archive.org has no history of the site.  I think you'd have better luck selling it (or at least having the content valued) if you actually made the content available for potential purchasers to view.  Is there any advantage to parking it while you're trying to sell it?
You can view google cache history. I don't want to have to pay for anymore hosting unfortunately Sad

TattleCoin is for sale!

I no longer have enough time to upkeep the website. All content and the domain name is for sale. The site has a page rank of 4. Pretty high ranking on google. Number 2,3 and 4 for search term "Bitcoin Rumors". The site is currently parked until it gets sold.

Thanks,

Are we set for another rally after the European Conference?
I certainly think so.
I'd hold onto any coins you can get your grubby little hands on. Wink

You're a bit late, the "rally" is almost ready to start winding down.
The rally won't begin for at least two weeks.

Gold may be a commodity, but unless you're planning to produce something with it, it's just another currency.  Trading to gold directly reduces friction, but that doesn't increase stability unless you're planning to offer a long-term fixed exchange rate.
I don't think anything has a long-term fixed exchange rate :/

The person who is selling gold for bitcoins will still sell those bitcoins on an exchange for legacy currency so he can re-stock his bullion supply and pay his expenses/cost of living, so the net effect is the same.  Until that gold seller can re-stock his inventory by buying gold at wholesale prices using only bitcoin, and pay his rent, taxes and put food on his table using only bitcoin, the bitcoins will still need to be exchanged for legacy currency by someone in the chain.
But there will be a definite lag in the system before the value of Bitcoin takes a hit. What I'm trying to say is that the longer that lag is drawn out the less impact it will have on the market.

Hello,
I recently wrote an article about a new site offering a new way to cash out of BTC. I loved the discussion that went on in my last thread, so I'd like to open up another discussion about this site Coinabul.

http://tattlecoin.com/2011/fact-bitcoin-down-alternative-ways-cash-out/

Do you think that cashing out using gold would really keep the markets stable? I think that the more currencies, or in this case, commodities that get exchanged for Bitcoins the more stable Bitcoin as a whole becomes. I know several people are running arbitrage bots and for that reason I don't think Bitcoin will ever dip down too low. But hey, maybe you think something different! Let me know.

No we need to attract money launderers and tax evaders.

Probably lol.

Lots of resident aliens here in the states send money back home.  Often incurring huge fees or w\ large cash amounts risking their cash.

Teach those people bitcoin or do it for them and it'd boom

Bitcoin... En Español!

But there will be 33% inflation next year. So inflation is dropping.

Except that Bitcoin is at a 50% inflation right now.

Gold is also a deflationary currency and yet its price is skyrocketing.

But if people were mining gold faster than people were buying it, it too would be losing value.
Where did you get that statistic?

Gold is about to explode. There are plenty of investors shorting gold right now.

A lot of the people in Bitcoin are just treating it as an investment, but there are a lot of people, myself included, who have actually spent some coins on businesses that take Bitcoin. I honestly think the recent value drop has more to do with the fact that markets just change than anything. There's certainly been enough unrest in pretty much every other market the last couple years -- to expect that Bitcoin wouldn't experience some of the same is unrealistic.

Anything that makes investors flock to "safe bets" like government-issued bonds is going to hit Bitcoin to some extent because right now we simply have the fiat value set primarily by traders and speculators, and there is currently no real reason to buy bitcoins for the purpose of spending them. If that were to change the whole definition of the exchanges' markets could change as well.

I've used bitcoins to buy products as well. I think that all markets change, but you can find definite reasons for those changes. I totally agree with you on the last part though. There is no incentive to use bitcoins for online transactions yet. Almost all of the BTC businesses have predecessors that use USD.

Looks like you speaking the truth. Maybe once all the bitcoins are issued people might start spending them.
We only have 3 years to wait, right?

Hello,
I wrote an article on my site about why I think Bitcoins have been losing value over the past couple weeks. I think it all boils down to the fact that Bitcoin is a deflationary currency. Anyways, I'd love to hear what you all think!

And are they all named Linux?

Funny.  I like your site by the way TattleCoin, reminds me a bit of Valley Wag.
I've always enjoyed Gawker; so it's quite an honor to be compared to them.
Thank you, sir!

Re: The big news from BitConf 2011!

That there'd be Bitcoin conferences in 2012 shouldn't have surprised anyone so it doesn't really qualify as a "big announcement" in my book.

How interesting the 2013 cruise will be will depend a lot on whether it's a floating convention restricted to Bitcoin participants or whether they're just going to make a group booking on a normal cruise and try to hold a conference in that context.
Sarcasm, my dear Wink
I was merely pointing out, in a whimsical manner, that barely any real announcements came out of the Bitcoin Conference.

Hello,
I just wrote an article about the biggest news to come out of the Bitcoin Conference.
Tell me what you think  Smiley
http://tattlecoin.com/2011/fact-big-news-from-bitconf/

Personally, I was very disappointed in the conference. I think that there were a lot of big promises made, yet I didn't see much come of it. I think it's a good start but there's plenty of room left for the conference to grow!
