It really depends whatcryptocurrencies will you trade. I use bitstamp for buying coins from fiat, bitrex for exchanging main coins and etherdelta for various not so known coins.

If you have other cryptocurrencies beside Bitcoin, than yoz should Hodl and wait the bitcoin skyrocket. If Bitcoins are only cryptocurrency that you have, you can take 1 Bitcoin and invest in some altcoins. Make your own research and invest based on your preferences.

Finally Ethereum is rising too. It is near 500$ and I expect that in Q1 2018 could be even 1000$. I will just hold and see what will happen.

Invest in both. Or if you don't have enough money to invest in both, then I would chose Ethereum. I think that it is better coin for long term investment.

Re: Do you think that atl-coins are still "alt"?

I think that every person will have a different opinion on this topic. Some will say that Bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrency, and all other coins are alternate coins. Other opinion is that because there are also some other good coins out there, they should not be treated as alt coins. Here I talk about Ethereum, Monero and few other good coins. At the and, for me it doesn't matter if something is called altcoin or not. Only thing that is important, is the value of the coin and the earning that we can gain from the coins.

Re: Donations for Airdrops

Airdrops should be free. If donation is mandatory, than I am out of that airdrop. But if you feel that it is project worth of your donation and you like people behind the project, you can always donate. It is your free choice to do so.  I am not sure that I would donate some project while I am applying for airdrop.

Yes it is hard, therefore you should choose one to three coins that are in top 15 of coinmarket cap. I would go with Bitcoin and Ethereum first, and than make my own research which coin would be good choice to invest. You need to read a lot, and follow the trends. Also you should read the bitcoin talk forum and check what is going on with some coin. When there are some news that can affect the value on coin, people here will add them here as soon as they see it. This is really valuable.

Re: Ethereum Price Moves Closer to $500, as New All-Time Highs Achieved
by
Tamy

On the one hand that is great news because ethereum is about 30% of my portfolio. Bad thing is that my portfolio is still small since I entered crypto world 3 months ago. If the ethereum will rise and I hope it will, it will be harder to buy some decent amounts of ethereum. It will be more likely to buy some percenteges of ethereum. That is the reason why I need to find a good coin that has a potential for raising x times, and later on transfer earned value in ethereum and bitcoin.

Re: Should I keep holding my NEO?
by

I would hold Neo. It is a good coin and has a potential to grow. Maybe it will be the future Ethereum for China. I wouldn't sell it now. I think that the price of the Neo coin will raise in the near future. So my recommendation would be just to hold and see what will happen.

I agree with you that most of them don't have any quality. The question is how can you know will it be a good coin or not? Maybe we can eliminate those that don't have whitepaper and a roadmap. Are there any other ideas how to decide which coins don't have any value and we should not even bother with them?

Re: Life after crypto?
by

I can not say that I am addicted to crypto, but I enjoy learning about crypto, trading, communicating here with great like minded people. I invest about 1-2 hours daily in reading about crypto. I started recently so I am still green in this world and I love it. I hope that it will last long. But if crypto disapears, I am sure that something technologically even more advanced will appear.

Re: What do you think of my portfolio?
by
Tamy
on 22/11/2017, 21:18:28 UTC
My opinion is that you have too many coins in your portfolio for the stated amount. I would go with maximum 5-6 coins especially since you are in the crypto world for a short time. The portfolio is interesting. I see lot of good coins. For some of them I didn't hear, but this doesn't mean anything since there are so many coins this days. I would suggest you to do your own research and stick to the coins that you find most valuable. Maybe for the beginning you shouldn't go with so many coins. Also I would increase the percentage of bitcoin. My strategy is to have at least 50% of bitcoins in my portfolio.

I propose you to read a lot, to make your own research and than decide what coin is the best for you. I am not long in the crypto world but my conclusions are that the best invest is in bitcoin and that bitcoin should be at least 50% of the portfolio. In my opinion other good coins are ETH, Monero, Zcash, but as I already said, you should do the analysis and then decide where to invest.

Re: Is this a scam

You should be very careful when it comes to ICOs. Many of them are scams so good research is required. You should check their capabilities and experience of the team members, how are they interacting with the community, is their white paper mature, how the website looks like, etc. It is not so important what somebody said about the ICO, maybe he/she is disappointed in who knows the reason. Double check everything and do your own research. If you find it good enough then you should invest, otherwise stay away from it.

Re: PROFITABLE ALTCOINS
by
Tamy
on 17/11/2017, 17:46:47 UTC
It is hard to tell which altcoins will be profitable in next years, but I would vote for old - well-known coins like ETH, Monero, Zcash. I have these coins in my portfolio and will buy more now when they are low. I will keep holding them for a longer time. I suggest that you should do your own research and decide based on that what are the best altcoins to invest.

Everybody here have their favorite coins in which they believe, as well as I have. So if you would like to pick some of altcoins, you should do your own research. You should check the market cap, story behind the project, communication with the community, are there any products already in place etc. I can tell you that I believe in ETH and Monero, but have also some other coins in my portfolio that I believe are worth of holding.

I spend my spare time on reading and learning about crypto. I am checking few times a day blockfolio. It is time consuming but very interesting and I am very happy that I have entered this world. I hope that it will bring me some decent profit.

Re: Where to buy?
by
Tamy

I use bitstamp for buying coins from fiat. Then I use bittrex for buyin altcoins or Etherdelta for buying ERC20 tokens. I am trying to find alternative for Etherdelta because user experience at this exchange is very bad. If some of you could please recommend another exchange with many of ERC20 tokens, I would be thankful.
