BTC is doomed to extinction if it doesn't switch to PoS. But if BTC will be switch to PoS - then it will cease to be BTC

Don't be so panic, the energy crisis is not over the whole world... There still are countries that can mine BTC

5000 BTC from Satoshi-Era Wallet Moved, maybe 3 More Wallets Wait to Send Bitcoin as they have the same origin ~21000 BTC.

It's strange that they didn't have any movement when BTC was over 50k...  Huh

Re: Ignore the dip and Invest in Bitcoin for long term

Take Bitcoin as a long term investment and just forget it like it’s in a long-term investment account.

So you mean to forget about it for about 5-10 years?

Re: Bitcoin is a Commodity according to SEC- Is this good or bad for Bitcoin?
by
SpenserReed
on 28/06/2022, 15:57:05 UTC
I think it could potentially be both good and bad. Obviously its now labeled as a commodity rather than a currency which is counterproductive to Bitcoin's intended purpose for becoming a global currency- but isn't it that already basically, just without the title?

I think the main thing bitcoin needs is to be officially recognized, no matter what the status is. It will definitely give a big boost to the whole crypto market

Re: El Salvador loses more than half the value of its reserves in bitcoins
by

on 25/06/2022, 15:27:43 UTC
According to what I just investigated, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the entity with which the Bukele government was negotiating an agreement for up to $1,400 million, urged the country to "limit the scope of the Bitcoin Law. Eliminating its status as currency of legal tender" and also expressed "concern" about the issuance of cryptocurrency-backed bonds.

So, as we can see, the U.S. doesn't want bitcoin, and other countries won't allow it either...

Re: Crypto and blockchain technology is booming in many big tech Industry, everyone
by

Here's a summary from the tl;dr bot for all those interested:
Quote
The article discusses how cryptocurrency is becoming more accepted by mainstream businesses. Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, and State Street are among the businesses that have created specialized crypto research teams in order to better understand the technology and its potential applications. The article also notes that cryptocurrency is expected to become even more popular in 2022, and that consumers should take advantage of the current opportunity to learn about and invest in the technology.

I think we can tell this about every year since 2012  Grin

Maybe in the future, if bitcoin wasn't banned in all countries.

Yes, maybe in the future, and maybe it won't be bitcoin, but it will certainly be cryptocurrency...

Re: Newbies: Don't panic and learn to hold
by
SpenserReed
on 17/06/2022, 15:35:08 UTC
Now we're previously at the peak $69K and currently the bottom is $24K (65% change) is still not beat the 2017 and 2018 history where the change is 84%, why would we panic and not trust Bitcoin anymore? Think about it.

Don't you think it might just be a new 90-95-99% record? Anything can be the first time... Huh

Re: What exactly do we call this feeling of ‘to hold to zero’ or ‘sell at loss’?

I’ve been staring at my portfolio since morning, going through my head is to hold to zero or sell at loss? Do you think this is the end for Bitcoin or we’ll reach a new ATH after this downsize?

I think, HODL of course, because it's not the first time all crypto market is dumping like this...

Re: The future of Bitcoin is set with the launch of Bitcoin academy in Brooklyn?
by
SpenserReed
on 12/06/2022, 15:56:23 UTC
The founder of financial tech company Block Inc., Jack Dorsey announced he is collaborating with the rapper Jay-Z by launching a Bitcoin Academy in Brooklyn. The Bitcoin Academy’s mission aims to empower and provide education to the region. The project’s website further details that residents of Marcy House, located in Brooklyn, New York will be eligible for free courses and other benefits like internet data plans.
I think this is the motivation we need to help create awareness in their various countries and educate our people on the benefits of cryptocurrencies.
Thoughts?

I think there are already very different ways for interested people to learn about cryptocurrency. All you need to do is show interest and a desire to learn.

What steps would you take in drawing the attention of the traders to Bitcoin?

I think there must be some benefits or bonuses for their everyday life or budget without trading crypto or investing for a long time. Quickly convert to btc - quickly spend - get bonus, for example  Huh

Re: How has SEC contributed to the blockchain industry?
by
SpenserReed
on 08/06/2022, 15:43:13 UTC
As we all know the SEC so far was established for checkmating exchange activities be it Fiat or crypto currency but it's current outburst on crypto currencies and projects is unbecoming. Now I ask to what extent has the SEC really contributed to the improvement of the blockchain industry over the years past.

I think the SEC will fight crypto all the time they both exist Grin

Re: How often do you transact in the real world with your bitcoin or digital money?
by
SpenserReed
on 01/06/2022, 15:39:26 UTC
in my country bitcoin as a means of direct payment is not yet legal

I think if you're buying something simple and not requiring a warranty, it's fine to pay unofficially. But very often you need customer protection, so it's better to pay by official means.

Re: So my portfolio is down %70...too late to pull back now I guess
by
SpenserReed
on 28/05/2022, 15:08:03 UTC
This downtrend has been detrimental to my health (mental health). Exactly %70 just now. No lunch money type of money either.

Have we ever experienced this kind of downtrend before?? What's the latest on how long this might last, or if it's even going to recover.

That's a big chance it will recover soon, just look at BTC 1W chart - we are near very strong support right now.  Cool
