I have invested in no altcoins(Just Bitcoin for now). However as you can see through my previous posts, I am apalled by Dash's instamine(But it's interesting to study you all and how even hardcore small time investors would overlook such a impossible-to-overcome obstacle such as the fraudilent instamine in an attempt to make money) and if I absolutely had to choose an alt, it would indeed be monero.

I know Otoh and masternode's game.  I'll let them be for now. Hope you dont overestimate or become attached to this, as you know the instamine ensures no real growth will ever take place.

That would be a good comparison if Dash didn't have a severe instamine and faulty masternodes. But it does.

Bitcoin whales do the same thing, though on a much higher level(Tens of millions of $). They buy a ton of coins to ensure maximum profit for the inevitable dump. Though this plan could drastically backfire on this Otoh guy, should Dash fail before ever reaching anything worthnothy. That's a high likelyhood considering it did have a severe instamine and all...which as you will all see, will prove to be a barrier that is unable to overcome.

Tell the devs of Spreadcoin to change this horrible name to something decent and I see it outcompeting the scam instamine that is Dash, quite easily.

If it doesn't then that automatically makes it worth more than the scamcoin Dash. All spreadcoin would need now is a better name, the name spreadcoin is one of the worst I have seen for an altcoin. Truly.

It's weird to see BCX commenting on altcoins. He favors blatant scam or crapcoins such as Goldcoin, Digitalcoin, Maxcoin all of which are centralized scams and group mined by their developers, yet bashes on altcoins that suprisingly do "good" and with integrity - there's only one of which I've seen so far and yes it's monero - , in a sea of filth, scams, and general trash. It's almost as if he's scared of some coins rising to prominence. It's either this guy is a villian who wants all cryptocurrencies to perish by supporting the worst(and using reverse psych to make it seem like hes doing a "good thing"), a troll, or a retard.

Can't tell, I for one, wish he didn't support Bitcoin. Next thing you know BCX is gonna be saying "BTC is dead" just like all those other trolls to try and "game the market" in his favor.

You're acting as if it's secure to host nodes online that deliver something as crucial to the network as darkcoins coinjoin "anon feature". Heads up, it's not. I'm even actually having a hard time thinking of a "decentralized system" less secure than darkcoins masternodes.

Do you code or know any cryptography at all? All of Fluffypony's points were valid concerning the abundant flaws found in Darkcoin. It doesnt matter if such an attack is practical, its that its possible. If the government wanted they could easily take control of every single darkcoin masternode online, which is 90%+ of them. Its hard to believe that some altcoiners actually back up a coin that didnt just have a instamine, but also has rotten features as well.

When reading the posts, Fluffypony comes off as someone who is giving both sides of the story simultaneously. Doesn't seem one sided at all to me. It's just that Darkcoin has no attributes and nothing going for it tech wise, so it's getting destroyed that way in conversation. It's like those on the monero team are the 160 IQ nerds and those on the darkcoin team are the half retarded bill boos.

I have read all 14 pages of this thread to give those conclusions. I hold neither monero or dash/darkcoin. Face reality, I don't give 2 "fucks" about altcoins, but if I had absolutely had to I would probably choose just monero out of the sea of garbage that is altcoins. Darkcoin got the shit instamined out of it during it's release. There's no excuses for that crap to happen and then its passed off as "no big deal", not even the infamous auroracoin scam had that happen. Its so funny seeing "darkcoiners" rallying behind a coin with a fricking Instamine. That crap isn't going anywhere. Stick to bitcoin kids.

So after 14 pages of discussion, I think a conclusion can be drawn now. I'm a bitcoiner, and this is one of the few times I will have posted in the altsection(Yes this is a newbie because I don't want to be involved with such things on my main account). This thread and the "war" between the alts drk and xmr has caught my attention and below are my conclusions.

Monero: A coin with a pretty damn sophisticated dev team, they are practically geniuses. fair, and hardworking. The coin has drawn attention not just from other alternative cryptocurrenncy enthusiasts, but from those in the main bitcoin community and outside the crypto community as well. It offers the haven between transparency and anonymity with it's Ring Signatures, which is a time tested, highly secure way to send and receive anonymous transactions, and is one of the most practical cryptocurrencies to use for such reasons.

Monero gets 5/5 stars.

Dash/Darkcoin: A coin with a very disturbing instamine where those who mined within the very first few hours attained a absolutely massive amount of coins illegitimately. That issue has never been fixed even though the opportunity presented itself for Dash/Darkcoin's developer to simply "restart" the coin, leading to the conclusions that the instamine was done on purpose by the developer of Dash/Darckoin, or comes from extreme incompetence by the developer of Dash/Darkcoin. Instamine aside, the masternode scheme itself presents a new problem, where masternodes are PoS nodes that receive coins for hardly contributing to Dash/Darkcoin's network, unlike mining where miners verify transactions and secure the hashrate. Then there is the centralization issue from the developer of Dash/Darkcoin where he possesses a "switch" to revoke or implement forks without the community's consent should he ever wish to. Ultimately, Darkcoin is vaporware, it's implementation of gmaxwell's coinjoin is snotty at best and lacks the integrity through it's instamine and Masternodes to be considered a "decent" coin.

Dash/Darkcoin gets 2/5 stars(Would be 1/5 but I have to give credit for the coding that has been done so far).
