Good post, this answered a lot of my questions about how long to hold an asset. START and a couple others from last week were absolute fire picks.

I think Ryan is the real deal.

I'm a complete n00b who only started playing with crypto a few weeks ago. Decided to give Ryan a shot because what the hell? I have a good investment background but know very little about altcoin technology or trading.

This was my first week with Ryan's service and my altcoin portfolio's net jumped over 40% in the first couple of days. I probably would have done better if I didn't make a few rookie mistakes.

I also appreciate that Ryan has sent out a message about every other day with updates on the market and his picks which has been immensely helpful. He's also good about answering clients' questions and teaching you ways and strategies to think about the market.

My only complaint would be his IRC is down this week and I haven't received anything beyond just messages from Ryan. But outside of that, everything has been excellent about Ryan's service.

Take everything with a grain of salt and I don't agree 100% with everything Ryan says but initially I'm thrilled with his service and hope to be a long-term client of his. I would definitely recommend giving him a shot if you're interested or curious.

All very well but how do you get involved?

Give him a day to get back to you in PMs.

I threw some points at Ripple today. The way that coin is acting on the market is so weird, something is up with it. Outside of that I've just been selling heavily gather BTC for the next round.  Grin

Just bought 4k Ripple Coins. We've been watching it all day on TrollBox. Whats interesting is the price is being manipulated heavily by bots. Try to buy Ripple coins below market value on Bittrex or Polo and see what happens. I'm really interested to see where this winds up.

Been doing well today. Making a lot of quick sales. I bought a 30k shares of POT when it was at .0000039 and I've been slowly selling it off today averaging around a 10% profit as the price as been slowly bumping up all day. Really pleased with this stock and its fun selling POT.  Grin

Also made a couple of small moves in VIRAL picking it up for .00004948 and moving a some of it for .00005500 for a quick 11% profit but price spike on that one only lasted about a hour before interest was lost.

I'm hoping GRID takes off.

Really kicking myself for not getting into ARB. I swear to god I was staring at it last night while researching and thought it was prime for a pump but decided against it as I've got some bad losers in my portfolio right now and didn't want to risk it. Sure enough it exploded today and has been the biggest winner of the day so far.

All in all though, not doing badly.

One strategy I want to try is to buy up coin late at night as it seems prices drop and there's much less activity and then sell during the day but I need these couple of losers to do something or get rid of them before I start accumulating again.

Totally man, I'm pretty into this. Its also amazing how small this activity is right now. I would bet there's less than 100,000 AltCoin traders in the world and maybe only 10,000 are active in a day. It presents a really fascinating, challenging and unexplored landscape.

I quite frankly embarrassed how much I got murdered in the first few days. Biggest things I've learned is to research and read everything you can find on a coin before you make a move on it.

And the biggest thing I've learned is it doesn't matter what the actual value of the coin but what the perceived value of the coin is. For instance a coin's value can be one thing but the only thing that matters in terms of trading is an exchange's perception of it at the time. I've noticed BTC38 is extremely inflated with their values not coming close to the actual price where Bittrex is quite competitive. Always be up to the minute on your prices using coinmarketcap as sometimes you can make sweet deals before other people know what's happening being up to the minute.

Right now I'm treading water but at least I'm not getting my head kicked in. I've been doing alright since I've gotten a basic understanding of how this all works.

This guide really helped me as well and helped turn my game around

I think I'm going to give Ryan Pumper's group a shot.

Right on man, good luck on your endeavors. I'm in the same boat as you. I have some BTC floating around and just discovered AltCoin trading and I've become absolutely obsessed with it over the last few days. I am so fascinated with this new technology and market. I've thrown a couple BTC into the 3 different exchanges and now own 11 different coins. I admit I got my ass handed to me the first few days because I was learning this game but slowly I've been turning it around little by little. I was thinking of making a thread like this as well to track progress and invite others to discuss their portfolios and strategies but didn't want to clutter the forum with my n00bness. I'm interested to follow this thread and hope others contribute.

It's always interesting when new coins pop up on BTC38. I've noticed the coins they offer all have very similar investment profiles and all seem to increase while they're on that exchange. I picked up a bunch of Cryptonite today when I saw it hit their market. I'd be curious to know what BTC38s approach and intent is but I'm enjoying it in the mean time.

This is incredible watching GRID take off. It's the first rocket I've gotten ahold of on the market. Looked at it's history and studied it yesterday after watching it drop so dramatically. Picked up 16k coins at .00000389 and now I'm loving watching the little line shoot up. I believe it's pumped 26% in the last 90 minutes.

cryptrader.com was fairly crowded for some time. Also quite a community at twitter.
Other than that there's countless reddits and teamspeak chatrooms, IRCs and what not. Most are invite only. But be careful with the IRC's because your computer could be infected with malware. Don't use the trading machine for IRC.

For tracking prices most people use http://coinmarketcap.com

I absolutely love coinmarketcap, I've been roving it a lot. I think they have the best up to date prices and easiest to understand information of any site I've found so far.

Two questions from a new enthusasist

Forgive me ignorance, I'm relatively new to the cryptoexchange game but its absolutely changed my world. I find myself spending hours a day pouring over charts and constantly refreshing financial information on my investments. I'm wondering if there's an easier way to keep track of prices in real time and make this all a little easier? Like a real time ticker or something to that effect?

Also, since I have your attention. Are there any forums or web communities devoted exclusively to crypto-trading? I love bitcointalk but there's a ton of information smashed into two sub-forums and I'm wondering if there's a better place to follow the market with other cryptomarket-enthusiasts?

Thank you.  Grin
