I hate reCaptcha too, but the fact is that it works.

The other captchas that people throw together themselves in a weekend, though, those are just embarrassing.

You can convert BTC into other currency at an exchange. They usually allow you to then wire the money to a bank account - I think if your bank is in Europe you can do this for no extra fees (from the bank).

Hi, I've been occasionally lurking for a year now (and mostly deterred from participating by the newbie restrictions) but I've decided to think about a few Bitcoin-related projects and it will be easier if I could discuss them in an appropriate subforum (like development).

Can you let me in since I've fulfilled the requirements?

Isn't it theoretically possible to crack the hash of existing bitcoins to "recover" (or rather forge) them?

So is the restriction lifted automatically? I thought you had to post in the sticky thread.

Put your wallet.dat inside a TrueCrypt file (or passworded rar if you are tech illiterate) and stick the rar on your flash drive. Include a portable version of WinRar and the bitcoin client just in case.

And please somebody tell me why do I need to post it here ? What does it prove?

It helps transparency and establishes a culture of trust in the community.

"Stealing" users' computing power for practically nothing makes no sense at all. People who can and will donate something, will do it via your address - not by lending their computers for you.

Also, for crying out loud put some content to the site! Now it's just a black login screen (and black registration screen). How would anyone know what they're even registering for? Few screenshots, some explanation what's going on and such for the starters.

I don't necessarily agree.  If it's disclosed as a game/miner then why not?  I would give the option for people to turn it off if they want, but put a miner in if you want IMO.

Wasn't one of the points for it that it could replace advertising and save you the trouble of looking at ads?
