Hi guys,

I have a friend of mine who wants to sell his three copies of Cat Cryptsy Automatic Trader (with their associated Cryptsy Accounts).

This is easy to organize - I just did it today with my own copy which I sold to a forum member here - within minutes all was up and running...

0.5 btc ''ono'' per copy - 1.5 btc ''ono'' for all three - please send me a PM if interested...

John.

I'm using bitcoin-qt for linux/ubuntu at the moment - what are people's thoughts on it? Is it the best/most secure choice for me or is there better out there ? Thanks in advance...

It is most secure wallet, the only disadvantage is you must synchronize the blockchain everytime you start bitcoin-qt. It might take few minutes if you didnt used the wallet for a week

Thanks Open4lies - that is the main thing I want to know really I guess - I want the most secure wallet I can get - so that if I DO start making some decent profits from my two trading accounts I have the wallet set up and good to go for sending btc back to it for holding or whatever - until I want to send it to localbitcoins or wherever for selling...

From what I can see it DOES look like BUYING and trading is the way to go right now rather than mining - unless you want to spend a fortune on hardware and electricity...

I'm 24/7 trading btc on one exchange and cross-trading all cryptos on another - where I am building (hopefully) my holdings of btc/ltc/xpm - you can trade these three against all the others and increase your holdings of them...

The only one I am not sure on long term is xpm - its definitely more stable than btc and ltc but I don't know if it is going to ''sky rocket'' upwards either Smiley

BTC-e is more faster that Crystsy, a bit...

I use cryptsy for 24/7 (bot) cross-trading of all cryptos hjesush - it seems to work pretty well but it is definitely a bit flakey - still a few weird error messages here and there and there are times when it seems to want to log you out all the time and you have to verify to get back in...

I just had an OKPAY deposit fail and money lost. Deposit was successful on OKPay side but BTC-E isn't recognizing any deposit. Support tickets are being closed without any reply from BTC-E. Its not just me either, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=307729.40

I liked using the exchange and had no trouble getting crypto in there, but it has been impossible sending USD and support is a no show. I think I'll be moving my business to Mt Gox.

I like btc-e and use it every day - but I really don't think USD in is an option - get your btc somewhere else - send it there (verifies three times and you KNOW its there) and THEN start trading...

I feel the same way about most exchanges - treat the initial loss as an ''arbitrage fee'' and go from there...

Yes I like it as well - very easy to use and smallest % for transactions - but deposit sometimes is hard Smiley

Yes eronyx - I have been using btc-e for 24/7 btc trading for a few weeks now and for some things I really think its the best - especially for automatic (bot) trading etc. The only thing that has got me nervous recently is a few of the stories I have heard. Personally though I have had no bad experiences really -oh - apart from getting banned from the trollbox once Smiley lol

You guys are getting me nervous here - has anyone else had experiences (bad) with btc-e ? I've not had any bad experiences so far - but that is where my main btc trading account is - and I have quite a bit (for me anyway) tied up there - the idea that they might just ''close my account for no reason'' is a definite worry...

Some damn good posts I think Smiley

I am far from an expert - but I know what I *think* my game plan is - first of all to do my first five posts as a newbie so I can then participate fully in the forums here/etc... Smiley

But - my overall game plan ? To be holding btc long term - I truly believe that once all the stuff going on at the moment - the ''pump and dumps'' - the whales trying to push btc down to nothing in value and then clean up - all the market manipulation and so on - after THAT, I still believe Bitcoin will find its level and that that level will continue to RISE - it *has* intrinsic value whatever greenspan or bernenke or whoever it was said a while back about it not Smiley

Its technology itself and its function - to me its an economic revolution - and if it keeps on going the way it is (and I think it will) it could also be the death of banks and banksters - or at least as we know them - and that would be a VERY GOOD thing Smiley

Just my two cents worth Smiley

I think the best advice is to buy bitcoin and hold - or if you feel you up to trading when its so volatile no reason not to try your luck... I am sure you can make money mining too but right now I am trying to hold bitcoin, trade where it makes sense and minimize my losses which is quite an effort considering how volatile/insane the markets are right now... Smiley Just my two cents worth Smiley I'm using two different bots - one on btc-e for btc trading (against the dollar) and one on cryptsy for trading all the crypto currencies there (to build my equity in BTC, LTC and XPM)...

XPM Markets ?

This is probably not the correct forum but as a newbie I can't really post anywhere else. I am doing a lot of crypto currency trading on Cryptsy at the moment - doing the BTC and LTC markets to try and build my btc holdings - should I throw XPM into the mix ? The first I heard of XPM is on Cryptsy and although I think its on btc-e as well I don't really know anything about it - but I did look at the graphs and it looks like its been quite stable over the last few months ? Okay - I'm a complete newbie and I have heard of this ASIC stuff quite a few times recently - is it something I can or should be trading in terms of crypto currencies ? John.
