supermicro X10SRL in my tests. Already done folowing:
1. Enabled option "Access above 4G"
2. All the PCIe ports are set to Gen2. I suppose, it's because of risers speed. Default speed Gen3 don't allow to work with more than 4 GPUs.

Maybe I lost something important?

In my tests I've used Sapphire R9 380's. So, driver is fglrx. Os is EthOs (based on Ubuntu).

Give me a catch please, what could be a limitation of the system?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

BTW, they contacted me to help them, looks like they are building a really very large farm.
how large?

Really large  Wink

It's a reason why we are looking for a high level professional. Every percent of power is significant.

Attention! We are looking for a linux tweaker and hardware overclocker.

We are a large Europe based data center.

We start a competition for a person, who can provide the following:
1. Overclock as much as possible GPU for mining without stable work loss.
2. Choose and/or optimize most effective GPU driver.
3. Tweak linux to improve mining speed and stability.
4. Create a self-monitoring system for miner, that minimize downtime of miners by any reason.
5. Decrease power consumpion (if possible).

Configuration:
HP desctops (several models) 3 GPU each
Sapphire R9 370/380/380x/390
Ububtu 12.04 at the moment, could be changed if needed
Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred Miner

Please provide me short information of you and your skills in mentioned areas of expertise.
Then we'll have an interview with you via skype.

Payment for this project is splitted for 2 parts: advance payment before start (based on interview) and the second after successful project finish.

All expences during the project (flight, hotel, transfer) will be payd by us.

Amount of payment will be discussed with successful candidate.

Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners

Hi

patrike, I'm choosing a monitoring software and I have questions to you.
1. Has your software any history for miners? In dashboard I can see the small part of history, some hours. But I'd prefer to have a history report either. For example, how miners has been working for a last week or last month.  Another example is how much money gave me any particular miner or a group of miners.
2. I'm using Claymore's miner. As you know, it mines ETH and DCR. But I can see only ETH statistics in miners tab.
3. Can I create event-based management? For example, if a miner not responding for 10 minutes, reboot a miner computer. Another example. If a miner hashrate is bellow treshold for 5 minutes, start reinitialization script.  All my miners are linux-based (Ubuntu). I suppose it must be a client or ssh-based managing system.

Thanks for answer!
