ich biete hier nen 10 € Gutschein bei Zalando für nur 0,02 Bitcoins an, was nach momentanem BTC-Wert ca. 5-6 Euro entspricht. Der Gutschein gilt ab einem Mindestbestelltwert von 60 Euro.

Edit: Hab gerade gesehen, dass der Gutschein nur noch bis kommenden Sonntag gültig ist. Würde ihn deswegen auch verschenken. Aber dann bitte nur an jemanden, der ihn auch nutzen will!

I don't understand this offer. In my point of view it doesn't make any sense. You could also say: "I will give 1000 BTC for free, if you are a big company and accept Bitcoins".
It is nearly impossible to "convince" a huge company to accept Bitcoins. And even if I'm successful and get a company to accept Bitcoins, why should the company tell anyone that it was me who had the idea for it? In fact, if they get to know that you will pay 1000 Bitcoins, they will just create a fake account and get the money for themselves. Even if I post in this thread that I've asked company xyz to do it, someone else (or a fake account from the company) could show up and say "I asked them 3 days ago! I was first!".
So what's the point?

Es bringt nichts, wenn wir hier alle gemeinsam bestimmte Händler anschreiben (z.B. Hardwareluxx), sofern sowieso nur einer von uns wirklich Interesse hat, dort etwas zu bestellen. Es wäre reichlich blöd und auch irgendwie peinlich, wenn ein Unternehmen E-Mails von 100 Leuten bekommt, die schreiben, dass sie gerne mit Bitcoins bezahlen würden, wenn danach dann nur eine einzige Person (oder wenige) tatsächlich mit Bitcoins bezahlt.

Besser wäre es, ganz gezielt bei Unternehmen zu kaufen, die Bitcoins bereits unterstützen. Wenn also z.B. ein kleiner Hardwareversand in Zukunft Bitcoins annimmt, sollten man dort kaufen statt z.B. bei Hardwareluxx (die sich strikt weigern, Bitcoins anzunehmen) - selbst wenn man dann etwas mehr bezahlen muss.

Die Liste der Händler, die Bitcoins akzeptieren, ist im Moment leider noch sehr überschaubar. Um Bitcoins zumindest als "Spendengeld" im Internet zu etablieren, sollten wir Bitcoins für einen guten Zweck (z.B. das Amani-Kinderdorf spenden. Die Blockchain ist für jeden frei einsehbar, jeder kann sehen, wieviel Bitcoins für das Kinderdorf bereits gespendet wurden. Wenn wir dort ordentlich Geld spenden, würden evtl. andere Organisationen sehen, dass man auf die Art viel Geld zusammen kriegt und ebenfalls Bitcoins als Spendenmöglichkeit in Betracht ziehen.
Wer also dort spendet, hilft nicht nur den Waisenkindern in Tansania, sondern auch der Bitcoin-Währung.

Ich wäre bei einer neuen Bestellung evtl. auch dabei, wenn im Bitcoint-client eine Möglichkeit eingebaut wird, die "realen" Bitcoins auf sein Konto einzuzahlen. Soweit ich weiß steht casascius ja schon mit den Entwicklern in Kontakt. Hoffentlich ergibt sich da was...

Paypal is a pain in the ass anyway. If you create a completely new account on ebay and try to sell something, you are nowadays FORCED to create a Paypal account, too!
Isn't that terrible? I will surely boycott Paypal for the rest of my life...and you should do that too, at least for buying bitcoins...

Isn't it possible to add some more bitcoins to the network in the far future? Imagine what will happen in a few hundred years. People "lose" some bitcoins every now and then and they will never get these bitcoins back. So in several hundred years, we may have a problem to use bitcoins, because there aren't enough in the network.

Is it still worthwile to buy some hardware just for mining bitcoins?

I still don't understand why you can't really use a powerful CPU for mining. Is a GPU really more powerful for these calculations?

I've mined on this server for about 30 hours with 270 Mhash/s a few days ago. I didn't receive any bitcoins at all and Luke-Jr hasn't replied to my private messages (although he has been online on the forums several times).
I think this server isn't trustworthy at all...
