Is merkle tree a must in any blockchain?
by
TheLuckyBastard

Some modern blockchains don't use the classic merkle tree or use something like DAG.

I was given a YellowPaper of a really exiting project for review (I am under NDA, so I can't tell the name now).
I loved everything but the absence of merkle tree rised questions.

Instead of the merkle tree they link new transaction to last transaction to adress and block number where it happened.
So they are kind of a hybrid between DAG and classic blockchain.
They justify it by dramatically increased speed of confirmation and transaction amounts per second.
All transaction history can be still retrieved from decentralized network storage and checked.

Do you think such proof of funds is valid?

This is a fun ICO and I wish you good luck. I myself and my Wife would like one day to own a level 5 autonomous car. Ellie cannot drive and that is her dream. I am thinking maybe some FERR Tokens can set her car fund up.  Smiley Smiley I can make some tweets in Chinese if that would help us earn some FERR TOKENS.

Sure, PM me your ETH wallet.

Re: Feedback on a game idea.

The use of BC won't make it a great game.

1. Concentrate on making a small great gameplay that will be core of the game. Make no quests or anything. Just the pure gameplay.
2. Try to advertise it to get free registrations and understand the cost of it.
3. Add payments for something premium to understand if people are willing to pay for your gameplay.

Making a successful game is about getting registrations cheaper then you earn from them within 1 year.
Games don't market  themselves on a pure idea now.

If you want to crowdfund it - you need a great name between gamers and awesome marketing skills.

Unfortunately marketing is often more important then the project itself now.

You have to manually add a token to see it in the wallet in contracts.

Join some bounty campaigns - they can pay you pretty well and give you more capital to trade with.

Re: SEC investor alert for ICO offerings

SEC issued a good document stating that they have limited power to control ICOs so use them at your own risk.
They clearly stated they will try to go after fraud ICO's but stated they can't guarantee any results.

An ICO is profitable in short-term when the hype about it is bigger then the hard-cap.
Mid/long term it's fully project specific like in classical venture investing.

I don't think they will go after investors now, but they surely will catch a couple of dev's to show an example.

Re: The Future of the ICO Ecosystem

As the time goes a website won't be enough to run a successful ICO.
A working prototype with a proven business model will be a must.
