Is it possible to launch an independent bitcoin network?
by
Tanjima
on 08/05/2018, 03:24:47 UTC
Hello,

We would like to launch a peer2peer currency bounded to a specific community®ion (i.e. central europe) and therefore we found it more practical to have our own network, parallel to the main bitcoin thread, independent from the speculations of GPU miners.

Therefore I would like to ask whether it is possible to do such a kind of 'fork' and if yes (which is more or less certainly the case), what should be done so that the new chain of transactions will be seeded ?

Of course we'll change the irc server & initial pnSeed values etc., but the bitcoin code is filled with sophisticated crypto so it seems to me that some other quite obfuscated values have to be changed in order to have a fully independent network. Could somebody indicate what variables have to be changed so that a new currency can be seeded?

Also please understand that by our tentatives to create a parallel currency (let's call it kybcoin for example) we do not want to, in any way, undermine the impact&value of the main bitcoin currency. On the contrary, we believe that an emergence of a new bitcoin-philosophy-based currency will add new spice in the game, since in the ideal case it would be possible to exchange bitcoins for kybcoins & vice versa...

which would be in the end, to the profit of all (we truly believe that bitcoin can lead to a nonzero-sum game economy)

Thank You very much for the time spent by reading (&possible reacting) to this message.

Re: What kind of cryptocurrency is easier to obtain?
by
Tanjima
on 07/05/2018, 04:19:18 UTC
Earning cryptocurrency as opposed to buying or mining it is attractive because you don’t have to shell out money in exchange for your tokens. This is an important distinction to make. When you buy cryptocurrency online, you’re exchanging your local government currency (example: the US dollar) for digital currency such as Bitcoin or Ethereum. And when you mine cryptocurrency, you typically have to purchase expensive hardware such as a graphics card or ASIC chip that will eventually (hopefully) pay for itself and then some. In both cases, you need to spend money to get your cryptocurrency. Earning cryptocurrency, however, has no capital investment requirements which is why it’s such an attractive way to build a cryptocurrency portfolio.

Mining pool political parties?
by
Tanjima
on 07/05/2018, 03:39:15 UTC
Curious if the separation of pools into political parties has started yet?

It's a win/win since the cut the pool takes is a way of funding the party you believe in, taking the blockchain in the direction you want.

The Bitcoin community has already fragmented into the anarchists seeking pure anonymity and the entrepreneurs seeking legitimacy through regulation.

Both sides could fund their operations with mining pools. Once the next halving hits I expect this to become the norm since the financial incentive will be reduced yet these people still have a desire to control the future of Bitcoin.

Re: Will cryptos be so volatile forever?
by

on 06/05/2018, 08:02:36 UTC
Cryptos and Bitcoin are profitable. I shorted BTC twice in the past 3 years and did well on that. I short USD by purchasing BTC sometimes and did well there. But I never invest more than I can afford to lose in either situation.

Volatility = profit potential.

Re: Evolution of currencies

Money isn't everything — but it's something we can't do without.

Has money existed in today's paper currency form since it came into use? No. It has gone through a long evolution since its inception. Before money came into existence, as early as 6000 B.C., Mesopotamian tribes bartered goods — meaning they were exchanged. You pay for eggs with a measure of grain, if you have a surplus of the latter.

Re: Is Bitcoin too complicated for ordinary folks?

The primary approach in dealing with bitcoin, is knowing the interest of a person and thyself. It will be easier for aspiring bitcoin users if they are really interested in learning and understanding its background, nature, system and just anything about bitcoin that can help them through time with using bitcoin. Most people focus on the way they see bitcoin, as a source of having privileges that would very much benefit them but not as a subject matter that needs to be thought of and learned properly making it somehow a difficulty in understanding it immediately.

The reason the price is increasing is complex because it's a global market. Broadly, there is a new found enthusiasm for this thing that's been in a rut for months. Read the headlines on Coindesk and you'll start to get the pulse for the market.

It also might happen on basing the hight amount of Bitcoin you try to transfer so there is a high transaction fees and vice-versa.
Before you also make a trade be aware of knowing their transactions fees instead you blindly make a trade.

Bitcoin gave me another hope about life. There are times when we are feeling wasted and wants to give up but before you give up, ask your self first if you already did your best. There are times that we will definiyely lose and people will ruin our dreams but that is not a reason to stop. Just like on my experience, I got scammed but after a few months, I gabe it another shot. If I gave up, I might still ne struggling financially.

Compared to gold and currency investment returns in the past five years, the currency's performance is far better than the so-called precious metals, gold year loss than 6%, the currency of the annualized rate of return is 155%. These rich returns show that bitcoin has excited investors about the prospect of putting money into such a new asset class.

Re: Does bitcoin pose a threat to banks?
by
Tanjima
on 27/04/2018, 03:13:37 UTC
However, I don't think Bitcoin or any crypto is at that point yet. Maybe in a few decades, but too few people accept it and only a few people are using it in comparison to the world population.
I am sure that crypto currency, if it gets big enough, would be able to bring some damage to banks because the returns could end up being stronger than what banks can offer. Also, banks offer centralization. If decentralization is the future, then it makes sense that banks are would be fearful.

Bitcoins are something totally unique in that they have a very strict increase in supply, and the blockchain is public. It serves as a world-currency that can easily be transfered across borders, but it has drawbacks like low transaction speed
