Re: free crypto with learn and earn

Hi which platforms offer free cryptocurrencies for just completing short questionnaires like the earn and learn program offered by coinbase?

Binance I think it also offers it, but with binance you earn for sure the cryptocurrencies or you just enter a draw for answering the questions correctly?

And in the other platforms? can you win cryptocurrencies? or just answering correctly gives you the option to enter a draw?

Hi, I actually keep track of those opportunities. You can find a full list of learn & earn opportunities here.

Apart from Coinbase, you can currently earn free crypto from these quizzes at Cake DeFi (2 quizzes for $5 each, mostly DFI), Bitpanda (€5 in BEST), Coinlist.co ($6 in XTZ), and Revolut (€4.50 in DOT - might be over, not sure). The linked site has the full instructions and all of the answers to the quizzes.

The Binance quiz rewards are always gone instantly. Coinmarketcap also has some, but it's a lottery to get a reward, and the chances of getting the reward are really low.

I made a website with a exhaustive table on this! You can find it here: https://extracrypto.cc/interest-rates/all-cryptocurrencies/. And you can compare more info on the platforms here: https://extracrypto.cc/interest-rates/platform-features/

Feel free to add anything you find there to the list in this thread!

Excellent job on compiling everything. From now on though, I'll add the ones that provide >3.0% APR once I come back home. Any lower than this wouldn't be worth it.

I'm curious, how much do you cash in in referral income? I've gotten quite interested affiliate marketing, passive income and referral commissions, and recently have started promoting the link in my signature over the web. Thus far, I managed to score one proliferative gambler.

Thanks for the compliment Smiley

Definitely haven't made enough from referrals to make it worth my time yet, but I hope that changes. It's really hard for something like this to get any traction at all. I also wouldn't call it 'passive income', as I've already sunk hundreds of hours of work into this, and will have to continually update it to keep it going.

Putting your crypto (mostly stablecoins) somewhere to earn interest is passive income though, which is what got me interested in making this website in the first place Smiley

By the way, Ledn.io just lowered their BTC interest rates to 5.25% today, and BlockFi lowered them to 4.00%.

Nexo and Ledn also not available for US users anymore. Both are restructuring their product to better comply with regulations.

Still lots of other options available though (comparison here: https://extracrypto.cc/interest-rates/all-cryptocurrencies/), but they might also discontinue service to US users.

New website launched!

www.vericoin.info

Nice!

Looking at the roadmap though, there are no dates? So when are the new functions explained in the roadmap expected to be implemented?

Anytime, come join us in our Slack https://vericoinandveriuminvite.herokuapp.com/

Will do.

Quick (noob) question. I opened my wallet today to stake some more. Wallet is in synch, and states it's staking. However, under 'Balance', it shows it's only staking a very small amount of coins, whereas yesterday it showed the majority of my coins as 'Staking'. I have multiple VRC adresses, and the largest ones already paid interest. Is this normal?

Got some interest to confirm now.  Nice amount of coins, more than previously, so it does look like it carried over. Thanks for the info.

Top 100 coin now on coinmarketcap.com Smiley
We've always been a top 100 coin.
Just the whole alt coin market is booming right now and mixing things up for the time being.

Yes, interesting times in the altcoin space right now. Will watch VRC closely. Current features and ongoing developments look interesting for sure. Has a lot more going for it than most altcoins, even those with a larger market cap.

Where can I find more information on how the staking for this coin works exactly? I've had some incoming interest transactions from staking, but they were 'Generated but not accepted'.

Can anyone help me out?

I have trouble claiming my CLAMS. I have a fully synced Clam client, and my wallet.dats. I'm using File -> Import Wallet, select my BTC/LTC/DOGE wallet.dat -> enter the password. But nothing seems to happen after that.

Am I doing something wrong?

Also, the just-dice chat box tells me my addresses have unclaimed CLAMS.

Edit: just found that my console tells me this:
"19:34:54 CDB : Error 2, can't open database (code -1)"

Submitted my payout form, but forgot you actually need over 50 posts to claim, and I only made 30. Will try again next month with the total post count including the ones I made last month, as the OP states they will carry over.

Re: Computer-designed protein causes cancer cells’ death (Computations from BOINC)
by
T-800

That is a pretty narrow-minded view. By participating in Gridcoin and creating an economy around it you are giving incentive for many other people to join in that otherwise will never dedicate computer resources to Boinc projects!!! On top of that, people who run GPU farms have quite hefty power bills each month, so mining a cryptocurrency offsets that! Boinc has been around for 10 years, you would think everyone with a computer would have joined in considering the real world implications of Boinc work, but that is not that case!! Because people get bored, they forget, or they just simply don't care because there are so many other distractions in real life that take up their time. Now when you throw in a monetary incentive in to the mix all the sudden all those people who had no time or weren't interested for whatever reason are now much more willing to participate!! NOT participating in Gridcoin is selfish! Do you see my point?

don't waste energy is "anything over all other altcoins?

I see your points, but as long as Gridcoin doesn't add anything new/different for it's users (as a currency), it's not going to succeed as a cryptocurrency. So when you're buying this coin you're rewarding/donating to BOINC 'miners', and that's the only current thing that Gridcoin has going for it. So even though this is a great project, I wouldn't consider buying GRC as an investment.

Mining Gridcoin today wouldn't be profitable either, so there's no real monetary incentive, you're just getting a discount on participating in a charity project. If the monetary incentive is what you're after, you wouldn't mine Gridcoin, but something that's actually profitable. I'd only mine Gridcoin if I was going to do BOINC anyway.

PS, I did BOINC for about half a year back in 2010/2011 (Dutch Power Cows Smiley). Eventually stopped because of the noise and power costs.

Tell me what I have missed and why should have cared to get some of the free coins? I Must confess i was too lazy to look into this in further detail. I have become bored of altcoins to the point i dont pay any attention to the alt coin forum. I can miss the 1% chance of missing something legit tho.

Basically you missed about $15-20 worth of freely distributed coins that were created out of thin air. You should have cared because of free money. Since it's only $15-20 it's not that bad you missed it. The first few freely distributed coins were worth a lot more, I believe (numbers, anyone?).

I really got fed up with altcoins myself, but a friend of mine told me about this and it wasn't that hard to sign up, so I did Smiley.

Re: Litecoin TANKING...opinions on future outlook both nearterm and long term?
by

Wow, I haven't really kept up with the BTC/LTC market in awhile, but checking the charts today pretty much shocked me.  Last I remembered it was surging up towards the 12 dollar market and all signs were pointing to bullish.  The 365 day chart does not look good...at all.

Is there some particular news that is triggering this massive downward slope?  And are any of you guys getting in now, or do you feel we might see another return close to 4 dollars like we saw late last year? I'm soooo tempted...but man, I've already been burned so many times in this altcoin game.

I haven't seen any particular news that triggered today's dump. So either some people have inside info that they're selling on, or this price doesn't make sense at all, and you should buy.

I definitely believe in a new rally for BTC, that'll also launch LTC to the moon. Therefore, if LTC goes below $5 I'm in.

Game of Thrones. Vikings. Breaking Bad. Was pretty impressed with Band of Brothers. Sadly that's only 10 episodes. Also recently watched 'The Borgias' and it was awesome.

A lot of people recommended Mad Men, which I'm currently watching, but it's pretty boring. If it doesn't get more exciting soon I'll probably stop watching.

Black. And, the stronger the better for me usually.

Sometimes cappuccino with sugar, especially in the morning. Easy way to get some carbs and proteins in, because I hate eating breakfast.

I'd spend it on things that'd make me even richer over time. Invest some of it in Bitcoin, Gold, and Silver. I'd use a lot to start some (online) businesses.
