Re: Why I love posting on this section
by
SuperMariob
on 06/07/2022, 12:13:51 UTC
Because I don't want to be bothered. I try as much as possible to avoid sections where my intention may be misunderstood, for example I'm mainly on this forum for the passion/talents, but when I notice that posts that should be making people happy and hopeful are doing the opposite, I tend to assume they are not as passionate as I'm, so I avoid such sections as much as possible... unless it's necessary to post there. Besides, I love where humble people are and detest pride. I try as much as possible not to see people (even those below me) offended by posts, so I do that where they will be less offended

I perfectly understand you. There are many "keyboard lions" online. Very aggressive, very easily offended.

Or you could start your own website or blog. It takes some time but it can be really successfull.

Re: Bitcoin is freedom money
by

on 05/07/2022, 15:49:00 UTC
Fiat remains more important to most parts of the world than bitcoin, many bitcoiners have their bitcoin sitting in their wallets while they use fiat for their daily transactions, bitcoin is freedom yes, but it is more of a freedom asset now than a freedom money because it is not so much accepted as a medium of exchange in so many places. Majestic-milf i can be certain you will use fiat today, but i can say the same for bitcoin. When bitcoin becomes a popular medium of exchange around the world and people use it as money for daily transactions, then it can in the complete sense be freedom money.
Bitcoin is a freedom currency in terms of management. But for exchanges in terms of comparison with fiat currency, bitcoin is still far from all this stuff indecencies it has gathered firms. Yes of course cryptocurrency has much firms in the world currently but not all the countries Bitcoin is allowed to operate. And not everything Bitcoin can purchase in every nation. It still have alot of ways to go irrespective of it adoption and it recognition in the world, bitcoin still can't be popular as fiat currency.

I think it will never be possible to use fiat to buy itmes across the the world. Bitcoin is more an asset than a currency.
It's like wanting to pay with gold for your groceries. It will never happen.
Other crypto could be used as common currencies. But I think we will see stablecoins doing that. And not assets with high volatility like ETH or BTC.

Gives us the hope when price spiked today. I did look  my chart over and over today thinking something is change my speculation of the trend. Zooming in to 1hr and 4hr chart will still be good accumulate by trading.

I'm also not a Bolinger user but the indicators I use have served me well in the past. It will take weeks to months before we see a real bounce to change the market trend. September perhaps won't be the usual Sept.

Better not to look at the charts too often these days  Grin

While I don't think a rally is coming soon for the altcoin but a market recovery is possible but it's still pretty small. Do your analysis, don't trust too much on the micro-bounces you see on the chart because it's normal when lows are hit.

You may be able to make the decision to invest and diversify your assets with multiple altcoins, but you also need to be pretty sure that the trend is very dependent on how traders and investors treat bitcoin in the market. While the bitcoin price has still failed to break through the $22K to $25K resistance, so if you're pretty sure about altcoin rallying then I hope you should consider the risks. Don't be greedy, I suggest you wait a while and do a good analysis before making a decision.

Very hard to predict what will happen. I think this bear market cycle will be different from the previous ones.

Think about those people who use Alexa & Apple Home  products. They’re even worse than Google, I don’t know why people use these type of things, it’s so bad for their privacy.

I use them. But I admit I'm really worried about my privacy. The problem is that I love tech and all my home is handled by Alexa. Songs, lights, even window shutters.

Not really. Even in crypto rich people will get richer.
But if you are smart you can make anyway some good money.

Re: When I started driving.
by

I've just had my 80th birthday, and I've been reflecting on some of the changes I've seen. When I started driving I could ask for 4 gallons of petrol ( there weren't any serve yourself pumps then), and I could give the attendant £1, and say keep the change. $ gallons today will cost over £36, and I have to serve myself. They keep saying inflation is low, but that doesn't seem low to me. Right now the producer price ines is up over 36%, and that is a more realistic indicator than the retail price index bandied about by the government.

It really does seem to be a way for the super-elite with their hereditary wealth to increase their asset value at the expense of the bulk of the population.

Probably they are just trying to force us to buy electric cars.

From the graph, it shows that in 2010 from a low of $0.09, it rose to $26.90 by 2.960%. fast forward to 2014-2015, we experienced a price dipping from a high of $1,238 to $687.50 then to $315.21.
Bitcoin holders experienced surplus in the period of 2016- 2021. In October of 2021, it climbed to an all time high of $68.991k but slumped to $49,243k in Nov of the same year.
Coming to 2022, we've had series of price fluctuations with recent lows of $17,700k. This is not the first time BTC slump is experienced in the market; so if there was a massive spike in 2013, 2019 and 2021, then possibly we should expect a price rocketing soon and this time it will be above $100k.https://bitcoinmagazine.com/culture/bitcoin-price-action-does-matter

Very good chart and very good analysis. Thanks for sharing.

Another Country Adopted Bitcoin as a Legal Tender.

Central African Republic adopts bitcoin as legal currency

Quote
The Central African Republic has adopted bitcoin as legal tender, the president's office said Wednesday, becoming the second country in the world to do so behind El Salvador.

Lawmakers unanimously adopted a bill that made bitcoin legal tender alongside the CFA franc and legalised the use of cryptocurrencies, and President Faustin Archange Touadera signed the measure into law, his chief of staff Obed Namsio said in a statement.

The CAR "is the first country in Africa to adopt bitcoin as legal tender," Namsio said.

"This move places the Central African Republic on the map of the world's boldest and most visionary countries," he declared.

PRESS RELEASE

The President of the Republic, Head of State, Professor Faustin Archange TOUADERA took note with satisfaction and enthusiasm of the unanimous decision of the National Assembly relating to the bill which establishes the legal framework which governs crypto-currencies and establishes Bitcoin as the official currency in the Central African Republic. The adoption of Bitcoin as an official currency represents a decisive step in opening up new opportunities for our country.

Through this historic decision, the economic recovery and peacebuilding plan is entering a new phase and the Executive is demonstrating consistency in the application of the agenda which provides for the achievement of strong and inclusive growth for the benefits of development and economic performance, which ultimately will generate prosperity for our fellow citizens.

The President of the Republic, Head of State will support all the necessary efforts, in compliance with the law, in order to complete this process which places the Central African Republic on the map of the most courageous and visionary countries in the world, to everything that means and implies the acceptance of cryptocurrencies as means of payment. The Central African Republic is not only the first country in Africa to adopt Bitcoin as a benchmark currency but also the first country in the world to unanimously adopt the bill that governs cryptocurrency. We are setting out on a new path that will mark a new stage for our country while being aware of the difficulties that we will have to face to pursue our mission.

In a progressive, forward-looking vision, our Nation must be able to pursue its destiny and join the ranks of those who not only fully understand the importance of Blockchain technology but also hasten to legislate.

Our priority is to think about how the lives of our fellow citizens will change and about the means necessary to create a stable and prosperous economy. We must do everything in our power for the common good, bearing in mind the heritage that we have a duty to leave to future generations.

The news is not completely unexpected though, as Bitcoin Magazine published an article on the setting up of the legislation allowing this decision:

CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC LAUNCHES LEGAL FRAMEWORK FOR ECONOMIC USE OF BITCOIN

Quote
  • The Central African Republic is developing a legal framework enabling the economic use of cryptocurrencies like bitcoin.
  • The Finance Minister explained they will not be replicating El Salvadoran legislation that made bitcoin legal tender.
  • Infrastructure development will be required to achieve wide-spread economic use of cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin Magazine produced another article on the matter:

THE CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC ADOPTS BITCOIN AS LEGAL TENDER

Quote
The Central African Republic (CAR) has adopted bitcoin as legal tender, the president’s office said on Wednesday.

The move makes the African country the second nation in the world to officially adopt BTC as a lawful currency, enabling its citizens to use it in regular commerce as well as to pay taxes.

CAR lawmakers unanimously approved a bill legalizing the use of cryptocurrencies in the country and making bitcoin and the CFA franc legal tender. President Faustin Archange Touadera then signed the measure into law, his chief of staff Obed Namsio said in a statement.

We have to remember that The Central African Republic is in a monetary union together with other Sub- Saharian States, adopting the African Financial Community (CFA) franc.

This peg has been actively used by the French authorities to actively rule that region.

More and more countries will follow. El Salvador was the first one. Now some Afrtican counetries are coming. With the inflation rate growing every year we will see more and more countries adopting Bitcoin as a legal tender. Probably not in Europe yet....

Re: [CHART] Bitcoin Inflation vs. Time

Bitcoin will never be affected by inflation. We can not "print" new bitcoins. So inflation will never be a real problem for it.
Bitcoin is not an asset with "limited" quanitity. It's an asset with a quantity that we already know and that can never be changed.

The best solution would be a peer to peer transaction.
Also please note that some exchanges allows you to withdraw even without KYC but with some daily or monthly limitations.
