on 01/05/2025, 16:48:29 UTC
This week's Tournament consists of Premier League, Serie A, LaLiga matches. Picks for the week:

✧ Aston Villa vs Fulham: 2-1
Aston Villa wins. Villa hosts Fulham at Villa Park this Saturday, both in a crucial battle for continental places, and both with similar positions on the table—Villa at 7th and Fulham at 8th. Villa has been strong at home and boast one of the league’s best expected goals tallies, but their defence has been leaky. Fulham is organised under Marco Silva and have taken points from several top-half sides lately. With both teams needing a win to keep European hopes alive, expect an open, tense affair where Villa’s attacking quality just edges it.

✧ Everton vs Ipswich: 2-0
Everton wins. Sitting at 15th, Everton is nearly safe but the team would want to end the season on a high at Goodison Park. On the other hand, Ipswich is relegated at 18th, winning only 1 game in the last 10 matches, struggling for goals. David Moyes' side has been stable at home, and this should be enough to break down Ipswich's inconsistent defence. Expect Everton to control the game and secure the points, though Ipswich could make it nervy if they score first—probably not though.

✧ Leicester vs Southampton: 1-1
A Draw. Is this what they call a basement battle? Leicester and Southampton remain at the bottom of the table at 19th and 20th, respectively. Although Leicester has shown slightly more fight recently, I'm hesitant to say that Ruud van Nistelrooy's side can prove decisive against Southampton. Both teams are leaky at the back, but home advantage and a desire to finish with pride could ramp up the excitement of this match. We'll probably see a chaotic draw.

✧ Lecce vs Napoli: 1-3
Napoli wins. Lecce, sitting at 17th, will be hosting Napoli, Serie A's current leaders at the top of the table. Lecce fights for survival while Napoli has been unbeaten in the last 8 matches, showing a vast difference in performance this season. With Romelu Lukaku and Scott McTominay in top form, Napoli should have more than enough firepower to counter Lecce's, if any, desperation to score. I expect a comfortable win for Napoli.

✧ Arsenal vs Bournemouth: 3-1
Arsenal wins. Arsenal sits at 2nd and has already secured a spot in Champions League. Meanwhile, Bournemouth is mid-table at 10th, safe but with leaky defence, only seeing 1 win in the last 5 matches on the road. Saka and Martinelli should find space, but Bournemouth’s counterattack could pose as a challenge. Ultimately, I expect Arsenal’s superior quality and home support to see them through.

✧ Inter vs Verona: 3-0
Inter wins. Inter is 2nd is currently second and they are definitely closing in on securing a Champions League spot. They have also been dominant at San Siro, with Lautaro Martínez leading the line. Conversely, Verona sits mid-table at 15th and are still at risk of relegation, struggling to score against the top teams. Inter’s depth and attacking variety should be tmore than sufficient for a comfortable win against Verona in this match.

✧ Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo: 3-1
Real Madrid wins. After an intense Copa del Rey finals match last weekend and loss to Barcelona, Real Madrid will be determined to take a win this weekend. Sitting currently at 2nd, Real Madrid is strong at home and will be focused especially seeing this match against Celta, currently 7th, as a good opportunity for a win. Celta Vigo is safe but inconsistent, and their defence has been poor away from home. Madrid’s stars like Kylian Mbappé should create plenty of chances. Expect a comfortable home win, but Celta could grab a consolation.

✧ Brentford vs Manchester United: 2-2
A Draw. Both teams sit mid-table with Brentford at 11th and Manchester United at 14th. Brentford has had reasonable recent form with only 1 loss in the last 5 matches. Meanwhile, Manchester United has had 3 losses and 0 wins in the last 5 matches. Although Brentford's home form has not been outstanding, they might take this opportunity of home advantage to make a dent on United's pride. Ruben Amorim's side has struggled with goals and maintaining consistency all season, but Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro make a compelling case against Brentford's direct style. In a wide-open contest, a draw feels likely.

✧ Brighton vs Newcastle: 1-2
Brighton wins. Brighton hosts Newcastle at Falmer Stadium this Sunday, sitting at 9th while Newcastle sits in the top 3. Both will have their eyes on European football, making this a rather high-stakes encounter. Brighton's attacking play at home is impressive, but Newcastle's recent form is one to highlight, with 4 wins in the last 5 matches. With both teams likely to go for it, expect goals at both ends, but Newcastle’s form and Isak’s finishing could make the difference.

✧ West Ham vs Tottenham: 1-2
Tottenham wins. Both teams are desperate for points to avoid the drop, with West Ham at 17th and Tottenham at 16th. Unfortunately, both teams have had a miserable run and have had rather dismal recent form. West Ham is winless in the last 5 matches and Tottenham has seen only 1 win in the last 5 matches. While West Ham’s home crowd could give them an advantage, but I'm betting on the underdog here—Spurs’ attacking talent like Heung-min Son could help the team edge a win.

✧ Chelsea vs Liverpool: 1-2
Liverpool wins. Chelsea, currently sitting at 5th, will host the champions of this season. A party atmosphere may be expected from the visitors at Stamford Bridge. Liverpool might rotate their squad, giving Chelsea a chance to exploit any lack of intensity. Marc Guiu and Christopher Nkunku could shine for the Blues, but Liverpool’s depth and attacking patterns remain dangerous. Expect a high-quality, open game that ends in a tight win for the champions.

✧ AS Roma vs Fiorentina: 1-0
AS Roma wins. Roma sits at 6th while Fiorentina is 8th, both pushing for Europe. It'll be a tense, tactical Serie A clash. Roma’s home form has been excellent, unbeaten in the last 10 home matches. On the other hand, Raffaele Palladino's creativity could unlock Fiorentina’s disciplined back line. Fiorentina’s away record is, comparatively, patchy, but their midfield can control games if given time. Expect a tight affair with Roma’s edge at the Olimpico proving decisive.

✧ Bologna vs Juventus: 1-1
A draw. Ending this Tournament with an exciting match between Bologna and Juventus, both sitting at 5th and 4th respectively, both fighting for a spot in Champions League. Bologna has been a surprise package this season, tough to beat at home. Meanwhile, Juventus has struggled with consistency but remain a force to reckon with under Igor Tudor's direction. With both teams fighting for a top 4 finish, nerves could play a huge role. Bologna’s organisation and home support could frustrate Juve. I expect this rather equally-matched game to end in a stalemate.

This week's Tournament consists of Premier League, Serie A, Copa del Rey matches. Picks for the week:

✧ Chelsea vs Everton: 2-0
Chelsea wins. Chelsea sits at 6th, remaining in the hunt for Europe and have been solid at Stamford Bridge, winning 9 of 16 home matches. Maresca’s side has shown improved cohesion with young talents flourishing and a balanced attack. Everton, mid-table at 13th are safe but inconsistent. They've won only 1 game out of the last 5 matches, struggling to turn draws into wins. The Toffees’ away record is poor, and their defensive setup will likely invite pressure from Chelsea’s fluid midfield. I expect Chelsea to dominate possession and eventually break down Everton’s resistance

✧ Brighton vs West Ham: 1-1
A draw. Brighton sits at 10th currently and have been tough to beat at home, unbeaten in 13 of their last 16 at the Amex, but have only 1 win in their last 8 across all competitions. On the other hand, West Ham fights for survival at 17th, having lost half of their last 6 games on the road. Both teams have struggled for goals lately, and their H2H encounters are often tight, with Brighton winning 3 of the last 6. I expect a cautious, tactical battle with neither side taking big risks as they both seek to secure points, eventually ending in a stalemate.

✧ Newcastle vs Ipswich: 4-1
Newcastle wins. Newcastle sits at 5th, coming off a heavy 1-4 defeat to Villa but have shown consistency in home form this year. Having been assured of a spot in Champions League, they'll be coming into this match with good morale. Isak leads the line in top form, and the Magpies’ pressing and wide overloads have overwhelmed weaker sides. Meanwhile, Ipswich continues in free fall at 18th, ambushed with injuries and taking only 1 point from their last 9 games. I expect Ipswich to fight hard but their defence will quickly falter against Newcastle's attack a St. James' Park.

✧ Southampton vs Fulham: 0-1
Fulham wins. Southampton sits at 20th, relegated, and having lost 81% of their home matches. Fulham sits higher on the table at 9th, and although away form has been poor, they remain the stronger side on paper. Both teams have struggled for goals recently, and the pressure is off for both, which could lead to a surprisingly open but low-scoring affair.

✧ Wolves vs Leicester: 2-0
Wolves win. Wolves sit at 15th which is pretty low mid-table but they have shown a solid home record and remarkable recent form, winning all 5 of their last 5 matches. Meanwhile, Leicester sits at 19th and, similar to Southampton, has been relegated, showing poor consistency both on the road and at home this season. As the odds suggest, I expect Wolves to control the match and take a vital step toward safety with Matheus Cunha leading the way.

✧ Inter vs AS Roma: 2-1
Inter wins. Inter leads the Serie A competition, closing in on the Scudetto and having exceptional form all season. They've been nearly untouchable at home, with only 1 loss at San Siro. Meanwhile, Roma sits at 6th, fighting for Europe and will have the zeal and determination to trouble Inter, though their defence has shown to be vulnerable against top sides. Similarly, Inter is fresh off a shock loss to Bologna last weekend and this could serve as a wake-up call for them to refocus and ensure they maintain their position. I expect an exciting match with both sides looking to score, eventually seeing Inter edge a win, a familiar scene this season.

✧ Barcelona vs Real Madrid: 2-2
A draw, but Real Madrid wins in extra time/penalties. A little bit of a controversial pick for this Copa del Rey final in Seville? This brings the 260th El Clásico with Barcelona and Real Madrid both seeking silverware. Barcelona has been more consistent in the league but Real Madrid won the last 2 Copa del Rey finals that featured an El Clásico face off in 2013-14 and 2010-11. Both sides are nearly at full strength, and the tactical battle between Flick and Ancelotti will be fascinating. Expect a tense, high-quality affair with goals on both sides and with so much on the line. I'm betting this will end in a draw. Definitely one of the biggest matches to watch this weekend!

✧ Venezia vs AC Milan: 1-3
AC Milan wins. Venezia sits at 18th and are fighting for their Serie A lives with, expectedly, low probability of winning and poor home form. Meanwhile, Milan will continue to push for a European spot at 9th, having the quality edge in every department. Despite Milan's inconsistent away form, their superior quality with players like Tammy Abraham and Samuel Chukwueze, they should achieve a comfortable win against Venezia.

✧ Bournemouth vs Manchester United: 2-1
Bournemouth wins. Bournemouth, sitting at 8th, has been one of the surprise packages of the season, wth a strong home record and dynamic attack. Conversely, Manchester United also finds themselves in a surprising mid-table position at 14th even as the end of season nears. United is in crisis with Amorim under pressure and the team struggling for consistency and goals, seeing only 1 win in the last 5 games. Meanwhile, Bournemouth's pressing and energy could very possibly overwhelm United's fragile midfield, edging a win—does this count as an upset?

✧ Fiorentina vs Empoli: 2-0
Fiorentina wins. Fiorentina sits at 8th with a strong home record and will be pushing for a top 6 finish. Meanwhile, Empoli sits bottom of the table at 19th, desperate for points and having struggled for wins all season. Fiorentina’s attacking depth and home support should see them through, but Empoli’s need for survival could make it nervy. Expect Fiorentina to control possession and eventually break through.

✧ Liverpool vs Tottenham: 3-1
Liverpool wins. Liverpool leads at the top of the table and are closing in on the title. They've had a remarkable season and especially ruthless at Anfield. Meanwhile, Tottenham sits close to the bottom at 16th and have seen losses in the last 3 matches on the road. Salah, without a doubt, is in top form and Spurs' defensive frailties are likely to be exposed. It would be more than surprising if Liverpool didn't win this match comfortably.

✧ Juventus vs Monza: 3-0
Juventus wins. Juventus, sitting at 5th, has been nearly flawless at home and are heavy favourites against Monza, sitting at 20th and already relegated, arguably the league's worst defence this season. Dušan Vlahović and Kenan Yıldız should find plenty of opportunities and Tudor's men will be moivated to secure their Champions League position. I expect a rather uneventful comfortable win for Juventus.

✧ Napoli vs Torino: 2-1
Napoli wins. Napoli is still in the title race sitting at 2nd currently, and they have been excellent at home. Torino is safe at 10th but have little to play for. Comparing recent form, Napoli has seen 3 wins in the last 5 games while Torino has seen just 1 in the last 5 games. With Romelu Lukaku and Scott McTominay both fit and firing, Napoli should control the match, though Torino’s physicality could make it close for a while.

This week's Tournament consists of Premier League, Serie A, LaLiga matches. Picks for the week:

This Week's Match Predictions:

✧ Brentford vs Brighton: 2-2
A Draw. Brentford, currently 11th, will host Brighton, currently 10th, in a matchup between two sides whose seasons have been defined by inconsistency. In the past 5 games, both teams have seen 1 win, 2 losses, and 2 draws. Brighton, notorious for dropping points from winning positions, will welcome Jan Paul van Hecke back from suspension but are missing several defenders. Despite home ground advantage, Brenftord has not shown formidable home form lately. With both teams leaky at the back and desperate for a win, I'm expecting an open contest where both teams score, but neither wins.

✧ Crystal Palace vs Bournemouth: 2-1
Crystal Palace wins. Palace sits at 12th while Bournemouth sits at 8th. Despite sitting lower on the table at time of writing, Palace has shown remarkable consistency lately, unbeaten in the last 4 games. On the other hand, Bournemouth has struggled with consistency with 2 losses and 2 draws in the last 4 matches. Palace's Jean-Philippe Mateta has been on fire with 9 goals this year, a significant figure as the Eagles aim to push for a top-half finish. Possibly still reeling from their FA Cup exit, Bournemouth continues to fight with key absentees like Enes Unal. Expect both teams to find the net, but Palace's momentum and home form will see them edge a win.

✧ Everton vs Manchester City: 1-2
Manchester City wins. Everton has shown resilience at Goodison but face City, desperate to climb back into the top 4. City will likely be without goalkeeper Ederson, currently a major doubt with a groin injury. Everton’s direct, physical style under Moyes could trouble a City side that’s sometimes vulnerable to set pieces, especially with a backup keeper. However, City’s attacking firepower and the urgency to avoid dropping points in a tight race for Champions League places should see them through—albeit not without a scare.

✧ West Ham vs Southampton: 2-0
West Ham wins. West Ham sits mid-table and safe from relegation, but they'll be eager to end a their winless run and finish the season on a high. Southampton has struggled all season and are already relegated, with poor defence and only 2 wins for the whole season. The Hammers have struggled for goals at home recently, but the Saints’ lack of fight and leaky defence should offer ample opportunity for a confidence-boosting win. I'm banking on West Ham’s eagerness to perform for home fans to secure them a win.

✧ Barcelona vs Celta Vigo: 2-1
Barcelona wins. Barca will be focused on maintaining their LaLiga lead as well as their impressive winning streak. They'll be close to full strength coming into this match, with a few minor injury doubts. Meanwhile, Celta sits at 7th, solidly mid-table, but have struggled for goals against top defences. With the home crowd behind them, Barca is expected to dominate possession and create chances. Celta’s resilience could keep it close for a while, but Barca will take the victory.

✧ Aston Villa vs Newcastle: 2-2
A Draw. Villa sits at 7th and are in excellent form, having won 4 of the last 5 games. They'll be pushing for a top 4 finish once again. On the other hand, Newcastle sits high on the table at 3rd, hopeful for key players returning from injury, including Isak and Gordon, also having won 4 of the last 5 games. Newcastle have dominated recent head-to-heads, but Villa’s home form and momentum could make this a true toss-up. In this high-stakes, high-energy match, a draw feels likely.

✧ Fulham vs Chelsea: 0-3
Fulham wins. Fulham and Chelsea meet in a West London derby this Sunday with European implications. Both teams have shown inconsistency in recent games, with Fulham losing 3 games and winning 2 in the last 5 matches, while Chelsea saw 1 loss, 2 draws, and 2 wins in the last 5 matches. Chelsea has dominated this fixture historically, but Fulham has won 2 of the last 5 meetings and are strong at home. This will be a close fight with both teams chasing Europe, but I think home advantage could cause Fulham to edge a win.

✧ Ipswich vs Arsenal: 2-1
Arsenal wins. Ipswich, sitting at 18th, hosts Arsenal, chasing the title at 2nd, this Sunday at Portman Road. They'll be fighting for survival, languishing near the bottom of the table and having lost 7 of the last 10 matches while being ravaged by injuries. Meanwhile, Arsenal continues to chase Liverpool, displaying greater quality and depth through the season. The Gunners' attack should overwhelm Ipswich's makeshift defence. A comfortable win for Arsenal should be no surprise.

✧ Manchester United vs Wolves: 2-1
Manchester United wins. United, sitting at 14th, is under pressure after a disappointing season where they find themselves in an unfamiliar spot mid-table. United's home form has also been patchy, only winning 1 of the last 5 games at home. Meanwhile, Wolves sit closely at 16th, having had an inconsistent start to the season. However, they have shown a recent pick up in performance, winning 4 of the last 5 matches. Additionally, both teams are equally affected by injuries. I expect a close fight though United will edge a win with the home crowd's support.

✧ Empoli vs Venezia: 2-1
Empoli wins. Both teams sit closely at the bottom of the table—Empoli at 19th and Venezia at 18th, locked in a fight against relegation. Both teams have struggled for goals and wins, with Empoli slightly better at home. Conversely, Venezia has had poor away form with no victories on their travels this season. In the last 5 games, Empoli has seen 3 losses and 2 draws, while Venezia has seen 1 loss, 3 draws, and 1 win. Their last 5 H2H encounters saw 3 wins to Venezia and 2 draws to Empoli, with the last one being a 1-1 result, showing how closely matches the teams are. I expect a tense, cagey affair where Empoli takes a close win with added home ground advantage.

✧ Leicester vs Liverpool: 0-3
Liverpool wins. Leicester will host Liverpool this Sunday on home ground at King Power Stadium. With an odds gap this large, it's hard to imagine an upset or loss for Liverpool, leading the league in 1st place with an impressive 76 points at time of writing. Meanwhile, Leicester is all but down at 19th with a mere 18 points. Liverpool's attack, led by season standout Salah and team mate Luis Díaz, should have no trouble breaking down Leicester's poor defence. Unfortunately for the the Foxes, their only hope is to frustrate early though their recent form and lack of confidence make an upset almost impossible.

✧ Bologna vs Inter: 2-1
Bologna wins. A slightly risky pick here, giving the win to Bologna, sitting at 5th, against current Serie A leaders Inter. Bologna has been Serie A's surprise package with commendable recent form, and especially tough to beat at home. Meanwhile, Inter will be focused on maintaining their position while closing in on the title, boasting the league's best attack and defence this season. However, Inter has faced a couple of losses on the road this season which questions if their away form could give Bologna a slight edge on home ground. I'm betting that it'll be an intense fight but Bologna could see a victory here.

✧ AC Milan vs Atalanta: 1-2
Atalanta wins. Absolutely looking forward to this Serie A match between Milan, sitting at 9th, and Atalanta at 3rd. Milan will be focused on making a final push for Europe, under pressure after a disappointing campaign. Atalanta holding steady in top 3 will be pushing for a Champions League spot. Both teams will be very motivated to take the win in this match, but Atalanta's high-pressing, attacking style could expose Milan's defensive frailties. Their last H2H encounter saw a home win for Atalanta. This will give Atalanta added confidence in facing Milan again. Expect goals and drama, but Atalanta’s edge in form could see them nick it late.

This week's Tournament consists of Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1 matches. Picks for the week:

This Week's Match Predictions:

✦ Manchester City vs Crystal Palace:2-1
Manchester City wins. Manchester City will be focused on climbing back into the Champions League spots as they host Crystal Palace this Saturday at the Etihad. Pep Guardiola’s side has struggled for consistency this season, but their home form remains formidable with 9 home wins this season. Star player Haaland is out due to ankle injury so it's uncertain how City will deal with this against Palace's attack. We'll certainly see a spirited Palace performance, but I think City will secure a narrow win.

✦ Brighton vs Leicester: 3-0
Brighton wins. Brighton is still in contention for European football as they face relegation-threatened Leicester. Fabian Hürzeler team has been impressive at home with 6 home wins and only 3 home losses all season, supported by forwards João Pedro and Danny Welbeck and midfielder Kaoru Mitoma. Meanwhile, Leicester faces struggles with defensive vulnerabilities, even more so away from home. Should be an easy win for the Seagulls.

✦ Nottingham Forest vs Everton: 2-1
Forest wins. At which point do we stop calling Forest an underdog of the season, considering their remarkable performance these past months? Nottingham Forest hosts Everton this Saturday with strong home record, winning 4 of the last 5 matches at City Ground. Morgan Gibbs-White will remain pivotal in Forest's attacking play, especially with rumours of Chris Wood's and Anthony Elanga's absence due to recent injuries. Meanwhile, Everton rely heavily on set-pieces under David Moyes, though struggling with consistency on the road with a lack of wins in the last 5 games. We'll see Forest win this one, but not without a fight if their key players are out for this weekend.

✦ Southampton vs Aston Villa: 0-2
Aston Villa wins. Southampton are all but relegated as they host Aston Villa who are chasing European football. Villa has been in excellent form under Unai Emery with 4 wins in the last 5 games. On the other hand, Southampton's defence has been porous and their morale, unsurprisingly, at rock bottom after a streak of losses. Despite home advantage for Southampton at St Mary's and relegation desperation, I think Villa will take this, easy.

✦ Monaco vs Marseille: 1-1
A Draw. A crucial clash for Champions League qualifications with Monaco sitting at 3rd and Marseille sitting at 2nd, currently. Mika Biereth leads Monaco with 12 goals this season, but will need support from Maghnes Akliouche to break down Marseille's organised defence. Marseille comes into this match with Mason Greenwood in fine form (16 goals), but their away record has been inconsistent. Both teams will fight just as hard for a spot in Champions League and I think their comparable drive will result in a stalemate at Stade Louis II this Saturday.

✦ Inter vs Cagliari: 3-0
Inter wins. Inter Milan will look to maintain their title charge against relegation-threatened Cagliari. Inter has shown impressive performance with Lautaro Martínez leading the goals, and they will likely exploit Cagliari's defensive weaknesses this weekend. Meanwhile Cagliari has only won twice away all season and should not trouble Inter's league-best defence. Inter will cruise this win.

✦ Arsenal vs Brentford: 2-0
Arsenal wins. Arsenal will be focused on keeping pace with Liverpool at the top as they host mid-table Brentford this Saturday at the Emirates Stadium. Bukayo Saka remains Arsenal's key player and will look to exploit Brentford's defensive lapses on the flanks. Bryan Mbeumo has been Brentford's standout performer this season, along with forward Yoane Wissa. They'll face a tough challenge against Arsenal's well-organised backline and superior home form. Despite Brentford's proven ability to trouble bigger sides on occasion, I've no doubt that Arsenal will win.

✦ Bayern München vs Borussia Dortmund: 3-1
Bayern wins. Der Klassiker sees Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich host Borussia Dortmund in a classic face-off. Harry Kane has been unstoppable for Bayern with a league-leading 23 goals and will relish facing Dortmund's shaky defence that has conceded far too many goals this season. Dortmund's Serhou Guirassy has shown flashes of brilliance but lacks consistent support from his teammates in big games. Bayern's home dominance and confidence at the top of the table makes them overwhelming favorites here despite Dortmund's potential on the counterattack.

✦ Juventus vs Lecce: 2-0
Juventus wins. At time of writing, Juventus sits at 5th and will aim to strengthen their grip on a European spot as they host Lecce facing relegation struggles. Dusan Vlahović has endured a frustrating spell but should find opportunities against Lecce's leaky defense that has conceded 50 goals this season. Lecce has struggled both at home and on the road this year and will probably lack the firepower to trouble Juve at Allianz Stadium where Igor Tudor's side has been solid defensively all season long.

✦ Chelsea vs Ipswich: 3-0
Chelsea wins. Chelsea sits in the top 4 while they host Ipswich at the other end of the table. Cole Palmer's performance in goals and assists fuel Chelsea's top 4 push while Ipswich's injury crisis deepens. The Blues have also been in solid form, particularly at Stamford Bridge with only 2 home defeats this season. On the other hand, Kieran McKenna's side has faced with much challenges, Ipswich bringing in 8 losses away from home. Despite a surprising home win for Town in their last H2H encounter, Chelsea's recent dominance should reflect in an easy win here.

✦ Liverpool vs West Ham: 3-0
Liverpool wins. Leaders Liverpool, with an impressive 73 points at the time of writing, will host West Ham at Anfield. Their performance will also be boosted by their remarkable home form—12 wins and only 1 home defeat this season. Despite revealing some vulnerability in a recent loss against Fulham, this season's wins more than outweigh this small setback. Arend Martijn Slot's high-pressing aggressive style and strategy has allowed for the Reds' dominance this season. Meanwhile, West Ham fights for survival in 15th position, with recent form offering little consolation and encouragement—1 win in the last 5 games. Liverpool will win again this Sunday.

✦ Wolves vs Tottenham: 2-1
Wolves wins. Wolves host Spurs at Molineux this Sunday. Was seriously considering between a draw and a Wolves win here but decided with the latter considering their recent form of 3 wins and 1 loss in the last 5 games. This is in contrast with Spurs 1 win and 3 losses in their last 5 matches. Wolves' recent upturn in form could see them through a successful battle against relegation this season. Meanwhile, Spurs find themselves in an unfamiliar position at 14th. Expecting to see Wolves' Matheus Cunha, with support from teammates, bring another win for the team here.

✦ Newcastle vs Manchester United: 2-1
Newcastle wins. This Sunday at the iconic St James' Park, Newcastle, at 5th, will host inconsistent United, currently sitting at 13th. Just shy of top 4, the Magpies will be looking to push for a Champions League spot. They've also had impressive recent form with 4 wins in the last 5 games, and a strong home record to complement that. Eddie Howe's aggressive and high-pressing style has seemed to pay off this season. Meanwhile, United finds themselves in an unfamiliar position, languishing mid table. On the road, Manchester United's form has also been inconsistent with 6 losses and only 4 wins. In their last H2H encounter, Newcastle bagged a 2-0 win and we could see a similar repeat this Sunday.

International break is over! This week's Tournament consists of Premier League, Serie A, and LaLiga matches. Picks for the week:

This Week's Match Predictions:

✧ Everton vs Arsenal: 0-1
Arsenal wins. Everton battles for survival as they host an Arsenal side, hovering close to the drop zone. It seems they have turned Goodison Park into a fortress—unbeaten in their last five home matches with 2 wins and 3 draws. Meanwhile, Arsenal fights for the title, probably under significant pressure. The Gunners' 0-0 draw with Everton in December exposed their struggles against low blocks, and without Ødegaard, their creativity hinges on Declan Rice’s vertical passing. Expecting a narrow win for Arsenal.

✧ Crystal Palace vs Brighton: 2-1
Crystal Palace wins. The M23 derby pits Palace’s mid-table comfort against Brighton’s European ambitions. Palace’s Dean Henderson (69.7% save rate) has been a revelation, but fan frustration simmers over Odsonne Édouard’s drought. Meanwhile, Brighton flirts with Europa League contention, relying on Kaoru Mitoma’s dribbling, though defensive fragility persists. With Palace winning 3-1 win in their last encounter and a solid home record, I'm expecting a tight win from them.

✧ Ipswich vs Wolves: 0-2
Wolves wins. Relegation looms for Ipswich, losing 8 or their last 9 matches. Injuries to Conor Chaplin and Wes Burns leave them toothless. Wolves face similar struggles hanging low on the table but Hwang Hee-chan's form keeps us hopeful. Wolves will also be determined for a win here, having lost to Ipswich 1-2 at home back in December. A comfortable win for Wolves?

✧ West Ham vs Bournemouth: 1-2
Bournemouth wins. London Stadium hosts a mid-table clash with European implications. At the time of writing, the Hammers stand at 16th face criticism for their defensive fragility, while the Cherries sit at 10th, thriving through Dango Ouattara. Their last H2H in December ended in a stalemate, revealing comparable strengths. I'm guessing it'll be a tight contest between the two teams, but Bournemouth will edge a win.

✧ Aston Villa vs Nottingham Forest: 2-2
A Draw. Aston Villa sits mid-table at 9th at time of writing, but have displayed impressive home form, undefeated in the last 5 home matches at Villa Park (2 wins, 3 draws). Meanwhile, Forest, the underdog of the season, chase Champions League at 3rd place. We might see Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White thrive against Villa's leaky defence, but Ollie Watkins’ pace could exploit Forest’s high press. This one will be exciting.

✧ AC Milan vs Fiorentina: 2-1
AC Milan wins. San Siro will host a battle for European spots this Saturday. At the time of writing, Milan and Fiorentina sit closely mid-table at 9th and 8th respectively. Both teams have also shown similar consistency in their last 5 matches with 2 wins, 3 losses for Milan and 3 wins, 2 losses for Fiorentina. With forwards Tammy Abraham and Samuel Chukwueze and home advantage, this will be a victory for Milan.

✧ Barcelona vs Real Betis: 2-1
Barcelona wins. No doubt that Barcelona will focus on retaining their title as they host Real Betis on home ground at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys this Saturday. In contrast, Real Betis sits at 6th place on the table but I wouldn't count this match as a walk in the park for Barca. Interestingly, both teams have won all of their last 5 matches—talk about consistency! Their previous H2H in December also ended in a draw, showing how close this match could be. Keen to see Robert Lewandowski continue leading the line for Barcelona, and into victory.

✧ Brentford vs Chelsea: 2-3
Chelsea wins. West London bragging rights at stake, a pinch of local rivalry to spice up our football this weekend. Brentford sits at 11th while Chelsea is in the top 4, revealing a significant gap between them on the table. However, the Bees have shown commendable performance throughout the season which will give them confidence to face off Chelsea. On the other hand, Chelsea has also shown inconsistency and even disappointing results, especially with away matches, though they are still well positioned for a Champions League spot. I'm expecting a high scoring round with Chelsea edging a win.

✧ Fulham vs Liverpool: 1-2
Liverpool wins. The Reds visit mid-table Fulham as they continue to retain their provisional title. With 0 losses in the last 5 games, they bring good momentum and morale into this match, though they experience some fatigue after a midweek European trip. Their previous H2H in December ended in a draw. Looking forward to watching this season's MVP Salah put on a stellar performance. A Liverpool win should be no surprise.

✧ Tottenham vs Southampton: 3-1
Tottenham wins. Spurs, struggling mid-table, face Southampton's relegation desperation in this match. Spurs has been inconsistent all season, especially with defensive vulnerabilities. Not only has this disappointed fans, this must have also made a dent on the squad's morale. On the other hand, the Saints are at the bottom of the table with a poor run this season, poor form both on the road and at home. It seems Ivan Jurić has found trouble balancing attacking intent and defensive solidity. In their last H2H, Tottenham won with a landslide of 5-0. I think Spurs will win again.

✧ Manchester United vs Manchester City: 1-2
Manchester City wins. Another local rivalry, the derby’s narrative centres on new manager Rúben Amorim vs Guardiola’s quadruple chase. Erling Haaland targets United’s error-prone defence, but Bruno Fernandes’ set-pieces could surprise. At the time of writing, Manchester United sits uncharacteristically at 13th, while City sits at 5th. The Red Devils have struggled with inconsistency all season, revealing defensive vulnerabilities and concerning home form. On the other hand, City has shown consistent attacking prowess and away form throughout the season, thriving under Pep's guidance. Definitely a City win for me.

✧ Atalanta vs Lazio: 2-1
Atalanta wins. An exciting Serie A clash! At the time of writing, Atalanta sits at top 3 while Lazio is 7th on the table. On top of home advantage and support from the home crowd, Atalanta has also shown their attacking prowess this season, though revealing inconsistencies at times. They will be determined to maintain their position or progress upwards on the table for a Champions League spot. Lazio has shown improvement under Baroni's lead, but still struggles to maintain consistency in performance. Their last encounter ended in a 1-1 draw, underscoring the possibility of a tight contest between the 2 teams. I'm expecting a close fight with both teams scoring, ultimately tipping towards Atalanta.

✧ AS Roma vs Juventus: 1-1
A Draw. I wish one side would win but my best prediction for this big match is a draw. Roma and Juventus are really close on the table, sitting at 6th and 5th respectively, both fighting for a Champions League spot. Roma has shown impressive recent form with 5 wins in 5, while Juventus pales in consistency with 3 wins and 2 losses in the last 5 matches. It seems Roma has, thankfully, found their rhythm as the season enters a crucial juncture, complemented by their formidable home form. On the other hand, Juventus' inconsistency in performance highlights attacking vulnerability. Their last H2H ended with a 0-0 draw so I'd think 1-1 would be a resasonable prediction for this match.

This week's TIPSTARS Tournament consists of 2 FA Cup, 10 Championship, and 1 Ligue 1 matches. Picks for the week:

This Week's Match Predictions:

✧ Fulham vs Crystal Palace: 1-1
A Draw, but Palace advances on penalties. Fulham's recent penalty triumph over Manchester United is overshadowed by criticism of their set-piece dependency (45% of goals). Palace, buoyed by their February 2-0 win at Craven Cottage, may exploit Fulham's vulnerable left flank. Eberechi Eze's big-game prowess and Palace's set-piece threat could force extra time. The psychological edge from their recent victory, combined with Fulham's defensive frailties, tips the scales in Palace's favour for a shootout win.

✧ Hull City vs Luton: 1-0
Hull City wins. Despite Luton's higher league position, their recent poor away form gives Hull an edge. Hull's home advantage and Luton's struggles on the road could be the deciding factors. Luton's Elijah Adebayo will need to be at his best to break down Hull's defense, but Hull's determination to climb away from the relegation zone might prove too much for the visitors. Hull's home form has also been formidable—unbeaten in three.

✧ Watford vs Plymouth:3-0
Watford wins. Watford sits comfortable mid-table, while Plymouth ranks at 24th. I'm expecting a comfortable win for Watford. Their superior league position, squad depth, and added home advantage definitely point the odds in favour of Watford. Plymouth, meanwhile, faces relegation threat and defensive frailties, further lowering their morale.

✧ Burnley vs Bristol City: 2-0
Burnley wins. At the time of writing, Burnley stands confidently in the top 3. Meanwhile, Bristol City has displayed inconsistency in recent games, facing off with Burnley's home strength and form. A straightforward win is expected with Burnley's pressure for promotion.

✧ Cardiff vs Sheffield Wednesday: 1-2
Sheffield Wednesday wins. Many are debating Sheffield Wednesday’s away form. Likewise, I seeing them capable of upsetting Cardiff, who have been faltering in their recent games—2 wins, 2 draws, and 2 losses in the last 6 matches. Comparing Wednesday’s resilience to Cardiff’s home struggles, I'm predicting a narrow away win.

✧ Leeds vs Swansea: 3-0
Leeds wins. This should come easy with Leeds leading at the top of the table currently. Expecting this match to be rather one-sided with Leeds proving their dominance time and again this season, determined to secure that promotion. Meanwhile, Swansea's mid-table is decent but pales in comparison.

✧ Middlesbrough vs Oxford United: 2-0
Middlesbrough wins. It seems like this is a common theme this week, but I'm expecting another comfortable win here for the hosts at Riverside. Apart from home advantage, Middlesbrough will also be pushing for playoffs, while Oxford United struggles as a newly promoted side facing inconsistencies and defensive issues—3 losses in the last 5 matches. Middlesbrough will take the win here.

✧ Norwich vs West Brom:1-2
West Brom wins. The evidence leans toward West Brom winning, given their unbeaten run in the last 5 matches, 2 wins and 3 draws, and their position in the playoff spots, fighting for promotion. Meanwhile, Norwich's home advantage could keep the game competitive, but their recent form has been inconsistent, with 1 win and 2 losses in the last 5 matches. This hints at a lack of momentum for a win this weekend. I think West Brom's motivation and tactical setup will give them an upper hand.

✧ Portsmouth vs Blackburn:1-2
Blackburn wins. Blackburn currently stands at 9th, while Portsmouth stands at 17th, giving them an edge based on overall performance. Blackburn has shown to struggle with recent inconsistency—4 losses and 1 draw in the last 5 matches. Portsmouth, with comparable form, has had 2 wins and 3 losses in the last 5 matches. This suggests a competitive encounter. Blackburn will enter this game with added pressure since this will be crucial for their push for a playoff spot. On the other hand, Portsmouth enters with home advantage. I'm guessing this will level out in a tight win for Blackburn.

✧ Stoke City vs QPR:1-1
A Draw. Both teams are likely to play cautiously, with Stoke aiming to avoid defeat and QPR looking to secure a point away from home. The match is expected to be tightly contested, with both sides having opportunities but ultimately settling for a draw. Stoke City’s home form has been inconsistent, with 1 win and 1 draw in their last 2 home matches, but the pressure to perform in front of their own fans could lead them to play more defensively, aiming for at least a point. Similarly, QPR has seen a streak of away losses in recent games. I'm expecting a stalemate for this match.

✧ Sunderland vs Millwall: 2-1
Sunderland wins. Sunderland sits at 4th place and is in the playoff spots, pushing for promotion, but showing a strong yet inconsistent recent form. Meanwhile, Millwall sits mid-table at 11th with a mixed away form. Given Sunderland’s home advantage and their need for points for promotion, evidence points towards a victory for Sunderland.

✧ Brighton vs Nottingham Forest: 1-2
Nottingham Forest wins. Nottingham Forest's superior league standing and recent momentum suggest they can secure a narrow victory away at Brighton. Their wins this season also include notable victories while on the road. Despite Brighton's home advantage, Forest's attacking prowess and historical head-to-head success, including a 7-0 win earlier, lean toward a Forest win. I expect the match to be close with both teams likely to score, but ultimately tipping towards Forest.

✧ Monaco vs Nice:2-1
Monaco wins. Looking forward to this exciting match between Monaco, currently sitting at 3rd, and Nice, currently sitting at 4th. At the point of writing, both teams have raked up 47 points, making this a closely contested match. Interestingly, their head-to-head record shows several draws, suggesting the match could be even tighter than expected. Monaco, playing at home, is expected to dominate possession and create more scoring opportunities. OGC Nice has shown resilience, especially away, but their recent draws indicate they might struggle to break down Monaco’s defence. With both teams vying for Champions League spots, this high-quality game is anticipated to be intense.

Our Tournament for this week consists of 12 UEFA Nations League matches and 1 European Qualifiers match. Picks for the week:

This Week's Match Predictions:

✧ Moldova vs Norway: 0-2
Norway wins. Norway travels to the Zimbru Stadium in Chișinău for this World Cup Qualification Group A opener with considerable momentum, having shown impressive form in recent outings, while Moldova continues to struggle against higher-ranked opposition. We'll see Norway's attacking firepower against Moldova's defence, which has been relatively porous against quality opposition, granted they've managed to keep recent matches low-scoring. While Moldova has shown notable strength at home, I'm betting that Norway's squad quality will prevail.

✧ Georgia vs Armenia: 2-1
Georgia wins. This relegation battle will be crucial for both teams avoiding the drop from their Nations League division. Georgia comes into this match with slightly better recent form, having demonstrated defensive solidity with under 2.5 goals in the last 4 of 5 matches, especially with star winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. On the other hand, Armenia's recent away victory against Latvia will give the team some confidence coming into this match, with Eduard Spertsyan providing creative spark midfield. I think both teams will score, but with Georgia edging a tight win.

✧ Hungary vs Turkiye: 2-1
Hungary wins. Looking forward to this exciting Nations League B playoff match, both teams with a talented lineup. Hungary will look to Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai to dictate play from the centre, while Roland Sallai provides attacking thrust from wide positions. Meanwhile, Turkey's Inter Milan star Hakan Çalhanoğlu challenges with his set piece prowess, while young Real Madrid sensation Arda Güler provides superior technical quality. However, the absence of Turkey's veteran defender Merih Demiral could weaken the team's backline against Hungary's dynamic attack.

✧ Iceland vs Kosovo: 2-2
A draw. Expect a thrilling, high-scoring relegation battle. Kosovo secured 4 victories in their last 5 matches across all competitions, demonstrating their growing competitiveness on the international stage. With high confidence and equipped with Mallorca striker Vedat Muriqi and his aerial prowess, Kosovo will be looking for victory here. Meanwhile, Iceland's Albert Guðmundsson and his impressive attacking moves, maintaining their offensive threat having scored consistently in recent matches. The Icelandic team typically performs well in front of their passionate home crowd, which could give them the edge in this crucial fixture.

✧ Serbia vs Austria: 1-1
A draw. Austria enters this match with high morale, having displayed impressive form in recent outings—only 1 defeat in their last 5 matches. Despite Real Madrid David Alaba's absence due to injury, weakening Austria's defence and leadership, Marcel Sabitzer is expected to step and drive the team forward from midfield. Serbia struggled recently with 4 losses/draws in their last 5 matches, but playing at home should boost their confidence and play. The team is also driven by a formidable offensive trio with Fulham's Mitrović and Juventus' Vlahović and Milinković-Savić. Austria won 2-1 in their last direct meeting, a result Serbia will be eager to avenge on home soil.

✧ Slovenia vs Slovakia: 2-3
Slovakia wins. I'm expecting a high-scoring affair here, both teams showing attacking intent. Slovenia has had mixed bag of recent results: 2 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw in the last 5 matches, showing flashes of brilliance but struggling with consistency. They have Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak giving Slovenia's defence added security and confidence. Slovakia rides a wave of positive momentum with only 1 loss in their last 5 matches. Milan defender Milan Škriniar will marshal their backline and provide defensive stability. Slovenia's home advantage could level the playing field, but I think Slovakia will edge a win.

✧ Scotland vs Greece: 2-0
Scotland wins. Following their recent impressive 2-1 away victory against Poland, Scotland will enter this match with high morale, having shown remarkable improvement under Steve Clarke. Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson and Napoli's Scott McTominay's goalscoring will be crucial to the team's performance. Greece has had exceptional recent form with just 1 loss in the last 5 matches, building momentum to this crucial fixture, demonstrating their ability to frustrate strong opposition. Both teams are equally prepared for this match, but I'm betting on Scotland's win with home advantage on their side.

✧ Germany vs Italy: 1-0
Germany wins. One of the weekend's marquee matchups, I'm excited witness this face off between the 2 European powerhouses. Germany's exciting young talents Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala have been in sensational form for their club sides, providing creativity and goal threat from attacking midfield positions. Italy brings their trademark defensive organisation and tactical discipline to this clash. Notable members of the Italian squad included PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa. Expecting a hard fight for both teams, but Germany's home advantage and recent head-to-head record tip the scales slightly in their favour.

✧ France vs Croatia: 3-1
France wins. A rematch of the 2018 World Cup final? France remains in formidable form with 4 wins in their last 5 games, led by captain Kylian Mbappé, whose blistering pace and clinical finishing make him a force to reckon with. Croatia, though an underdog in this match, consistently punches above their weight in international competitions, relying on Luka Modrić's experience vision, passing range, and leadership. No doubt both teams will put on a good fight, but considering France's strong home record and overall form, they're my pick for this match.

✧ Portugal vs Denmark: 2-1
Portugal wins. Cristiano Ronaldo continues to lead Portugal's attack with his remarkable longevity and goalscoring instinct. Midfielders Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) and Bernardo Silva (Manchester City) play alongside the legend, offering creative qualities that complement Ronaldo's leadership. Denmark's midfield engine Christian Eriksen remains their creative hub, while striker Rasmus Højlund offers pace, power, and finishing ability, both also playing for Manchester United, could challenge Portugal's defence. Denmark's organisation and tactical awareness will ensure this is no straightforward encounter, but ultimately, Portugal's home advantage and individual quality should give them the edge.

✧ Spain vs Netherlands: 1-2
Netherlands wins. A controversial pick? Another highly anticipated match, pitting Spain's possession-based approach against the Dutch attacking philosophy. Spain's recent form has been exceptional, with 5 wins in their last 5 matches—this spells both high performance and consistency, nothing less from the defending champions. Meanwhile, Netherlands has had a more mixed run of form with 1 win, 3 draws, and 1 loss in the last 5 matches. However, with the return of Barcelona forward Memphis Depay and Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk's defence, I'm betting on a gut feeling here and hoping for an underdog win. Recent head-to-head stats also tip slightly towards the Dutch, winning 3 of their last 5 encounters.

✧ Belgium vs Ukraine: 1-0
Belgium wins. Both teams will look to secure their position to avoid relegation in this match. Belgium's recent form has lacked spark, struggling to find consistency with 4 losses and 1 draw in the last 5 matches. This could be partly due to the Belgian national team undergoing a phase of transition with several key players retiring or approaching retirement. On the other hand, Ukraine has shown promising recent form with 2 wins, 2 draws, and 1 defeat in their last 5 matches. Ukraine's exciting young talent is exemplified by Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk, whose pace and dribbling ability make him a constant danger on the counter-attack. This is a tough Pick, but perhaps Belgium's home advantage could bring them a tight win.

✧ Ireland vs Bulgaria: 1-0
Ireland wins. Ireland's home advantage will provide a significant and much needed boost to the team with inconsistent recent form—2 wins and 3 defeats in the last 5 matches. Their most recent outing was a 5-0 loss to England and this could've caused a dent in the morale. Ireland will look towards West Ham striker Evan Ferguson and goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu to enhance their performance against Bulgaria. The Bulgarian team also presents a mixed bag with 2 wins, 2 draws, and 1 defeat in the last 5 matches. Their goal-scoring record remains modest, but they've shown resilience where needed. We'll probably witness a tight contest, with a narrow win for the Republic of Ireland.

TIPSTARS.gg
on 13/03/2025, 04:14:06 UTC
Our Tournament for this week consists of 13 Premier League and Championship matches on 15 March 2025. Here are our Picks!

This Week's Match Predictions:
✧ Everton vs West Ham: 1-1

A Draw. Everton’s survival instincts hinge on set-pieces like Tarkowski and Branthwaite's defence, but their toothless attack can’t convert. Meanwhile, West Ham relies on Kudus’ flair and Bowen’s counters that have shown to be inconsistent away. I'm expecting a gritty midfield battle at Goodison with a cagey 1-1 stalemate.

✧ Ipswich vs Nottingham Forest: 1-2

Nottingham Forest wins. Forest has been this season's standout story, sitting at top 3 at the time of writing. Their recent 1-1 FA Cup draw with Ipswich, winning 5-4 on penalties, would give them greater morale facing Ipswich once more in the league. Forest’s ascent under Nuno Espírito Santo contrasts sharply with Ipswich’s relegation fight. Forest's high press should overwhelm Ipswich's shaky defence, home advantage yielding little joy here.

✧ Manchester City vs Brighton: 3-1

Manchester City wins. This weekend's highlight with a race for top 5. We'll see a clash of styles at the Etihad—Pep's tactical symphony vs. Hürzeler's chaotic masterpiece. City seeks to defend their title and are in ruthless form with Haaland's hunger for goals, making them near-unstoppable at home. Brighton brings Mitoma's wizardry but their high-risk, right-reward approach often leaves them exposed defensively. Betting that City's class will prevail here, but not without a fight.

✧ Southampton vs Wolves: 1-2

Wolves win. Southampton battles relegation, while injuries to key defenders leave them all the more vulnerable. Under Pereira, we are witnessing Wolves' resurgence with Cunha's creativity, and improved defence. Home advantage at St. Mary's gives the Saints hope, but Wolves' squad depth and momentum might tip the scales. I think we'll see Wolves edge a tight win here, inevitably deepening Southampton's relegation fears.

✧ Blackburn vs Cardiff: 2:1

Blackburn wins. We have here a mid-table Championship clash with playoff whispers. Blackburn, inconsistent but dangerous at home, relies on Eustace's midfield control, though recent team injuries test squad depth. Cardiff is defensively resolute under Bulut but brunt upfront. The Rovers' playoff push adds urgency to the game, and I think we'll see this conclude in a close win for them.

✧ Coventry vs Sunderland: 2-1

Coventry wins. Call this a risky Pick—I think this could be one of the highlight matches of the weekend, both teams vying for promotion. Despite Sunderland ranking slightly higher at the time of writing, Coventry has a resilient home record (6 wins in 8 at CBS Arena), though they face defensive headaches with injuries. Sunderland is erratic on the road, lacking a consistent striker in the team. Pile on the psychological edge in Coventry's last win over Sunderland, I think we'll see another close victory at home for Coventry.

✧ Luton vs Middlesbrough: 2-1

Luton wins. Survival desperation vs. playoff ambition—which one will prevail? Luton will fight against the relegation mire they find themselves in, while struggling for consistency. It seems Carlton Morris has rediscovered his form after a slow start, and this could boost Luton's performance here. Boro boasts sharper attack, though their away form remains patchy. Betting that Luton's desperation and home advantage will narrowly see them through this round.

✧ Oxford United vs Watford: 1-2

Watford wins. A match that seeks mid-table security while fighting relegation fears. Oxford will lean on home grit but might struggle with defensive frailties and lack of firepower. Watford, comfortable mid-table but inconsistent on the road, boast better squad depth and attacking quality. Oxford's survival pressure could lead to late collapses, while the Hornets' relaxed position allows more freedom. It'll be a scrappy affair and a narrow win for Watford.

✧ Plymouth vs Derby: 1-0

Plymouth wins. Plymouth are rock-bottom on the table and will be desperate to claw out of the relegation zone. Fortunately, playing at home does give them an edge. Derby will also be looking move up to be safe from relegation, but their away form has been dire. Plymouth's bench is limited, but Derby's squad depth is also spread thin after midweek cup action. I expect a nervy, low-scoring battle tipping towards Plymouth.

✧ Preston vs Portsmouth: 2-0

Preston wins. Both lie comfortably mid-table with little at stake but pride. Preston has an edge, having the advantage of home strength and Riis' goals. Defensive lapses and fatigue from a congested schedule will test their resolve, though. Meanwhile, Portsmouth has been inconsistent on the road, boasting attacking flair with Bishop, but lacking defensive solidity. This win will push Preston closer to the top half.

✧ Swansea vs Burnley: 1-3

Burnley wins. Burnley finds themselves in the top 3 at the time of writing, and naturally, their higher tier gives them an edge and morale boost. They chase automatic promotion while maintaining ruthless form—Manuel Benson stepping up in attack. Swansea, mid-table and drifting, show flashes of creativity but lack consistency and defensive solidity. I expect an almost one-sided affair a comfortable win for Burnley.

✧ West Brom vs Hull City: 2-0

West Brom wins. West Brom is in the top 6 and will be motivated to push for automatic promotion, Jed Wallace and Josh Maja in peak form. Hull, hovering just above the drop zone, struggle for consistency and have questionable away form. West Brom's home advantage also gives them an added edge against Hull City. This will be an easy win for West Brom.

✧ Bournemouth vs Brentford: 2-1
Bournemouth wins. A mid-table league clash with contrasting momentum. Bournemouth safe and comfortable, thrive at home at Vitality Stadium. Brentford, chasing a top-half finish, rely on Mbeumo's flair, but injuries to key players test their depth and defence. Brentford's unimpressive away form and fatigue from a congested schedule contrasts the Cherries' home comfort. This win nudges Bournemouth closer to the top half.

What do you think? Are we overrating any of these picks?

✨ Agree or Disagree? European Football Picks and Predictions (Updated Weekly)
by
TIPSTARS.gg
on 06/03/2025, 07:26:26 UTC
Every week, we feature football Picks and predictions from our team, based on selected European football matches featured in our weekly Tournament. The lineup of 13 matches changes every week, including matches from: Premier League, Championship, FA Cup, LaLiga, Serie A, Bundesliga.

This Week's Match Predictions:
✦ Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City: 1-3
Manchester wins. Excited for this top-four clash. Forest's home form has been formidable under Nuno Espirito Santo, pushing above their weight in 3rd place. City chases the title, regaining league form after key stars like Rodri and John Stones sidelined. City’s depth and attacking prowess, spearheaded by Erling Haaland, should see them through. Expect a thrilling match, concluding with a City victory.

✦ Burnley vs Luton: 2-0
Burnley wins. Burnley pushes for promotion at 3rd, while Luton battles to avoid relegation at 22nd. Burnley also boasts a strong home record, complemented by a recent 2-1 away victory over Cardiff. On the other hand, Luton has struggled with away fixtures. Burnley’s possession football should dominate the Hatters’ physical style.

✦ Derby vs Blackburn: 2-1
Derby wins. Both teams are looking for mid-table security with equally matched odds. The Rams have fallen behind on the table, and desperation could drive them to clutch a win. Derby's home ground advantage at Pride Park could also give them an added edge for a narrow win in this battle.

✦ Plymouth vs Sheffield Wed: 1-1
A Draw. Plymouth struggles near the relegation zone, though showing grit with recent draws against fellow strugglers. On the other hand, Wednesday sits mid-table at 13th but has yet to present formidable form—3 consecutive defeats. Wednesday's leaky defence against Plymouth's urgency could spark an open contest. I expect both teams to score, yet for the scores to settle in a draw.

✦ Sheffield Utd vs Preston: 3-0
Sheffield United wins. Sheffield United is at the top of the Championship table and is laser-focused on sealing automatic promotion. Their balanced attack and stout defence make them heavy favourites at Bramall Lane. Preston seeks to maintain mid-table stability, with signs of struggle with consistency, especially with away matches. I'm betting on Sheffield United dominating this match.

✦ Sunderland vs Cardiff: 2-1
Sunderland wins. Sunderland, at the top of the table, hosts Cardiff at 21st in a classic promotion vs survival battle. With home ground advantage at the Stadium of Light, Sunderland is usually solid with a free-scoring offence led by Jack Clarke. Cardiff's form is unpredictable with occasional surprises. Sunderland's quality should bring them the win, but Cardiff could bring in a goal.

✦ Swansea vs Middlesbrough: 1-2
Middlesbrough wins. Swansea flounders at 16th, having lost 7 of their last 9 games. Their home games also tend to be low-scoring grinds, though I expect them to tighten up after recent defensive lapses. Middlesbrough chases a playoff at 9th, having won 2 of the last 3 matches, but their away form is a concern. With contrasting ambitions and past performance, a tight win is expected for Boro.

✦ West Brom vs QPR: 2-1
West Brom wins. West Brom is clinging to the final playoff spot at 6th in an incredibly tight Championship race, plus they've been strong at home all season. They will be challenged by a resurgent QPR, sitting at 14th, a big improvement from their early relegation worries. The rangers have shown spark under new management. West Brom will look to control possession, but QPR will not go down without a fight. West Brom win is the safe call here.

✦ Brighton vs Fulham: 2-3
Fulham wins. An interesting mid-table clash with European aspirations, Brighton and Fulham are separated by only a point in the standings at the point of writing. The Seagulls are tough to beat at the Amex, losing only one home league game all season. Meanwhile, Fulham has adapted well post-Mitrovic and boasts a strong away form. Marco Silva's side will be confident after some solid results, but will be wary of Brighton's love to dominate possession. I'm betting on a tight match and a close victory for Fulham.

✦ Crystal Palace vs Ipswich: 2-0
Crystal Palace wins. The Eagles are fresh off an FA Cup derby win over Millwall and are favourites at Selhurst Park. They've been mid-table steady, relying on Eberechi Eze's creativity, though suffering a blow as striker Jean-Philippe Mateta limped off injured in the cup win. Ipswich had a tough fight top flight and slipped into the relegation zone after a string of losses. Ipswich's recent losses have revealed their unsteady defence. Experience and home advantage tilt heavily toward Palace—expect a routine victory.

✦ Liverpool vs Southampton: 4-0
Liverpool wins. Liverpool is in the thick of the title race, firing on all cylinders, whilst Southampton are just trying to survive their first season back in the Prem. The Reds are nearly unstoppable, with Mo Salah making history, Darwin Nunez, and Luis Diaz. In contrast, the Saints arrive low on confidence after being thrashed by Chelsea 4-0 last week, sitting at the bottom of the table. Without a doubt, Liverpool crushes here at Anfield.

✦ Brentford vs Aston Villa: 1-1
A draw. Another mid-table face-off, vying for the "best of the rest". Perhaps, the weekend's most evenly matched game. The Bees are tough to beat at home and have been in fine form. Thomas Frank will lean on in-form forward Yoane Wissa who has found his scoring touch of late. Under Unai Emery, Villa has European ambitions themselves, typically playing on the front foot. However, Villa has sometimes struggled on the road against well-organised teams—Brentford's organised high press and set-piece prowess could unsettle them. Hard to tell who will take a win, so I'm settling for a draw here.

✦ Wolves vs Everton: 1-2
Everton wins. A relegation 6-pointer that promises tension? Both find themselves near the drop zone after inconsistent campaigns. Julen Lopetegui’s preseason departure gave way to Gary O’Neil at Wolves, and he’s still trying to solidify their form. Wolves are coming off an FA Cup elimination and remain “fighting hard to avoid relegation”. They'll also be without key attacker Matheus Cunha for this clash. Everton under Sean Dyche are gritty but have scored few goals in the league, with an abysmal away record in recent years. The Toffees will likely set up to frustrate and maybe steal a goal or 2. And maybe, steal the victory for this match.

What do you think? Are we overrating any of these picks? Let’s hear it below!

^  And yet they haven't been charged of anything...

Anyway, interesting match between Nottingham Forest and Man City this weekend for the early kick off.  The home side is at 3.80..?  Seems like value for the draw no bet at 2.75 for Nottingham Forest but the double chance and BTTS combo at 2.65 looks really good imho.

Nottingham Forest lost just one match at home in their last 8 home games.  And with City being City..  They prolly have a good chance to score a goal in this spot.  What do you guys think?

Wondering how City's recent defeat against Real Madrid will affect their morale. Think my bet is still on City against Forest though.

Close odds for Derby vs Blackburn this weekend. Thinking of betting on the Rams with home advantage but they haven't been fantastic this year. Thoughts?

Nottingham Forest is playing at home and they have quite impressive performance throughout this season so I think we can't underestimate Nottingham Forest now because on the other hand Manchester City's performance is very bad this season regardless of the motivation of both teams but I think Nottingham Forest and Man City have the same ambition to win the match I slightly favor Nottingham Forest in the match this weekend.
But whatever will happen later will not end the competition for the top 4 because the journey this season is still very long.
Manchester City has a 50% chance to win even playing away because they improved their performance at this time. As we have seen, they won dramatically versus Tottenham and Newcastle. The city is beginning to grow and has found the confidence to get back on the champions' track. While Nottingham, I see a decrease in performance in the last four matches. They lost when they met Newcastle and Fulham and had enough trouble beating Ipswich with a Penalty kick. And maybe The city will begin a new step if Rodri comes in as a starter as he has recovered from injury. This match will be a moment of awakening the citizen to restart their glory days, and be an interesting match if winning with a big score.

Leaning towards a City win for this weekend. Think they'll be especially motivated after the Champions League elimination. Fully acknowledge that Forest has home ground advantage and good form recently though. Will be an exciting match.

Mentors accelerate growth, but self-driven curiosity and resilience often define success. Is it the teacher who makes the student, or the student who chooses to learn?
