I need to peel a physical Bitcoin, enter it into electrum, transfer it to coinbase and sell it. If you help me with that and you are a trusted member of this community, I will pay you $500. Need to call me and walk me through the process. Once money hits Coinbase I'll hook up $500.  Need references. If you have sterling references on this forum I'll front $100 and send the $400 once money hits Coinbase. Thanks!!!

Before you peel it, try to sell it, you might get 20-40% premium on the value...

Thanks. I posted here a few months ago and people were saying the premium would only be like 5% over BTC value and recommending just peeling it because 5% isn't worth the hassle of trying to sell a coin for $100k when I can't ship it since they won't insure that much value.

Any reason you are going with Coinbase? There are lower fee places. I do use them but accept the fact that it's costing me a bit of $.

Where are you located?

In addition to what @LoyceV said about doing it offline, there are some other tools out there that also work offline but are a bit more difficult to use.

Keep in mind that for what you are doing you really have to be moving the entire balance to the exchange. Otherwise you have to worry about where any change from the transaction is going.

What type of coin and what amount? As others have said it might be worth a bit more $ then just face value.

You can see I'm not on this forum a ton, but if you check my history you can see I was up on here in 2012-2013. So I think you can realize that I have a little bit of clout and just need some technical help. Thank you!

Obviously I'm not gonna tell you the private key, just need you to walk me through the process of accessing it and selling it and I'll give you $500 not playing, it's enough BTC where $500 is worth the safety of me doing it myself and fucking up.

Not your keys, not your bitcoins.

You already have a cold wallet, and let's think why you decided to use that cold wallet? To keep your private keys offline, secretly. And now you want to import it to Coinbase wallet?

It is conflicting activities.

Just don't.

As he is referring to Coinbase custodial service, it is not even possible.

What is in the mind of TadpolesIsAWinner is not about importing the private key into a custodial exchanges. What he wants is about a means he can safely sell his coin on Coinbase.

Exactly.

You don't need a new computer, just use one that you're certain is clean of malware.  Don't connect it to the internet while you interact with the private keys.  If you don't trust that your computer is free of malware (and even if you do,) the safest way to make absolutely sure is to create a live USB to boot the computer for temporary use.  Tails OS is probably the most user friendly, and safest for the less technically capable.  The advantage with tails is it comes with Electrum pre-installed and ready to receive your private keys.

On an online computer you would use a watch only wallet to create transaction you want to sign, and save it (.psbt) onto a clean USB drive.  On the off-line computer you would import the private key into Electrum, then sign the transaction, and save the the signed transaction (.txn) onto the USB.  Return the USB to the online computer, open the .txn file in Electrum to broadcast the transaction.

K can I use the same computer for all this? Take the Ethernet cable out and turn off wifi, then boot from Tails OS, type private key into electrum, then just put the Ethernet cable back in and it'll broadcast the tx? Then once it's broadcasted what wallet is it in? Or do I send the btc from electrum in another tx to my Coinbase wallet or account?

Thanks for your help!

Hi everyone,

Been out of the loop regarding the technical aspect of BTC but have a couple cold storage private keys I need to redeem and sell to pay some bills. Wondering the safest way to do this without risking my BTC. I remember back in the day people were saying that to be 100% sure you'd need to buy a computer that's never been online because of possible keyloggers and stuff. Is there another safe way where I don't have to buy a new computer? Or if I do need to buy a new computer, does anyone have directions on what I need to do? Or should I use the Blockchain app? Can you put private keys directly into Coinbase or Coinbase Wallet?

Thanks!!!

I appreciate everyone's input!

To help maintain history, if you get it graded I’d pay a hair over 1BTC.

How much of a hair? Lol. Just want to make sure the cost and effort of trying to get it graded is worth it. I'm sure you understand. It's been in an air tight seal in my safety deposit box since about 2014 I think. I do like the idea of keeping it in tact and loaded as a piece of history. I would have liked to do that if I could afford to.

I have an unredeemed one. Wondering how much I could get for it if I got it graded. 1 BTC coin. Also wondering how to go about selling it. Thanks.

I am interested in buying before or after grading. Where are you located?

One thing I forgot to translate in the video was that the interviewer said the dividend will maintain a low level for a long time, as funds need to be raised to test the 3rd Gen.

3rd Gen coming out in February though right (according to interview)?  So "a long time" = 4 months then?

Do you guys know where can I buy some shares that I can convert to direct shares afterwards?

You should be able to buy shares on Havelock and Bitfunder and then convert them to direct shares.  You just have to email TAT.

Someone's excited.  I was thinking about going in...put a buy order in at .66.  Lowest sell order was 58 shares for a little under .8 btc.  Watching...watching...someone picked up all 58 in one buy.  I then panic bought 3 shares real quick at .8.

Edit: Less than 5 min after I posted this, already up at .87 btc and rising fast...

Edit 2: 5 min later, .95 and rising....
