For beginners in careful participation in airdrop, easy way of knowing the airdrop scam: 1. Airdrop type sent 0 ETH 2. Airdrop type form 3. Airdrop by requesting to enter privatekey 4. airdrop type Sent 0.001ETH - 0.1 ETH 5. Check official twitter DM admin if he held airdrop.
it's some of the characteristics of scam airdrop be careful in using email do not use the primary email connected to the exchange.
Thanks so much for this information it will really help me as I've been struggling to weed out which airdrops are scams, are there any other factors that I could look at when determining whether an airdrop is a scam? or will this information provided be enough to differentiate between scams and legitimate airdrops ?

any form of market manipulation is considered illegal in any country as far as i know. and pump and dump is officially a form of "fraud" which is inflating prices through false and misleading positive statements, so that the manipulator can dump what he bought at a higher price.
Could not of said it better myself and I just read up on a new type of blockchain technology developed by a group by the name of Bitcoin Origin and they have some interesting reforms on how they would prevent pump and dumps through this new technology. They plan to achieve this by implementing a Proof of Ambassador system which will require investors to supply them with certain prerequisites like Proof of Capacity,Environment, identity, stake and community.
Excluding this forum which is great for answering any questions you might have for Bitcoins and Altcoins, There are a number of other sites I use to educate myself about Crypto and stay informed with the latest Cryptocurrency news. I have listed some pages below that will be able to help you gain a better understanding aswell as regular news updates regarding the Crypto world. Reddit is also a good and reliable source of information should you be willing to create an account.
DISCLAIMER I AM IN NO WAY PROMOTING THESE WEB PAGES, I HAVE ONLY STATED THEM AS THEY ARE HELPFUL TO ME.
A Coin is a Cryptocurrency which operates independently of any other platform an example of this is Ethereum whereas a Token like golem requires another platform in this case Ethereum to exist and operate.
To put it simply, an airdrop is what you could call a give-away of coins/tokens in exchange for a small effort. When a certain project or company in the cryptocurrency space wants to create buzz or hype around their product they launch an airdrop. This means that if you store your coins in a certain wallet or hold a certain coin you will get another coin/token deposited in your wallet for free. An example of this is that in 2017 holders of Ethereum got a certain amount of OmiseGo for free in a promotional effort for OmiseGo.
However we advise you to watch out with certain Airdrops, they are also methods for scammers to gain access to your data. Always check if these are actual airdrops on the official website of that company. Be careful when providing these companies with your personal details and never give information to these companies concerning your private keys.
With Kind Regards, The Anycoin Direct team
Thank you for that detailed explanation, as I was confused about that myself.

Re: Whats The Deal With All These NEW Threads Being Created by brand NEW members?
Just create a board for new members. You know it will have to be done sometime, so the sooner the better.
It's like Brexit. It was obvious from the very beginning that it would have to be a clean break with WTO rules, but the unicorns are trying to push as much money out of the country while they can.
Give us a couple of new member boards, and restrict newbies posting elsewhere. Lets rebuild Bitcoin Talk to take advantage of all the changes that are happening in the financial world. No thread starting until you have a post count of 5 would help as well.
Some of us 'newbies' have actually joined Bitcointalk to learn more. If we are restricted to 'newbie' boards, and we have questions to pose, how would we get the answers? It would be pointless having newbies answering newbies questions, and the more experienced users wouldn't be bothered by the 'newbies' boards.

Start at the bottom and work your way up.
I think you start with limited options, but the more you post and the more 'merits' you get, the more options you essentially unlock...? Correct me if I'm wrong..?
For the past few months, I've started giving away Bitcoin as tips. Being in a country where Bitcoin awareness is not that high, I had to make a short instruction manual in order for the people to actually know how to receive them. The manual is the size of the smallest bill for the country I am currently at. I give it out to different nationalities (Indians, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Filipino, Egyptians, Syrians, etc!) I'll probably make a translation to different languages later on.
Just a brief background, I currently work in a foreign country where tips are not actually added to the invoice. So I usually give them a small amount in fiat and hand this over to them.
Hopefully this will help raise awareness to countries where Bitcoin is not that popular! https://imgur.com/a/2dYyj
I think that's great because then they will DEFINITELY get their money. I used to work as a waitress, and the owners of the restaurant kept all my tips for themselves, which was very frustrating. I think this is a great idea to prevent something like that happening. Good job!
