Syscoin and Gulden had similar starts. Both founders weren't rich but the syscoin team took on a lot of financial risks themselves which Gulden always used a premine, development reward to negate most financial risk. Syscoin did add a once a month reward for development at a much smaller scale but  this allowed the syscoin team to continue full time on the coin.

What both teams have risked is time into both projects. Rijk with all the development he has done while working is mind blowing, if I have advise for Rijk is that he must not burnout and I hope he also gets to a situation where he can be permanently on Gulden.

You should have a look at syscoin if you like Gulden. In 2019 they reduced their block reward and added a 5% reward reduction annually.
Master nodes get 75% of the reward and miners 25%. They have a governance system where longer term masternodes get rewarded more.

I sold my Gulden for syscoin in 2020 and the coin has performed well in comparison. Gulden is still a good coin but without a reward reduction in the future after the devs increased the rewards by 80%, it left me hesitant to continue on and so far it looks like I made a good decision.

I invested in syscoin since early 2019, legend team. One in a million, they have achieved funding without having to resort to using a premine or mint funding with each block while still getting the coin listed onto multiple exchanges. They didn't expect the community or investors to do this. they realize the people that invest in their coin have jobs and other careers that they can't give the time needed where I get the impression the Gulden developers think the community is available 24/7 to make decisions and be responsible for the coins future while they take half the reward as funding.

The CMC rankings tells the story, syscoin deserve the top 300 ranking they have.

Putting money in Gulden / NOVO is similar to purposely dropping your soap in the prison shower.

All comes down to economics, the more money the Gulden community pay towards Novo the less the Gulden community will get out of the developers. Rijk is in charge of the developers as the founder on both projects and he will stipulate how the developers will use the time they have. As a developer myself I am in a situation where I have 2 managers asking me to do work, the priority has always gone towards the revenue generating work. You give more towards Novo and Novo brings in many buyers, Rijk won't give the time of day to Gulden, it's this simple. I don't have to know him to know how life works.

They made a good decision not to change the reward to 120 with SIGMA release or price would be dropping 20% due to faster supply on the market. Rijk finally understands!!
In a few blocks it will, after 1030000

Forgot about the reward change, lowered my buy order 20%

I am going to invest a small amount of btc into witnessing, place sell orders on bittrex at 115 or below and I will buy some coins. Between 100 000 and 150 000 no jokes.

I can see all the Nocks traders foaming at the mouth to sell 150 000 coins to you. You dealing with the poorest community in crypto as Rijk chased all the rich investors away.

They welcome to sell, 0.15 btc is not going to kill me if it's all lost.

Sigma in 6 days, Dump pool days almost over.

What do you mean by this ? There will be no dump

Gulden is now a very profitable coin to mine with  Scrypt by miningpools. So almost all those coins are dumped on the market daily.
In 5 days Gulden will dump Scrypt and adopt a newly developed solo mining algorithm.
This will most certainly stop the flow of coins dumped on the market, since individuals mining are more likely to keep the coins to sell them later for better price and partly also they will be put into witness deposito’s not coming to market for years.

So this mining algo change could be the best happening to Gulden price for years.

The Gulden price has shown some signs of 'not going lower' since mid August 2019.   This suggests that all the talk on this forum about pools and miners dumping is not having an effect on the price.   When someone sells, someone else must buy.   So in this thread people identify the sellers.   Who are the buyers?

One thing everyone can admit is that this coin has the lowest price for the development that has been achieved. Whether you are a seller or a buyer. I am more surprised the developers have stuck it out this long and not moved onto greener pastures at these prices.

I watch a lot of alt progress and I finally believe Gulden is doing enough to make it different enough from bitcoin, litecoin and other alts with the combination of changes it has made. PoW2, SIGMA and HD wallets, the developers need to continue on this path to make Gulden different or it ultimately won't be a success. A lot of alts claim to be better than bitcoin but simply being a little faster will not be enough for people to switch from bitcoin.

Keep up the good work and I have bought some coins to support. Not much but I want to have some.  Grin
