And can funds be directly transferred back to an Australian bank account?

Yep, they can be!

We can take both deposits and withdrawals in AUD via our local Tradehill partner.

Thanks,
Adam - Tradehill

Look, the people you are after are the people you depend on. We cook your meals, we haul your trash, we connect your calls, we drive your ambulances. We guard you while you sleep. Do not... fuck with us.
We are legion.

Re: Backing up wallet.dat
by

So if I were to make 3 transactions a day, every day, I'd need to update my backup roughly every month, with no backup much older than that having all my Bitcoins in it.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Backing up wallet.dat
by
TheMagikarp

I've created a backup of my wallet.dat (in a TrueCrypt container, of course) and have it stored in 7 or 8 different places.

I read somewhere that if you go too long without updating your wallet.dat that it can become out of date and won't work properly anymore, something to do with only 99 receiving addresses being stored in the file. Realistically, how often should I update my backups to make sure they stay functioning? I intended on updating them roughly once a month. Is this not often enough, or is it more often than I really need to worry about?

I receive 1-2 payments a day, on average, if that makes any difference.

Ya! Maybe... It can be anything. But i don't know.

I just know: I've tested Bitcoin and it didn't work. So it's a Bitcoin problem.

The quintessential after this failture is, i don't try to integrate bitcoin-payment in our webshop, because the bitcoin-system doesn't seems to be trustworthy for me. A real pity.

It just clicked! You're trying to get someone to send you free Bitcoins.

Surely you understood the risk of sending money in the mail before you did so.

Mail gets lost all the time.

what's the difference between Alpha and Beta codes? don't they give you the same content?  I know for a while he said that Beta won't get you the game once it launches, but http://www.minecraft.net/prepurchase.jsp seems to say that it shouldn't matter anymore.
When the game was in Alpha, the ToS stated that if you made a purchase you would get all Minecraft content, present and future, including any expansions that might be released. By the time Beta came around, Notch had lawyers, and they made him take that part out.

You'll still get the full game with a Beta code, just not any extra content. To be completely honest I think development will stop the day that the full game is released, Notch seems really bored with Minecraft, so it doesn't look like those who bought the game in Alpha (myself included) will get anything extra anyway.

I don't understand why the anonymous don't sign their messages.  I'm not talking about a named signature, but about a few GnuPG signatures with no real name.

So at least we could make sure that each new message has be written buy the same people who wrote the previous ones.

So, to clarify, you're angry that anonymous is far too anonymous?

I'm not "angry".   I just think this movement is silly, since anyone could pretend to be part of it.
The thing about Anonymous is that it's a lot like Bitcoin; it's decentralised. There are no leaders and there's no "initiation" to become a member, so to speak. Anyone can claim to be a member and anyone can declare war in Anonymous' name. The success of each of their little vendettas depends on how many other "Anons" want to help them.

There is no doubt in my mind that this threat has come from some 15 year old kid who just found out about Bitcoin and thinks he's going to be rich.

That's the result after some days? Oh my...

So i resume: it is complicated and doesn't really work.  Cry
That's a rather obtuse conclusion.

The Bitcoin Faucet can only give out Bitcoins if there are Bitcoins in it to be given out. Right now it is empty, and thus cannot give out Bitcoins.

That's why you don't have any Bitcoins.
