Please tell Rijk thanks for this decision. Rijk is obviously a smart person and wouldn't act spontaneously without support from the community. I give credit where credit is due.

The marketing disaster that is Gulden.

Here is a couple of questions for the general btc community.

1. Ever heard of Gulden?
2. Do you know about PoW2, SegSig and Sonic being released on the 28th June by the Gulden developers?

If you have answered No to both questions above it's not your fault but the fault of the development team that don't put any effort into marketing. Arguably the greatest update in crypto history will be ignored because the developers are too arrogant to market their coin.

I recently broke up with my gf over the price of Gulden. I convinced her to spend our holiday money when the price was over 0.31 on Nocks after a work friend told me about Gulden.

First few days it went well because the price went to 0.39 but after it got to this price it started coming down fast. When the price went below 0.25 she grew distant mentally and two days ago we had a huge fight over this and we ended the relationship. I also took money out of my savings to buy her portion of the gulden at 0.31 rate to try keep the peace but obviously this meant we couldn't go on vocation.

I knew the risks when buying but didn't explain the risks to my gf but on the bright side I got to see her true nature and I am happy we have ended it.

I started buying again to try lower my average because I think this coin does have potential and maybe if she contacts me in two years I will reply with this song.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIy3n2b7V9k

You failed investing 101. NEVER spend money you need. But, now you learned the hard way.

I got a whatsapp from my ex gf today telling me I hope the relationship was worth your bad gulden investment (basic translation in summary). Price is bad today , should I buy more to lower my average? The price keeps going down, what do you think is the bottom?

It was a mistake to involve her money , woman prefer safety over risk and cryptos are risky business which is why it's dominated by > 90% males.

I sold the rest of my coins earlier this week when there was no sneak peak promised by the devs. I have become too dissatisfied with the delays.

Farewell Gulden community and hope the devs deliver on something in the future as your patience deserve some reward. I have run out of it.

I bought Gulden tokens at the peak, and I do not know what to do now, whether to sell or not? Can he grow up again?  Sad

Just sit it out, wait for the update

And they plan some sort of an update? I just did not hear about it, now I'll wait for it, maybe then the price will go up.
Yes it was expected  "soon" in May 2017.... Now I think we are at "very soon" so I suppose the release will be done in December 2018 , or may be in 2019 , or why not in 2020 ... if the coin is not dead before

Rijks brother has done 2 iOS updates in 4 months, why can't he help the other devs finish PoW2 and SegSig?

Gulden iOS Development Update

These guys are getting the hang of it, tease away Boys!! 👊

http://guldenbites.com/2018/02/28/ios-development-update/

So there is an announcement that there will be an update on IOS wallet in the future (#soon) that contains no real improvement other than the statement there has been a lot of work done on reorganizing the code?

Wow!  Roll Eyes

Of course this is the first real accomplishment (or at least a rumor of one) of Rijks brother Rits, who has been absorbing a fulltime salary since he joined the dev team almost a year ago. Yup, seems he got the hang of it indeed  Grin

It's the only development from Gulden this year, Rits works fast as he did update 4 months ago but is the quality going to be good with short development time he had? With the Core it's taken 1 and half years for a update and quality could be good.

Are you going to recommend Gulden to your friends and family?

I recommended ... shame on me !

Now I recommend it to Rijk Family

I tell kids who I don't like to invest in the G to the n.

Hi Krusty,

I will share my full experiance with people, both the upside and the downside of the coin. On the basis of that they should make their own judgement.

I do believe that the coin has several strengths, they have a solid and easy to use app with a growing number of merchants within the Benelux region that are accepting the coin. There is a development team that has done some updates in the past, hope they can conclude the bigger projects as well, Nocks which is very closely related with Gulden will be adding new exchanges along with Gulden Trader which will also do the same,  moreover, many of the users of Gulden have opened up Gulden associated company/ blog further increasing the potential of the coin.

I think the downsides that I have seen with Gulden have previously been stated. For now, personally, I will be steering clear of this coin, should the update come out, I might pump a bit.

Who is Waterloodown, zonefan said we should speak to him. I didn't see a Waterloodown on slack.

A few years ago he was appointed as community manager... Haven't heard much from him since like... 2-3 years? He is a cousin of MaNi (he brought MaNi on board).

The coins value was much lower 2-3 years ago, since he left the price has gone up higher every year.

Rijk finally getting a compliment from you?

We almost have our bags fill before the update, no more point creating FUD. Gulden is a great coin. Will post again after the 2.0 update and wish the team good luck!!

NLG is staying behind in value compared to many other at least as interesting altcoins.
If BTC goes up, SAT value of NLG goes down most of the times.
Also, there is hardly any volume in NLG, so we can conclude general interest in Gulden is very low.
Which is fairly logical, as more and more people start to question the development team.
There are just some traders trading on the penny, making a small margin between bittrex and nocks.

So far there is no proof, -for over a year-, if the Gulden team really is as brilliant as people say or they themselves think they are.
They have been testing for over 12 weeks now, after a period of automated testing and small inner circle testing.
The feedback is still close to zero.
Apparently they do not possess the ethics to properly and regularly inform their community who funded them with 600+ BTC
and made them financially independent.

Their repetitive arrogant "It is ready when it is ready" reply is very annoying.
The Gulden slack is a sad over-censored environment.
They even have bots in place that remove other coin names if you should type them.
And everytime anyone asks a good or smart question they do not like, there are warnings and removals.
The slack is run in a very scary totalitarian way.

Anyway, the complete Gulden 2.0 update has to be delivered February 28th latest.
Then we will see if there is some justification in their arrogant above-and-beyond stance.

I was banned from slack for having an opinion, I plan to dump when I can get out with a profit.

Same here, got banned last night, I merely stated that gulden was at rank 204 in the "traders" part of the forum, appearantly this was a reason for being banned from slack, a little harsh is my opinion... So much for the gulden coin being owned by the Gulden community...

Get in line, a lot of people are going to dump when the price goes up 50% from this levels. This coin has a lot more to fall as there is no good news from development, marketing, exchanges and most important the community is in a trapped environment that is plastic and not real.

How do you know release is months away  Jim because the Clown has other news?  Grin

2 community members bet PoW2 would be out in June - August last year... until we see some proof I am going long on the release date.

But then it is allrdy a long time and they are now testing so when testing is finished it is a done deal.

I think and hope testing does not take 3 months.  Roll Eyes

Gulden back @ 0.13 euro @ Nocks

If you look @ last 7 days stats Gulden is doing much better then all top 20 coins except Tether offcourse.  -10%  vs most other coins -25% or above so that's a good sign i think  Huh

Why don't traders dump Gulden by 50% and buy in at May before the update in July. They will get more Gulden this way.

Facts remain facts people!

The statement that drew my attention was as follows:

"No one can be held accountable for anything in Gulden, for Gulden is nothing. There is no company and no one gets paid to do anything. There is no authority and everyone is able to contribute the way they like"

This is the short version of this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1495990.msg29510851#msg29510851

Well, here come the facts:

- Gulden is a blockchain based token that is centrally managed and developed by a company called Gulden.com B.V.
- The company has several people on it's payrol, including Rijk Plasman and his brother Rits Plasman.
- The company pays a hired developer in South Africa, Malcolm Macleod by the hour for software development.
- The salaries and invoices from these people are paid from funds that were attracted by selling shares to the community.
- Those shares are backed by Gulden tokens that were reserved in the premine that was initially meant to be fairly distributed among the Dutch citizens for free.
- A vast majority of the active community has always been against this self-enrichment by the team.
- Although the BV was created at a later stage (to prevent tax fraud charges), it's a fact the team is paid for their involvement for over 2 years now.
- By deciding to pay Malcolm for his work with community funds and drawing fulltime salaries for himself and family Rijk should accept he is accountable for any progress by this team. That includes delays and failure as well.
- Since Gulden.com is a centralized platform, owned by a single person who bans everyone that criticizes his decisions it's fair to state there is an authority at work here.

We already have over 5 different ANN's on this forum alone of which the last one is so heavily moderated it looks more like a blog. They are already at their third Slackchanel, that is totally off limits to anyone that even dares to comment on anything the company decides.

So, my personal conclusion would be, base your decision on facts, rather than the lies that the Gulden zombies try to feed you here!

Has any development taken place since the 600 btc, how do we know it hasn't been used on Island holidays, drugs and prostitutes? Living the high life and only have to work on excuses for the delays.

Why everybody give a shit about the update release date ?

-If you believe in them, just let them do their job, they will release when ready. March or august, what difference ? Quality is what they are after, so It would be damn stupid to rush for idiot speculators.

- If you don't believe in them, tell us why once and for all, and go speculate on a get rich quick shitcoin with no product.

The longer the update take the more speculators lose faith and dump for a loss. I am saying they must dump and go invest in get rich quick coins.

Gulden doesn't have any rich investors and must rely on dev updates to get people interested. The longer the update take the lower the price.

You know I am right.

Yes, you're right, you can try to speculate to win (or lose) a few satoshis, but in the end it's mostly talking to say nothing.

Gulden rely on about 100,000 peoples that are using it everyday in the Netherlands. If you go buy your coffee tomorrow, it doesn't really matter if the update is released or not.
As an investor, I hodl and if I have to hodl 2 more months, it's all the same.

I am holding for the long term but for me getting in at under 2000 sat will gain me +- 5000 coins extra and we know this coin will be worth 10 Euros in 4 years. 5000 * 10 = 50 000 Euro gain for being patient and letting the dump continue.

Under 2000 sats by tomorrow.  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Long term this coin is a buy at these prices. Short term traders will use fear of the delay in the update to push the prices down. Take advantage below 2000 sat.

The tone of the last dev update tells me the release is far off. Get the dump over and done with so we can start collecting under 1000 sat.

This is a bad coin i recommend everyone to sell it asap before too late!!!

(Just kidding i want more oppurtunitys to buy low but thats not gonna happen quickly with the gulden)
Unfortunately gulden now is staying on good level if compare to its past but now imo is good time to buy it cause it has a little down.

Not if bitcoin goes up, there is a little trick. Nocks price in Euros won't move much , it's very stable. Bittrex has to dump coins to match Nocks price when bitcoin goes up. I can say it in the open, won't change the fact this what occurs. Early Jan btc will be $20k and Gulden will have to go down on bittrex to match Nocks stable $0.15 - $0.19 price.

It's nice to see NLG finally mooning but I am experiencing what some have been mentioning here - the insane censorship by Rijk.
Mentioned on Slack that, since almost all other alts have been mooning, it's no wonder that NLG is finally catching up. This resulted in a ban for 'discussing other alts', without even mentioning any specific coins. I feel sorry for Rijk for pretending to live in a world where only Gulden exist.

I could live with that, most of the alts are just marketing scams. Why would you want honest people getting involved with the shenanigans out there. Gulden is a real legit project.

are you related too rijk. He says the same bullshit, He started the same as the rest of the coins and there are a lot of other coins that are also legit and have a future.

Why is this coin only ranked 175 if it has a future ?

You are looking at the wrong chart 😘
Check out the euro-nlg chart. 🎉

Who cares about dirty fiat?

Haha the typical reaction of an crypto-idiot. It's only good if the BTC value of a crypto is rising? What a disaster for you this year.  Tongue
Even Rich Pissmann has admitted that the value increase of Gulden was much bigger than BTC this last year.  Grin

How can the value increase of NLG be much bigger than BTC over the last year if it's gone down like 10x certain BTC over the past year. Do you even math bro?

Gulden is also progressing well on CMC, ranked 160, with a bit more effort we can push this coin to new heights. By the end of the year with all the marketing taking place I expect a rise to rank 200 and with a lot of effort a rank of 250.

... Gulden the fastest depressing coin on coinmarketcap

It will go rank 200 before the update. This is where I plan to buy the bulk of my Gulden. Hold the btc and let the Gulden price collapse to 500 sat. This is a good time to buy.

Gulden hanging with whitecoin and OKcoin on coinmarketcap. I thought those 2 coins were dead?

An update, nice. Now what? test in december and Q1 and release Q2 2018?

From the developer

Probably 2 weeks at an absolute minimum, there is no maximum as it depends on how many issues are found.

Can you find out from the development team how hard it will be for coins with good marketing teams and rich investors to copy this update?
