Re: [ANN] [2GIVE] / UPDATE

TY for the much needed and much welcomed words reporting on progress.  Good work uncommunicated causes suspicion, particularly when investors are putting dollars into project.  I spent a few decades teaching university students PR and marketing.  Suggestion: contact faculty in those programs to get student help with social posts as part of an internship, club, or class project. No funds from ICO for communicating, eh?  Are you the only developer?

It's not real news.

I am the primary human behind the project and we are absolutely maintaining and expanding the coinbase.  We have been silently working on the implementation of our "Proof of Giving" (POG) code now since announced last year.

The system basically allows a POS holder the ability to designate a percentage of their interest to be donated to approved charities and causes.

We are also continuing to work to remove the BDB system and use a pure SQLITE engine for block indexing -- we already have it implemented for the contact list and the GIFT card registry.

Work has stalled on migrating the doabitofgood.com site over into 2give.info -- but that will get picked up in 2018.

We are continuing our research on the best method to implement a "digital notary" feature that would allow 2GIVE holders the ability to take official credit for their Give* addresses but also build out a reputation system based on a "web of trust" model as envisioned in http://[Suspicious link removed]/idcoins

ALL of this work is an important part of Strength in Numbers mission and is now being supported commercially by Silicon Prairie Online (https://sppx.io)

I know that everything in "internet time" seems hyper compressed, so I do apologize for the delays in updates.  I have always been a fan of "under promising and over delivering" as well as "doing it right not over"

It was a lot easier to tinker with the chain when no one cared about it and it had a market cap of under $100K

Now we must be more thoughtful and careful about the changes we implement.

Apparently, a coin calendar posted a snapshot of a 2givecoin tweet that said that an important event is to happen tomorrow.  I can find nothing else anywhere -- searched Twitter, FB, their site, 4chan, telegram, discord looking for pump info.  So far, I've found nothing else.  Notice the volume, which is usually ranging between 3 and 7 BTC and is now at 215 BTC.  Amazing that so many know about this and yet... I can find zip other than that calendar.  Have you learned anything more? I out of it right now as I'm fearful a lot of people are going to be holding expensive coins.  I'll change my mind if I learn of something behind this event ..

This project looks dead -- reviewed the github, reddit, twitter -- no humans doing things.  Anyone know anything different?

ICO part is too little, the team is too greedy, no way.

Huh?  Have you ever started a business?  Greedy?  Oh c'mon.  Start a biz and then come back and say that.  Most people who are employees have not a clue as to the stress, hours, labor, dogged day in and day out determination needed to raise something from nothing -- and then having to be hit in the face with "greedy" is well, just downright mean.  No, I'm not part of their team but I have started and run three businesses, so I speak from experience.  Do you?

This is from their whitepaper:

A finite amount of 1.2 billion tokens will be issued. Of these 1.2 billion tokens, 25% will be made available for the token sale. There will be a lock-in period of 2 years for any unsold tokens.

The token distribution event is capped at 85362 ETH.

1 DOV = 0.00032001 ETH.

The minimum to participate in the pre-sale is 142 ETH.

I'm impressed with DOVU biz plan but I'm getting pushback from others.  I'm wondering if the DOVU group would consider doing a Discord AMA to help connect the builders with the people.  I'd be happy to spread the word.  I know others who would do that also.  Possible??

In the process of selling all my PDC. So far that's taken 20 minutes and all of my coins still are not sold.  Why? Gotta have buyers. People trade/invest to earn gains.  Tech is important; gains hit home. There is too little energy here, too litle news, vol of almost 3 BTC, a pumper that controls, well, periodic pumps through his/her sell walls and zip to keep me here.  Good luck to all of you , though.  I hope it turns around for you.

Thank you.  I'll make my own trading decisions, however; what I need an answer to still is whether there is a professional, strategic publicity program underway and under the auspices of a professional in the field.  Good works uncommunicated are equivalent to an amazing band playing in the middle of the desert, far, far from people.  No one really cares about the good work.  No one knows.

I'm watching the volume (2.4 BTC right now) and price drop on this coin -- and wondering if anyone has a full-time job of publicizing the coin, particularly as I compare the vol. to September 9 at 456,932.  I understand the timetable although 40 years gives me considerable pause. I've started/run 3 B2B businesses over 40 year period and I can't recall ever having a 40 year timetable for any project; the minions would get quite restless at that timetable.  I'm debating selling/holding (ST only) but as I make my decisions, what is coming into play is publicity effort.  Without any consistent strategy to stimulate and retain awareness, I do not see any reason to hold.  Might sell/return later and see if things have changed.  At this point, though, I'd like to know if there exists a publicity strategy.  From what I can see online, it appears there is very little.  Am I missing reading articles on the progress somewhere?  I've ckd facebook, twitter, cryptopanic, here, the site -- won't join Slack as I"m slacked out / too many phishing effors there also.

Anyone care to chime in?

I understand and empathize with "this will be great in a few years" sentiment but I can only work in the present as we do not know what will happen with any certainty in the future.

Thanks for any feedback.

Re: ANN [PTOY] Patientory Healthcare on the Blockchain
by

This project has resulted in a clinician strongly calling into question the reputation, claims, team and approach of PTOY on reddit under r/cryptocurrency.   As someone whose family members have suffered from the medical communities failure to find a common-sense way to make our medical records seamlessly available, I am a strong advocate of change in this arena.  If PTOY is the answer, I'd like its leaders to refute the claims made by the clinician dr_blockchain on that reddit.  Here is a copy/paste:

Background: Recently I attended a CIO roundtable where we had participants from most midwest and east coast health systems + 1 national health system. One of the topics discussed was blockchain.
We reached a consensus that for the following reasons blockchain solutions will not be deployed at scale in the US within the foreseeable future:
(1) Incumbent major EHR companies and their strongholds in health systems' IT departments
(2) Industry regulations and lack of guidelines/compliance measures
(3) Potential implementation costs
(4) Technical challenges vis-a-vis blockchain in medical record management that are yet to be resolved! See the MIT case study!
(5) Healthcare systems are the most risk averse corporations you can find - cultural challenges
A couple major red flags about patientory(PTOY):
1-Their team is severely underequipped to handle what they claim. They lack not only the technical expertise but also the management capabilities to build meaningful senior executive relationships
2-They are outrageously overstating their "partnerships". One of the roundtable attendants knows Rick Daniels and knows for a fact that KP (Kaiser) is not pursuing any blockchain solutions at scale.
Calling out Michael Rubin (the Director of Communications for Patientory) - Patientory's claims of partnering with Kaiser bordering on fraud. I strongly recommend that you take Kaiser's logo off your website. You are misleading token holders for monetary gain.
PTOY's partnership with Kaiser is probably the pet project of a mid-level manager (director of X at a regional market) at most. Their other partnerships are basically incubators that provided them early funding to test out ideas.
3-Their "foundation"...Does anyone seriously think that a CIO would pay up $250K to become the member of an obscure entity that has no industry relevance?
Stay away. This company will be on the news like Theranos. Soon.
