Re: Panahon Na Nga Ba Maging "Cashless Society" ang Pilipinas?
by

If that platform goes live, it also affect the value of SETHER any other coin with a good platform or purpose. If John McAfee quote about Sether is real I asure that sether will go to the moon as he see the future of these platform as useful.
John Mcafee has a good vision on where Seether project is going to. Definitely a good type of asset worth investing . Lets all go together to the moon.
Yeah but dont get me wrong, Sether is not Mcafee project. he is just making review based on his on opinion here. i think it will help to say yes the project is great and awesome but whats your own angle on it, how do you view it and how do you want to invest in the project...i dont want you thinking base on his view i want you to think about how is going to influence you and you business. If his rating is good for you then good but always have your view
John Mcafee probably understand this project and its potential to be a successful project. Knowing that this project is adopting the social network does people will widely know about new ico because it will be available soon if this project will be going well according to plan.

This ICO will really spread like fire using social network platform. People spend lots of time on social media and soon enough they will learn about this.. Trends on social media plus blockchain will make this success.

Dear all,

As we have mentioned before, in the pre-ico period we are focusing on our large investors. And we have quite a few in discussions. There are permanent communication with them, live demos of our technology and so on. This is a business to business platform and a company with a serious approach and a large investment by itself.

We decided to let everybody in the pre-ico without having a cap of minimum investment, because some of our experienced friends in the blockchain ecosystem considered and advised us to democratize the participation, to let everybody benefit in the same conditions as the investors. And we have done this. We are going to have the progressed announced periodically in the crowdsale period as it is normal to be.

If you do not believe in the product or the company than it is better not to invest. Just as an advise, do not invest based on how much money others pretend they raised, or how many people are on BitcoinTalk or Telegram or how many banners some ICOs have or how many influencers.  This is how scams appeared... a lot of money in promotion, fake news, etc. Do your research, study well before investing and take your own decision. The future belongs to the ICOs which are doing real business on blockchain and to the ICOs that have a real company behind, acting like a company, with business experience.

In the end, thank you for supporting us or investing in us or following us. We treasure each and everyone of you.

Kind regards,

Ovidiu Oancea
Founder and CEO
Sether

Since one of your business services is having transparency, how much capital did you raise during the ICO?

Re: What do mining bots do?

I think these are the bots used in telegram that when you play the game, you earn something that can be sold for bitcoin. They come in different kinds of games but they also ask you to buy or invest to earn more.

It is like a HYIP bot program in telegram. Invest in bots to earn faster.

They are like.. "If you cannot beat them.. join them!" This means that blockchain technology is being accepted by centralized banking agencies. Soon after that, government will be taxing that too.

Re: Bitcoin = $1 Million by 2020
by
T-Gee05
on 04/12/2017, 11:02:56 UTC
Looking at the chart on how the price went up, it was just the end of this year it suddenly peaked. The price from previous years looks like a very slow rise.

Now on the speculation on how it will increase more within three years, it may not be surprising to reach that much.

End of December 2016, price of bitcoin was only around $960, End of 2017, it may be still around $10K. So in a span of 1 year, the price multiplied by 10. If the growth continues that trend, every year multiply by 10, it may reach $1M by 2020.

Maybe that was the model he used that is why he speculated that much.

I think it will reach around 100-200K by 2020, it might plateau its price or will go on slow rise as how it was in the previous years.

Re: Power Supply for 100 Antminer S9 in UK How to with 3 phase supply?
by
T-Gee05
on 01/12/2017, 02:48:23 UTC
Yes.. You have a 3 phase supply but what is your main circuit breaker that supplies your facility? If that is not enough to power those miners.. Then you have to request first to your electric company for your required electricity supply.

Then hire an electrical contractor as others would suggest. This is not a DIY project even if you know how to wire them. It should be designed properly with correct load schedule, wire and breaker sizing. Prepare your proposed miner layout for the contractor to design the cabling layout properly.

Also have your HVAC designed by a professional too. That is a lot of heat load to remove and manage.

This is a big investment and should consult a licensed professional electrical and hvac contractor.

Cheaping out on electric contractor might end up in a disaster.

Re: After The Surge...Will There Be A Burst?
by

on 27/11/2017, 07:48:17 UTC
There could be a burst.. 10K might be a peak then people might go sell because of fear of that burst, then price might drop down. I don't know how low.. then after the drop price might go stabilize.

It is hard to predict. People predicted BTC will reach 10K by December. and here we are at the last week of November already reaching almost USD10K mark.

Are you guys going to sell at 10K or HODL?Huh

Re: HOW MANY HEAT EMISSION - ANTMINER S9 ?
by
T-Gee05
on 27/11/2017, 07:37:34 UTC
S9(14TH) is 1372W gives you 4681BTU/h or 1372J/s or 0.39TR (Tons of Refrigeration) of cooling load.

but using air-conditioning unit will use a lot of electricity which will add up to your operating cost of the miners. You might end up losing money due to electricity cost. It will be better to vent it out of your room using a fan and/or inducing colder air to your miner.

S9 gives you around 250cfm of hot air.

Re: 600 volt x 400 amp
by
T-Gee05
on 24/11/2017, 02:40:03 UTC
Is this 3 phase or single phase?  Huge difference!
600 volt is 3 phase the transformers I have links for are Wye 600 to 208/120.  I have more then basic knowledge but I am not an expert in this field.

I am not an engineer or electrician.

Here's how I think the math works, and I will explain each step:

600 volts RMS  < ----This is ACROSS the phases, not phase to neutral

347 volts RMS <--- Phase to neutral

400 amps is 3-phase < ---- This is the most important part.  You have 3 phase power but are running 1 phase units.

Using https://canadatransformers.com/transformer-phase/ to calculate KW/KVA using all 3 phases:

600v x 400 amps = 415.69 KVA

(600 x 400 x 1.732)

Calculate using a single phase:

347v x 400 amps = 138.8 KVA

Yup checks out, it's 1/3 of the 3 phase.  So we have a total system KVA of 415.69.  To translate to KW we need to multiply by the power factor:

415.69 KVA x 0.99 = 411.5 KW

So we have a total system KW available of 411.5, multiply by 0.8 (80%) to get available power:

411.5 * 0.8 = 329.23 KW available

Divide by 1.475 KW:

329.23 / 1.475 = 223 units

That's a lot!

Where are you located?  I'm in Winnipeg.  What is the size of the transformer in kva?

Edit: I did not include transformer losses since we need to knock down that 600v further.

Looking at your calculation.. you just arrived at 329V.. the PSU of the miners are rated 220V.. so you still have to step it down

Philip's calculation is correct. You have to step it down from 600V to 208/120V 3phase then distribute it to single phase circuits in able to power up that psu. That transformer is huge and heavy. We have dry type transformer here at work 480V-230V with a 400A main breaker with a size of 800mmW x 800mmL x 1000mmH housing.

Re: Anyone running miners at 208 volt using line to line?
by
T-Gee05
on 22/11/2017, 23:07:53 UTC
Silly questions...but these miners are single phase right? So when a 3 phase distribution panel is used it will need to be balanced for single phase? Thanks.

That is the general rule for using a 3phase supply to single phase load. You really have to balance it. Distribute the load and connect it to lines 1-2 ; then lines 2-3 and lines 1-3. Provide grounding too for protection.

You can order a distribution panel with a 3 phase supply and single phase load to the manufacturers. They will balance it out according to number of circuits you want.

Re: Bitmain APW3++ Question - Power Cord
by

on 21/11/2017, 13:43:08 UTC
Question regarding the APW3++ ....  What power cord should I be sourcing?    I am looking at using these PDUs... http://icecat.us/us/p/ibm/73p5847/power-distribution-units-pdus-PDU+DPI+60amp+3-phase+High+Density+C9-73276.html

Will this be supported?   It is looking like a C9 power connector.

Thanks.

Would something like this PDU allow me to run multiple APW3++ of of it using just one 220 outlet in the room? Assuming it is dedicated off of an approprate AMP breaker?

As long as you will not exceed 80% of its rated capacity/wattage to be safe

Looks like the trend is going up until december.. Many predicted it will reach 10k by december.. Can it go up that fast?

Is there any chance it will go down after December? I mean, it got up so fast, it's gotta go down at some point. But when?

It is really hard to predict.. But from what I see since more people are learning about bitcoin and jumping into the bandwagon.. Demand is getting high that is why price is going up. After decembem.. It may plateau for awhile and take a few dips.. But later on it will still rise since demand will be high. If next year, more platform and paying instutions accept bitcoin as payment.. It will definitely go up more.

But dont take my word on it Im not an expert.. Just an observer. It is how the trend on bitcoin this year.

Use calculators.. When I tried the 15gh/s with free electricity.. It is just $0.02.. But if you are paying electricity and your pc power supply is just 500w.. You will be losing money.

Looking at the rise of eth is not that high as how bitcoin rose. Eth is rising slowly though.. I think it hasnt primed yet but when it primes and reach it peak.. It will not grow as much as bitcoin is, and I dont think it will overtake bitcoin.
