The clauses you have for your arbitration system - https://smartarb.org/model_clauses
Can they already be used? Is there a fee that needs to be paid upfront?

Whose responsibility is it to pay for the smart contract to go live? If someone wants to buy a property is it the responsibility of the seller or the buyer to pay for the service? Is it possible for one party to sign the contract without owning any cryptocurrency?

Re: Depression.. the disease of our times?
by
St_3179

I think a lot of people who say that they are so depressed use the word depressed just as another word for sad. I guess it can be often perceived as a synonym of the word even though in reality it's not. But as with we say "omg I love your sweater" doesn't in fact really mean that we have feelings for the clothing piece. So in a way it's just the way we speak and throwing it out there that "God, I hate taking the bus to work, it really makes me depressed."

However, I also believe that first of all, probably the number of cases of depression has increased and a lot of it has to do for example with social media and how this is affecting people's everyday lives, how this creates the perfect ground for people to compare themselves to others and feel they're maybe not as good as other people are. All of this can make people feel insecure, alone and often lead to depression.

Secondly, I feel like all of these mental health topics have been very widely discussed recently, so of course, one thing is that people are more confident talking about their problems than they might have been before as they know they are not alone in this. Yet with the possibility to Google your symptoms and diagnose yourself with it can definitely lead to people deciding that yep, I'm in depression, even if in fact, they cannot even comprehend what it actually really is.

And then there are people who are sadly trying to take advantage of having some sort of a mental health problem as this might give people, for instance, students in some countries and universities might have some quite nice benefits that not stop with getting extension on their essays or more time to do their exam, but often also the access to new tech like laptops, printers etc that should help them to study better.

Although, I hope that we all can take a moment and think about our own attitudes when someone really says that they feel depressed, because what if it is really the case and it wasn't that easy for this person to open up? Our attitude could have a lot to do with what course their battle with themselves might take.

It is though, to be honest i quite feel that it's not just cancer but a toxic , a toxicity that bringing all the aspects of toxic and implant on our brains you know what i'm saying, let's face the reality, the sad reality that social media can kill too though. I wish we can turn back time to those moments or era that letters exist.

It's quite sad cause instead of social media is helping or a way of sharing the journey , now it doesn't , it kill.

Totally agree on the idea of toxic instead of cancer. Cyberbullying, in all of its forms, is certainly on the rise in 2018 and will most likely retain the same trend in 2019.
Bullying is more evident for people of younger generations, and while it can be to a certain degree be controlled while they`re at school or university, it becomes extremely hard to do something about bullying on the web. People feel that computer screen makes them invincible so they go all out on attacking others. It is the matter of lack of education and socio-cultural concepts, the toxicity problem should be addressed on the stage long before web - in schools and during upbringing.
I feel that yes, bullying is one problem, but the other problem is that kids (well, lets be honest, not only kids) generate their self-worth relying on social media and their followers often leading to depression when their fellow classmates and friends have far more followers and likes on social media platforms.

What is even worse is that now when having a YouTube channel and being sort of a YouTube celebrity is also popular among kids and often 14-15 year olds have quite a big fanbase, they are not quite there to ponder on what they are really saying. Often topics like "shcool sucks, why do we even need it" or "I hate my teacher" are being discussed and other kids who have created role models out of personals take up the same attitude...

What I want to say here is that all of this both bullying and sort of putting yourself out there should maybe be more up for discussion and maybe even handled and discussed at an early age what consequences all of these things might have. Maybe if kids grow up with understanding what harm all of this might cause they will be more cautious with what they are doing and saying.

Shifting a bit away from the argument that is going on here...

If anyone notices Trump happily asked yesterday on his Twitter "Whatever happened to global warming?" because there is record cold in many parts in the US for thanksgiving... so a short article for anyone who might feel the same way that how can we still have cold weather while there's so much talk about global warming.

Re: Challages faced by women in africa
by
St_3179

I think the challenges you described are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to women's rights in Africa. I know this is a wildly discussed topic, but often it seems that some people would rather look away than to actually acknowledge what is happening. One of the things I'm talking here is the female genital mutilation.

Coming with a background where the gender equality differences are not that high it is really hard to comprehend all of this and there's examples all over the world how even in some more developed countries women are not treated as anything equal. Maybe some of you have heard of how women in Nepal are forced to leave their home while on their period, because it is a "sin." Anyone more interested on the topic can be found here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/resources/idt-sh/banished_for_bleeding

Sorry, I shifted away from problems in Africa, but it's one of the things that always comes to my mind when talking about the challenges that women face from all around the world.

Re: Roberts: We do not have Obama judges or Trump judges
by
St_3179

What Trump usually and in this case also fails to to is point out facts, just saying that someone is definitely "Obama judge" and wants to speaks against everything he says, is not very bulletproof point. Also saying that "What happens in the Circuit 9 is a shame" doesn't really shine a light of what exactly is wrong there.

Whereas I think undeniably all the judges have some sort of a political view and will probably act according somewhat to that we can take Roberts statement that they do not have Obama, Trump or Bush judges but "What we have is an extraordinary group of dedicated judges doing their level best to do equal right to those appearing before them." kinda puts this in perspective in my case. Isn't a lot of Trump's fights trying to eliminate equal rights for everyone and often standing for the so-called SWM views instead of trying to make it better for all. Well, when it comes to guns he definitely sees that everyone should have their hands on them, but otherwise...

I'd say that with every political/economical system come their own pros and cons and while some might work better in one country (or seemingly work better) some indicators are just indicators and you cannot know what struggles the people really are facing and how implementing the same system will affect another place.

There's a few documentaries, like Bitcoin: The End of Money As We Know It and The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin however I don't believe there has been a full-blown Hollywood movie.... yet!
Would be quite cool though, wouldn't it. It would definitely create hype.

Marketing your blockchain project
by
St_3179
on 20/11/2018, 11:05:07 UTC
As I understand some major players in marketing like Facebook, Twitter (even google if im not wrong?) etc haven't really allowed any blockchain related campaigns go through since January. How are new projects surviving now and reaching out to people who could possibly interested in what they have to offer?

I guess one way is to advertise your project on this forum and then hold Airdrops but is there anything else that a newcomer can do when we leave out places such as cointraffic etc that will charge a lot of money.

Btw, not planning on starting a project myself, but as I have somewhat background in marketing it's just curious what has changed in marketing blockchain projects within the last year really, because it seems like a completely other area and there are so many restrictions.

Re: Airdrop alert

As I've understood even a lot of projects hold airdrops just to get people's information, isn't that right? Well of course, by airdrops they can increase their visibility and also increase their followers and supporters list, but is there even another reason why a project would want to hold an airdrop if not for gaining access to people's details?
