I appreciate the effort, but came to the conclusion (years ago) that I don't really want to spend more time on "looks". My site loyce.club was never meant to be used on it's own, it was simply a place to dump data that I couldn't fit in a post. And it kinda got out of hand, with currently ~15 million HTML pages. If I'd ever change things, it should be by converting everything to a database system to make it much easier to change things, but since I still know nothing about databases, that's not going to happen any time soon. So much to do, so little time....
Amazing how you've managed to keep it consistent throughout all these years — and ~15 million HTML pages is just wow!

Nice collection, more and more participants every year
Can you tell where did you saw this discord channel and what repo they commit this updates? I see no activity on official github of epochtalk. If there's weekly or regualr update on the new software it is good news then.
It will come one day, just wonder who will take up the torch when theymos retire.
I hope so, but the last commit on its github was 3 years ago. I wonder if the devs will still continue or does the forum have enough budget to continue the development of that forum software? Or its just that devs doesn't have any interest to continue anymore.
Damn, I thought you were a merits source already. Anyway a bump here with support from my side.

Catching Up: The Year in Review!

I was away for maybe more than a year so I've missed ton of news, good and bad... especially the one for o_e_l_e_o Saw the ratimov drama. What else I've missed during that year ?
Feel free to add your own highlights or anything I missed in the comments below.
ChatGPT comes in handy when you want a TL/DR sum up of the overall conclusions. For those of you who are interested in a short summary of the last pages 225 - 231 of the court case documentation.
Quote
Summary of Overall Conclusions Dr. Wright's case that he is Satoshi Nakamoto heavily relied on numerous documents he disclosed, purportedly evidencing precursor work to the Bitcoin White Paper and source code, along with his own testimony. The status of these documents was pivotal in this trial.
Key Points: 1. Scale and Scope of Documents:
The Appendix details many documents purported to be precursor work or drafts of the Bitcoin White Paper.
Numerous documents were scrutinized for authenticity, with substantial evidence indicating forgery. Madden1's analysis suggested up to 400 documents might be forged, with COPA initially pleading 56 allegations of forgery and later increasing this number.
Additional documents introduced at the Pre-Trial Review (PTR) in December 2023 included 97 documents from the BDO Drive and LaTeX files. COPA focused on 47 forgery allegations at trial, and the court found all of them proved.
2. Mr. Madden's Analysis:
Dr. Wright’s explanations for document anomalies were unconvincing and failed to address clear forgery indicators. The court accepted Madden's findings of inauthenticity.
3. Extended Period of Forgery:
Dr. Wright forged documents over several years, starting in 2014, to support his claim of being Satoshi Nakamoto. This included altering documents related to Tulip Trust and Tulip Trading Ltd.
Forged documents were produced throughout this case, with new forgeries appearing as late as the trial period.
4. Classifying Documents:
Although there is a technical distinction between ‘forged’ and ‘inauthentic’ documents, all documents found inauthentic by Madden were effectively forged by Dr. Wright.
The court concluded Dr. Wright's attempts to prove he is Satoshi Nakamoto represented a severe abuse of the court’s process, involving deliberate production of false documents to support false claims across multiple jurisdictions.
5. Identity Issue:
Considering all the evidence, the court found that the case against Dr. Wright being Satoshi Nakamoto was overwhelming. There was no reliable evidence supporting Dr. Wright's claim.
6. Declaratory Relief:
The court found utility in granting the declarations sought by COPA, which clarified Dr. Wright’s lack of authorship and copyright in the Bitcoin White Paper. These declarations were necessary to prevent Dr. Wright from making future threats or claims based on these documents.
7. Further Relief:
The court deferred the decision on injunctive relief, to be addressed in a future hearing following the judgment hand-down.
Conclusion The court's extensive analysis found all allegations of document forgery against Dr. Wright proved. The evidence overwhelmingly indicated that Dr. Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto, and his claims were supported by fraudulent documents. The court granted declaratory relief in favor of COPA to ensure justice and prevent future misuse of the courts for similar fraudulent claims.
reputation and off topic would be appropriate for such topics.
No, not off-topic for forum drama. Either Reputation or Meta, and both of these have already been suggested and I'm pretty sure OP is thinking of one or the other.
Welcome back, TheBeardedBaby! Compared to years past, there really hasn't been tons of drama or really serious crap go down since you've been gone. Yeah, the Ratimov thing and Royse777 getting his reputation tarnished practically overnight. Vod came back twice to stir the pot about OgNasty and forum funds....aside from those things, I'll be damned if I can think of anything that stuck in my Teflon memory bank. It's been almost too quiet.
Seems like i can just pm you for all the TL;DR drama
Thanks guys, I'm thinking to have the thread moderated, then I don't have many options... Still under consideration...
Love you guys

Bitcointalk news ( more like drama/gossip thread) where to start it?

Hello guys
As you may know or not know or don't care... I wasn't quite active the past year, but I'm coming from time to time to read. There are quite some things happening like the Ratimov drama for example which I found out by chance. I really like to know what's going on here, but I don't have the time to go through 10 topics to find what I want to read.
That's why I was thinking about a thread collecting all the gossip and making it easy to adjust the clock to the current forum situation. Kind of TL;DR for lazy ppl
Where shall this thread find its home?

Re: Coinbase delisting BSV :)

Considering the fact that the bitcoin community is fighting against the faketoshi, this is a big win and I still think its relevant to this section.
Effective January 9, 2024, Coinbase will no longer support Bitcoin SV (BSV). Users are able to withdraw BSV funds until support for this asset is deprecated on January 9, 2024 at or around 12pm ET. If you fail to withdraw your BSV funds, Coinbase will liquidate any BSV remaining in your Coinbase account. Upon liquidation, your BSV will be converted to the then-equivalent market value of another supported digital asset and credited back to your account, minus any transaction costs. Please note, after accounting for transaction costs, and subject to market fluctuations, you may not receive any compensation when the remaining BSV in your account is liquidated. If you do not withdraw your BSV by January 9, 2024, you may incur tax liability or have other unanticipated tax consequences as a result of the liquidation or conversion and you are solely responsible for any taxes associated with transactions on Coinbase. If you do not want your BSV funds liquidated, you must withdraw your funds by January 9, 2024. Trading is not enabled for BSV and you cannot deposit BSV funds into your Coinbase account. Attempting to send BSV to your Coinbase account may result in a loss of funds. If you have any questions about how to send your BSV out of Coinbase, please visit Coinbase Help
