There's a lot more trolls and non-helpfull trolls on this newbie form, than last year... Last year it was full of positive, great idea's, and had a sense of community.. Feels like a little trashy now.. It's sad.
bad timing buddy... should have waited for the asics version
Atleast he has this to fall back on if he chooses to switch to ASICS
2. Hey, what the heck? Whyd you come out with this after I just bought a bunch of Singles. Im going to be left behind!
"We hear you loud and clear and we promise to stand by our customers through this technology change with an all inclusive trade in policy designed to protect the dollar value of your existing hardware.
Upon release of BitForce SC based Singles & Mini Rigs, all previous generation BitForce products will enjoy a full 100% trade in value when used towards the purchase of the newer generation replacements. This means your current device is protected from depreciation through this evolution in technology. This buy back offer is good for all previous generation BitForce units whether purchased directly from us or from a third party. Full terms of our obsolescence guarantee will be forthcoming.
Having said this, its also important to point out that current generation products enjoy strong relative hashing power today and that will continue to make them profitable up to and through the point of ASIC market penetration when they can be traded in."
I've been reading the mining hardware thread for a couple of hours. Not much talk about the butterflylabs singles but more about the X6500 boards. I cannot find someone that has expereicne with both or would suggest one is better then the other. There are very nice pictures of many rigs out there...makes me want to jump right in, but I'm waiting to get more info. I've also been in touch with the makers of the X6500 boards and is willing to hold 2 of them for me, but refused right now since I want to learn more about the Butterflylabs Single.
Thanks! But that seems not what I need. It says "Who needs this? - Any first-time user of bitcoin, who wishes to avoid the lengthy block chain download through the p2p network."
I need a solution for daily use. I cant download the daily blockchains of a few hundred and spend hours of downloading while my computer is freezing.
Who knows: what is the cause of slowness?
It will most likely take you a day or so to download most of the blockchain, if you decide not to use the sourceforge link or any pre-downloaded blockchain to get a head start. How many blocks have you downloaded so far? Were currently on block 185132 at the moment
