Re: Average savings across the globe
by

on 02/11/2019, 18:32:45 UTC
The average personal amount of savings are between $ 2,900 for the USA and ¥ 5,806,554 for Japan. The USA comes last in our ranking, but their neighbor Canada is one of the richest countries regarding personal savings.

https://www.expertmarket.com/focus/research/countries-that-save-the-most-money

I highly doubt the statistics behind those numbers, is that a typo? Comparing those values thats like $2,900 vs $48,000. How can Japanese have more savings than the Americans when the average salary for the US market is much higher?

The Japanese are truly innovative people and probably why they are one of the first to adopt bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

Re: How to restrain yourself at a small loss and not spend money.
by
Suslived
on 02/11/2019, 16:59:56 UTC
It often happens that people go out to play a variety of games of chance with a certain amount of money, but in the end they spend everything if they are gone. How to prevent which technique you base yourself on to spend no further. It's hard to just give up, people persistent in gambling that day, so they can't just tell themselves they'll try tomorrow. Why is this difficult? Is it because of greed?

I've found that when gambling and playing games of chance, the only way to preserve money and not play until all your money is gone, is to set a pre-determined LIMIT. If you just play until you are tired or run out of money then you will surely run out of it.

By setting a limit on how much you win / lose you are placing a limit on your greed, the thing most important in turning a profit in gambling.

Re: WHAT DOES A TRADER NEED?
by
Suslived
on 02/11/2019, 15:23:21 UTC
Reading news constantly and being on track?
Using platforms/tools?
Is trading view enough?
Thank you for helping in this matter!

All of those are important but also unfortunately, TradingView is also not enough. If you really want to be a trader then you have to put in the time and effort to do the research and analysis across multiple platforms. You need to keep updated through crypto-related websites, Facebook trading groups, and even Twitter.

More than that, it might also be a good idea to start reading trading books.

Re: China is able to do 50%+1% attack. It means, China dominating the crypto's. Or?

What part of your post shows evidence of China being able to do a 51% attack, on bitcoin nonetheless? Quantum computers do not exist in this day and age and even Google's claim to have one has been proven to be lacking and not really useful.

Besides, China is different from Chinese miners (who are not necessarily unified as a single team), any news saying China can do 51% is FUD.

Re: If You Win Big Will You Remember Your Losses

As an analytical person, I like to keep track of everything in excel sheets. I have an excel sheet for all expenses including gambling and entertainment. While it is good that your friend knows how to enjoy life and focus on the positive, it is also important to put things into perspective and see the numbers behind everything. I wouldn't consider what happened to your friend a "big win." It was just ROI.

Re: T-POS Trustless Proof of Stake
by

on 02/11/2019, 10:12:16 UTC
Technologically, this is great. Trustless proof-of-stake seems like another new innovation that makes POS more convenient because we no longer have to maintain an online node/server to stake for us. However, just like the ICO HYPE back in 2017, this seems doesn't seem to be anything that could be game changing unless it is properly executed with real world adoption.

What use is a cryptocurrency, how easy it is to stake with, if nobody uses it in the real world?

Re: Tools/apps to manage portfolio?

Which ones do you recommend and why?
If it's possible those which aren't too expensive..
Appreciate the help!

You don't really need too many tools or apps to manage your portfolio. The exchange your trading on probably has enough tools to help you track your trades and balances. Instead of focusing on all these peripheral tools, people should focus more on learning how to analyse and trade better.

In any case, I'd suggest the Delta app. It has a clean and sexy user interface.

Re: Does the discipline help in gambling?
by
Suslived
on 02/11/2019, 08:05:23 UTC
How strong does a character need to be to set aside some amount of money on a weekly gamble?
What needs to happen to make it happen?
Does the great loss solidify our character?
What exactly does it mean to discipline yourself in gambling (in the narrow sense)?
Should we be disciplined in gambling, does it mean that we are better at gambling, or that we put less money at stake with more enjoyment, less fear, adrenaline, etc. ?
Me interested in answering the last question?

Discipline is surely important, in trading, gambling, in crypto, and in almost all worthwhile things in life. In gambling, discipline and control prevents you from spiralling out of control and doubling down on your bets.

We've seen too many times the gambler who panics about losing a bet and makes another bet double the amount in an attempt to regain losses. Stick to your gambling plan!

Re: Most suitable altcoin for donations

Hi Everyone,

I want to ask which altcoin is most suitable for donations.
i.e. traceable, and can be given to organizations without issues.

Appreciate your help

I don't think you need a "suitable" altcoin for donations. Donations are accepted wherever possible in what any form or another. If an charitable institution you know accepts donation then simply tell them you want to send a donation and cryptocurrency.

If they don't know anything about it then you can even do some crypto good and educate them on how to receive and convert crypto to fiat.

Re: 3COMMAS UPDATE

the new update make you use all 3commas in binance all features free but you must move funds to Separated  wallet  than binance

i use 3comma for a long time but this concern me about safety

coz i dont know where is my money is binace or  3commas

3commas is new and looks professional unlike other scam crypto trading bots out there. However, you should still be cautious when it comes to services like these that control your money or trading account. They can easily say that their bot made some bad trades and lost your money.

Personally I'd wait for some more people to try it and give reviews before actually putting money into it.

Re: Worst Day of My LIFE - Dice
by
Suslived
on 02/11/2019, 02:54:11 UTC
Borrowed $1600 from my friend. Apart from this placed gold as collateral and got $250. Altogether with hope of returning the borrowed amount and taking the gold back started to play dice after a long. At the beginning it went good, and when my profit reached $200 started to fail. Once I began to loss I was out of my control. Within minutes everything went out of my control, my mind didn't had the ability to think. I just doubled the bets consecutively. Ended with a loss. Now I was in a situation to repay my friend the borrowed amount. Please don't borrow and spend on gambling, it might give an earning, but that mostly leads to suffering. Cry

It happens to most of us. Even with a strict gambling plan and rules laid out right in front of me before I started, it's difficult not to feel anything when you lose. I believe it is simply part of human nature to want to sort of "fight back" and try and retrieve what was taken from you.

My bad experiences with gambling have led me to believe that gambling is for entertainment. Don't gamble if you need money lol. Also, look on the brighter side its just $1600+gold, people have lost far more than that in gambling.

I don't see any special way that one can profit from TUSD or any other stable coins? As far as I know they are called stable coins because their value hardly changes and you would have to simply rely on the value of bitcoin/or whatever you want to buy TUSD with.

It should work just like how'd you'd invest in any currency.

And why?

Like everyone else replying to this thread, I'd go for Ethereum. I remember seeing it at $40 but didn't want to touch it thinking that it was already overbought an would already dump. Who knew it was going up to a high of $1200++ in the coming months.

ETH really did make millionaires considering $40 to $1200 is around like 3000% gain. Crazy times!

Re: Donating the Gambling profits
by
Suslived
on 01/11/2019, 15:59:09 UTC
Have you ever thought of donating the gambling profits to a charitable cause ?  Sometime people won a big lottery or very high amount of money from betting & gambling games.  Do you ever thought of being generous and helping the poor with this money ?

Any decent person should always have charity and donations on their mind, especially when you are comfortable enough with money that you can afford to go to a casino and risk losing some. I feel like people in casinos, or in big online bitcoin/cryptocurrency gambling websites, are in the best position to donate to charity because they are already almost accepting loss when they gamble, it's like they enjoy losing money, if not the risk of it.

Instead of losing money to online casinos, crypto gamblers may find more fulfilment in losing money to charity.

Do you want people to put on headsets and listen to this podcast for 28:33 minutes? why would people do that? I think you should listen to the podcast and then summarize what they said and post in this thread the summary you made

I would love to know your thoughts about where we are going and how you think the landscape will change.

if enter a lot of money in the crypto market, I believe that the volatility will not be very high as it is today, at least we will not see high increases and followed by very large falls

I know some people who like listening to podcasts, no matter how long and boring I feel that they are. These are mostly people who listen as a secondary task, while on a bus or train, go to or from work.

I haven't listened to this BBC podcast myself because I don't even know who those people are and how relevant they are in the Bitcoin/cryptocurrency scene but I do agree with the opinion that more institutional money = less volatility. It could be good for crypto if it happens.

During my initial encounters with Bitcoin and crypto (back in 2016), I was first doubtful if it was real money. But that sense of doubt easily fades away when you first exchange your crypto into real fiat. It suddenly became real to me that there is a real opportunity here and started researching more into the space.

Three years later, I'm still at it and have made. bitcoin and crypto my hobby, my passion, and my side-business.

Re: Top 5 Cryptocurrency TA Indicators

I don't pretend to know much about cryptocurrency TA indicators and their difference when it comes to trading different stocks because crypto after all is just like a different type of "stock." So I believe the same useful indicators that apply to traditional trading should also be useful in crypto?

Not sure I see a different set of useful indicators tailored for the crypto market.

Re: How many bitcoiners on here have actually used bitcoin/crypto for commerce?
by
Suslived
on 01/11/2019, 14:22:09 UTC
I won't pretend to have a business that can accept bitcoin here but I imagine, adding bitcoin as a payment option is an additional benefit to my business that adds value with no drawback at all. It's quite simple to setup a bitcoin wallet and have a QR code ready for that rare customer who wants to pay in bitcoin.

I think the problem with companies using bitcoin is that they don't liquidate their bitcoin and are shocked by the volatility that they experience. If I accepted bitcoin as a payment method it think a good strategy would be to liquidate it immediately as if it were cash. I love bitcoin and will always hold but in a business that depends on non-bitcoin-payable operating expenses, I will have to do what is necessary.

I'd like to argue that ALL coins right now are quantum resistant. Most of all because there simply no such thing as quantum computers at this day and age. I've read about google's claims of creating the first quantum computer but like Vitalik Buterin says, that thing is quite far from being useful.

So I wouldn't really worry about quantum resistance right now. It only seems like a marketing stunt to say that a coins is "quantum resistant." lol.

Re: What are your favorite trading movies?
by
Suslived
on 01/11/2019, 13:32:45 UTC
Does anybody have any awesome movie recommendations related to trading? These are the ones I've watched and really enjoyed

Trading Places
Wall Street & Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps
Boiler Room
Rogue Trader
Trader (Paul Tudor Jones)
The Big Short
The Wolf of Wall Street

I think I've watched each one at least three times! if you have any others you suggest please let me know!

Thats a great list and have personally watched more than half of those, my favourite being the big short. However, if you'll indulge me I'd like to add one more, not a movie, but a very provocative and interesting series about trading called, BILLIONS. It stars Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis!

I love how trading movies inspire to trade your trading game to the next level!
