I will give the Gulden development team some credit after looking into this new release. Technically they might be the best in crypto but they have dreadful marketing, the marketing is so bad that you have to wonder if the entire community lives under a rock or is non existent and made up of bots.

True. Marketing is holding them back from the tremendous potential

Price must be below 2000 according to 22kilo and his team, I am buying more below 2000.

I put 5.6 btc on 2000, pray you are right! It will be the deal the decade.  Grin

Guldens new HD account system provides more then enough privacy needed in their latest 1.6 two weeks ago.

1 / 10th of the update quoted below from https://developer.gulden.com/blog/ . Oh and XMR still on a archaic codebase, Gulden also updated to 0.13 codebase in this release.

Accounts and Privacy

Gulden for Desktop now uses accounts which you can add to serve different purposes. We have 2 different account creation types.

* Normal Accounts
* Mobile Accounts – which enables the link feature between your desktop and mobile device.

The additional privacy comes in for both deposits and withdrawals.

* Gulden deposits:

Gulden for desktop wallets will use a different Gulden address each time you receive Gulden, this way the depositors will have no way of knowing who else is sending you Gulden to your wallet.
Note: A depositor can continue to use the address you gave them for multiple deposits.

* Gulden withdrawals:

With accounts you can separate your payments depending on it’s intended use without the recipients of your Gulden knowing what other transactions your doing from within your wallet.
eg. You can have 1 account for family transactions and another for business transactions.

Oh yes, Gulden exposes Poloniex exchange BIGTIME because they claim to add the best coins in development. Gulden proves this is not true, Poloniex only listens to it's special interests.

The new king!

Is this closed source? Last GitHub commit was a month ago.

You must be a coin developer or associated with a coins development. You wouldn't be posting here if you don't want to buy Gulden but still worrying about the details.

No need to listen to me just giving my opinion, buy what you want. Welcome to post about Guldencoin in above linked thread.

170 Million premine in block 1 is 50% of what currently is in circulation. At current rate premine is over $6 million.

Goodluck.
Dude that is for develope and projects and that NLG will never for sale on the market only here https://shares.gulden.com/

If I remember correctly the premine was originally supposed to be for distributing directly to the Dutch people, as it was launched amidst a sea other country shitcoins, with auroracoin being the most spectacular success/failure. Then at some point the dev(s) decided they would just cancel the airdrop and use the funds for "development". Now you're just running on pure trust that they won't change their mind(s) again and decide to use it just to line their pockets at some point. That's nice they have some get togethers with like 20 people, maybe they provide coffee and cookies, and it's nice that you trust them not to dump the premine, but I don't think it's unreasonable for people to not trust the dev(s) not to dump 50% of the available supply of what is nominally supposed to be a decentralized currency. Afaik there's no laws or regulations preventing it, it's just based completely on trust in what is supposed to be a trustless system.

The reality here is that none of the people bitching about the premine would have invested in the coin, EVER!!!!!, it's an excuse to make themselves feel better for missing out and deep down inside they want this project to fail. This is closer to the truth, right Mr jwinterm ?

It's half true, I guess. I certainly wouldn't ever want to be a part of a project with a huge premine, but I'm not trying to make myself feel better.

To be honest I'm not a fan of how often the word invest/investor/etc gets used on this forum. Who makes long term investments in a currency? Sure there are forex traders but I get the impression they are trading constantly. Have you ever heard of a forex person yelling, "HODL!"?

This board started as a place to discuss the development and use of Bitcoin the currency. I've done ok mining my helping out where I can with my four favorite crypto currencies - Bitcoin, Monero, Myriadcoin, and Huntercoin. None of these projects have a premine or ico, and they all offer or were the first to offer unique features.

Am I only allowed to comment about things I agree 100% with? Sorry for intruding on your safe space.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter what a few people on the bitcointalk forums think.  We a tiny % of the overall users some of these top 20 coins have.

Re: Litecoin hashrate vs price
by

litecoin has been sleep for too long until now, and for the mining, my last mining with my hardware is in july-august this year and i don't see that there is a good result as i only have small hardware. maybe if the other have big hardware with big hashrate, the result will be high and they can save it into their wallet and wait for the best price of litecoin.

but its too hard to mining litecoin for now, i think better to mining small diff but there is a good chance for us to get stable profit. i think the choice is like flo, maybe gulden is also good choice.

Scrypt has the following coins for larger dedicated miners:

Litecoin and coins that are merged mined with it including Doge, Via etc
Gulden - Standalone
GameCredits - Standalone

The rest aren't worth mentioning as I don't believe they have a great future besides the odd pump here and there and 99% of the new alternatives won't look at using scrypt. Miners should support these 3 projects as best they can or risk one of them moving off the algo.

Mine litecoin for solid income, mine Gulden or GameCredits for future profits.

I realized that they have remained strong in the market for some time, even without much hype, but there is all this premine stuff.
It may be a good investment at some point, but I'm not sure if this is the time to invest, because with the btc bull market in scene, the altcoins can have tough times for the next few weeks.

Yes, the coin must have a solid base of supporters outside the usual crypto trading community here on bitcointalk. This is the main difference between usage coins and trading coins. What this update will prove is that they more then a usage coin but have a development team
that is forward thinking and can innovate. I think it's the only coin that innovates and has the 2nd best usage outside of bitcoin, it's very rare to find both.

What they don't have is exposure in the current crypto circles and that is clearly seen with the few exchange listings it has.

After 1.6.0 Gulden will be dumped on and at this stage I would give up if I was the Gulden team and move onto a new coin. Time will show if first the 1.6.0 is good and 2nd if all the crypto world is about is making profit. Somewhere along the line the ideals behind crypto have been lost and the whole scene is taken over by greed.

Another Gulden won't come around for a long time. Lets see what respect is given if any.

Gulden is still ranked in the top 20, this is sign of respect to me. The Gulden team would be more then welcome to come work for Dash or litecoin. Dash has close to $1 million in funding and litecoin is getting a lot of investment and starting a foundation.  Why not wait to see what occurs after the 1.6.0 release, hell if the coin gets dumped to under 2000 satoshi I will be the first one to suggest they come to a coin that respects development and a community that is not in it for only bitcoin profit.

No disrespect to Dash , I think it's a great coin but look at every coin besides litecoin and doge who have a large user base, the market value is steady.

http://coinmarketcap.com/all/views/all/

Gulden devs should consider litecoin as they are looking to gain a reputation outside of China and having european developers join them could propel litecoin to ETHs value.

Unfortunately traders still hold the power with Gulden and 99% of all other alts and not the users, with litecoin you can clearly see it's not the case.

Bitcoin might get adopted, but I doubt Auroracoin will, why would they place themselves under the mercy of a non-citizen who premined at their expense?

Seriously Auroracoin  Cheesy I thought it was a scamcoin and died ages ago.

And you were right, the next bunch of scammers have just moved in now to try milk some more money out of it. The people running it now are a well know group of scammers.
Go ahead post something critical on their announcement  like asking them when they might actually do anything of any significance and watch it be deleted immediately.

No shit! These premine scams were all the same.

1. Anonymous dev, collect and dump portion of coins
2. Community takeover by same people that can't take the blame because they never started it and only trying to help out.
3. False promises and hype to try dump as high as possible.
4. Step 3 rinse and repeat.

Fontas claimed responsibility for this pump in a tweet.

Fontas is a moron and did NOTHING to add to this price.
Come join the community and you'll quickly see that this is not your typical crypto...

I will wait a few days to see if the price crashes.

It has become clear the big three cryptocurrencies are BTC/ETH/XMR who will join them next? Keep an eye out lads.

don't rule out LTC

likely the best to join THE FOUR
*which would be THE top 5 BTC, ETH, XMR, LTC, XRP

Poloniex is XMR and XMR is Poloniex. The reality is XMR would be nothing without Poloniex.

I am willing to have a debate regarding the above.

it takes max two hours to clone a "next generation" coin. or did you add any new features?
We are working on a coin mixing service as we feel true anonymity is paramount within a cryptocurrency. No, it was not added into the initial source code as it is still a ways off. We are also starting to work on a second generation light weight wallet. The coin is very fast as our intent was to make a coin so you could walk into Starbucks and buy some coffee within a minute. You have to start somewhere right?
So, after two years what is the situation with anonymity? What progress did you make?
I think firstly we need electrum wallet for fast and easy using.
People will use DGB more with electrum wallet at least i will use it Smiley

DGB does need a electrum wallet, the core wallet puts many people off.

I would recommend the devteam change the Electrum upstream to https://github.com/pooler/electrum-ltc and update, or if it isn't possible, refork from https://github.com/pooler/electrum-ltc and they should still be able to merge/commit many changes from the current DGB electrum repo.
You obviously know what you are looking at Protonn.
The old electrum wallet was started by a community member we’ve not seen for a good while now, so this project has pretty much been on a back burner forever. If you would like to pick up the ball and run with it you’d be very welcome in our community, judging by the requests here.

Maybe we could organise a community bounty for this??

WTF a community bounty? Jared got handed $250k investment to market and develop this coin. The community should not be giving anything.

The question is how much money have been left out of $250k investment? If there is none community funding definitely needed.

whether you are the people who invest $250k? if not you have no right to ask jared
do not be stupid as though he is responsible to you

The 250 000 never existed but was good for MARKETING the coin at the time. Jared needs to work another angle for the next pump.

are you stupid? who pay booth fintech event? who pay transport fintech traveler? who pay hardware? who pay hosting? and many other
do you thing this all is free? built this all without money? dont make me laugh dude

You should look at syscoin, they are destroying dgb in development with NO funding.

Sys coin 2.1 was supposed to come out in June, then July, then early September. Lesson devs are trying to sucker in as many people as possible

You can't blame the devs for wanting to take their time, we all know what is going to happen to the price when they about to release.
