When did you learn about crypto, and how fast did you get comfortable with it?

I've been involved with cryptocurrencies since 2013, remember the BTC peak at $1200, the DOGE hype.
Back then I got all my information from this very website, there weren't the same resources back then to acquire the knowledge needed to get involved. As a matter of fact, I first heard about BTC back in 2011, downloaded the wallet, but never truly understood how I would go about obtaining any BTC, so I just deleted the wallet again, and forgot about it.

Long story short, a friend of mine (who's mostly in stocks and real estate) asked me how to get started with crypto. He heard about it through the media and wanted to invest a few grand in BTC.

From a newbies point of view, it still feels kind of overwhelming to get started, which made me remember the good old days where I faced the exact same problem.

I started researching projects building the infrastructure to make crypto easy, obtainable, and straight forward to get started with, and came across the Divi project, which will allow straight Bank and Paypal transactions inside their wallet.
Pretty interesting, as it eliminates the need to start your journey on an exchange that requires all sorts of KYC documents etc. The process of trading X for Y on an exchange can be overwhelming as well.

So question I'm asking myself..
Have any of you guys been through the same, did you find it hard to get started with crypto?

IDEX is the best DEX for all ERC20 tokens but a DEX that covers most of the coins is still not there. Two years is a long time in crypto world so some new DEXes will rise to fullfil this market void.

Wrong. Blocknet covers a LOT of pairs, coins and soon tokens too. https://blockdx.com/

Never heard of "infura" before, but it worries me a bit that Ethereum functions like this?

When is this ready for public use?

Devs said 2021, that's all we know for sure right now.

Would like to know as well. A few weeks ago when I logged into my metamask account, it said I had 0 tokens on it. I freaked the FUCK out, lol. I thought I was hacked or something, almost got a heart attack, lol. I read about some "Infura outage", but didn't know the technicals behind it.  Huh

Ethereum has some centralized points of failures. Nobody cares until something like this happens, haha. Funny thing is, Infura processes millions of dollars worth of fees every day, fees which could be paid to service nodes on the Blocknet chain.  Wink

Thanks, guess I need to do some research into Ethereum and Blocknet, seems really interersting, especially because I've never really seen Infura being discussed before.
