With 60 BTC i can get a professional team to develope a full fledged trading platform and then some.

Nobody said you have to bid 60 BTC. The bidding starts at 10 BTC.

i want to acess backend before placing bid.The script includes source code?is it 100% proprietary?

Yes it does include the source code, it's been 100% written by our team. As for the access how would that work ? We obviously can't just send you the files, but we could work something out so you have a better idea of the backend structure. Feel free to pm me for specific info you would like to know.

how much trading volume has the exchange accumulated in the past month?

It is a bit above 0.001 BTC. Keep in mind that this figure is hardly indicative of potential future earnings, since we did almost no advertising, no announcement post here on bitcointalk or hardly any kind of marketing.
So basically you are selling script + domain for 10-60 BTC without trading volume

How much is cost monthly for server, hosting and other expenses??

We are the selling the whole infrastructure, which can hardly be summarized by just a "script", and the design work. Of course there is marketing work to be done to get decent volume. Hosting is around $70/month, but it could be done less expensively if you don't want to be hosted in Switzerland. There are no other operational expenses.

If you look at the trading volume since inception (which is slighty more than the last month), we stand at 0.12 BTC.

[Auction] Swisscoinex, a cryptocurrency exchange

Dear Bitcointalk users,

Due to recent changes in the management team, we are auctioning off our cryptocurrency exchange Swisscoinex (available at https://swisscoinex.com). The site is fully functional and has been running for more than a month. We have dozens of clients that have been successfully trading on it.

You can register to fully appreciate the user interface, wallet management and settings options.

The platform has some exclusive features you won't find on any other cryptocurrency exchange. We are the first to offer GPG authentication for login as well as withdrawals and the compact, single-screen interface provides all the needed information at a single glance, without the need to endlessly scroll.

** What is included **

- The domain name
- The Facebook page, the Twitter account as well as this (Bitcointalk) account
- The complete front-end interface code
- The matching engine, along with all the back-end code
- The complete deposit/withdrawal infrastructure for coins, along with scripts to generate environments for new coins very quickly (Dockerfiles to spawn containers)
- Consistency check scripts for accounting soundness

With the scripts provided, adding a new coin to the exchange is very easy, it can take literally as little as 10 minutes.

You can easily change the name and the logo if you wish to do so.

Starting Bid: 10 BTC
Bid increment: 0.5 BTC
Buy it now: 60 BTC

End of Auction: February, 23rd at 12:00 GMT

Note: There is a reserve price, meaning that if we are not satisfied with the highest bid at the end of the auction period, we reserve the right not to proceed with the sale.

Re: Decentralized Exchanges: Why do they lack liquidity?
by

i think the main problem is that you need the fastest response times possible to attract daytraders. You can't really manage that with a decentralized system at the moment.

Technically speaking, the way decentralized exchanges work, you will always have a high trade latency. Most short-term traders prefer to rely on a centralized entity for faster and more accurate trade execution, and since they are the ones providing liquidity, they are more attractive to occasional and long-term traders as well. Liquidity on exchanges is analogous to the network effect, it's hard to get started but then the value grows exponentially.

What's POS? Piece of shit? Proof of shit?

Explain.

He obviously meant Proof of Stake. It's an utterly bad idea, here's a nice pdf explaining why: https://download.wpsoftware.net/bitcoin/pos.pdf

That's why I fired back up my CPU miner hashing at an impressive 600 kh/s to attempt a solo block mine. Free Market FTW!

Fingers crossed, let us know how that works out for you!

Re: Private digital currency like bitcoin is a threat central bank digital currency
by
Swisscoinex

Of course it's a threat. Anything that the central bankers can't control and that can be used to transfer or store monetary value is a threat to the financial system that's been in place for decades.

Some revealing quotes:

Quote
Private digital currency is not endorsed by national credit therefore not a real currency

Quote
private digital money supply is relatively fixed, which is difficult to adapt to the needs of modern economic development

Of course they would rather like to inflate it to the moon, as they do with fiat.

Re: San Francisco Metro System Hacked with Ransomware [Paid $70,000 in Bitcoin]

This is not a bad thing to bitcoin but to the users who use it in illicit activities. With the events that had happened the government around the globe might end up regulating the use of bitcoin, creating poilicies and other laws including agencies to monitor how online currencies including cryptocurrencies moves. Soon bitcoin will be under the eyes of the government, taxable and monitored.
Currently except for a worldwide ban there is not much governments of the world can do to stop bitcoin, in fact a ban on bitcoin may even help adoption grow like what happened to drugs.

It's not like any ban on bitcoin is technically enforceable, they can hurt exchanges though.

Should Bitcoin as it is now go mainstream, even with 20 MB blocks it won't be able to process daily payments of average Joe.

The way bitcoin works is more akin to a settlement layer, not really a payment processor processing thousands of small-size transactions per second. I think we will need off-chain scaling solution to achieve mainstream if you want to maintain the useful properties that bitcoin has today.

What is it about malleability that is such a big problem? In the almost 7 years of Bitcoin's existence, I am only aware of two "companies" that have claimed to have been negatively affected by malleability, and I believe both of them are/were lying (I know for sure that at least one of them is lying).

I would think that a more common sense fix to the sighashing "problem" would be to limit the number of SigOps allowed in a transaction, as I do not think there are many "business reasons" why any given transaction would ever need to have a large number of SigOps.

Malleability is an issue for off-chain scaling solutions such as the Lightning Network.

Re: Bitcoin without Altcoin ?
by

on 13/12/2016, 01:33:14 UTC
I just wanted to get your opinions on this one , what do you think Bitcoin would be if there was no Alternative coins such Litecoin & Dogecoin and the others ...
I mean it would be better with or without them Bitcoin would have no value at all ?
i think affect , many users bitcoin before use bitcoin they use altcoin too
may be bitcoin not famous like now if alt coin
you are right. perhaps many people know bitcoin for altcoin, like me. Well, I know bitcoin from dogecoin. see bitcoin high price, made me interested in looking for bitcoin. so, I think bitcoin without altcoin will affect to the popularity of bitcoin
Correct there are lots of ways of doing something or to get to know something, that is why even if some coins are not the best it is better to have as many as possible that way people can eventually learn about bitcoin.

Indeed, Altcoins are here to stay, there will always be people willing to try new ideas.
