I was just wondering what it means when my derp says 2e-8?

Here's an online calculator/converter that will convert from scientific to decimal notation.
http://www.easysurf.cc/scintd.htm

Using the second converter, it shows that 2e-8 converts to .00000002. Using my shortcut, imagine a decimal point where the "e" is, then move the decimal point the number of positions after the "e." Since that number is a negative 8, move the decimal point eight places to the left. If it was 2e+8, you would have moved the decimal 8 places to the right, giving you 200,000,000. Hopefully that makes sense.

Mine on. Heeeeere blocky block block. Drink more hooch. Eat more fancy meals.

I believe that the reason it took so long to get a block was because I was drinking cheap beer and eating pizza and leftovers. The day I splurged, we found a block.

As long as it's still mining, the issue is cosmetic. Flakey signal pin on one chip.

Good news! Thanks. Move along, move along. Nothing to see here.

I have a couple T808s that have been chunking along nicely for a few months. Recently while checking on them, I noticed one had the white lights on solidly, not blinking. I halted the mining and cycled the power. Upon restarting the mining, it appears to be mining well. The hash rate, hardware errors, and such all look to be within spec. Anything I should do or be aware of?

Thanks,

Does anyone know if there's a site/app/plugin that will send a notification (email, text, phone alert, etc) when a block is found by CK Pool? I've found sites that will monitor sites for changes, and a Python script made to monitor Slush Pool for blocks that could be modded to monitor CK Pool. Is there anything available now before I reinvent the wheel?

Neat! Do you mind if I fork this to monitor CK Pool?

Woohoo! And with that block, I'm now in the payment section. I've been mining here since late December, 2017, starting with 4 2Pacs, and added 2 Terminus 808s recently.

All these people with their Terahashes and Petahashes are really stealing my thunder. Haha. I welcome them, though, since that means more blocks more often.

If I'm presently in the payment section, could I get bumped out? I'm not in the top 100 fastest miners, so I must have been added to the payout section because of the number of postponements.

Thanks,

I've been happily mining with 4 2Pacs (since December, 2017) and 2 Terminus 808s (since April, 2018). While it's not much processing power, it's what I got, and I'm happy about it. I'll add more when I can, but it won't likely be in the TH or PH range. That's for the people with lots of money and solar farms. Smiley

This is the only place I mine. I started at Slushpool about 5 or 6 months ago, but quickly came to my senses and migrated to here. It's nice to see the pool growing.

I received my two Terminus 808 miners yesterday. One is hooked to a computer PSU and the other connected to a 12v brick I had laying around.

They ran happily overnight with default settings. Yay! Today I'm experimenting with settings. I also expect to ditch the brick and run both off the PSU once I get another PCIe cable.

Thanks, sidehack, for your innovation and perseverance in getting these to market at a reasonable price. Your support is also appreciated and curmudgeonly responses are entertaining.

Or it could be yet another "Windows 10 blows goats and you should use something different" problem, because Windows 10 blows goats and you should use something different. Not just for 2Pacs, I mean, in general. For everything.

This made me almost shoot soda out my nose. I work with Windows 10 every day, and I couldn't agree more. Thank you for the blunt, but hilarious advice.

At the moment my miners are all connected to an Ubuntu system I picked up for dirt cheap. It's possible to be a newbie, get a Linux system up and running, and then walk away for weeks without issues. Just check it occasionally to make sure all is ok.

If you're fine with this you can get your pod a lot faster....

I'm fine with that.

Hi all, just joined ckpool with my antminer s9.
What is the average time of finding a block with this pool?
Good luck Smiley

Welcome!
I joined in late December, 2017 and three have been found since then. One with a difficulty in the low 90s, one with a difficulty in the 150s, and another I don't recall. Hopefully that puts things in perspective for you.

I would advise folks who are interested to email Laura (at gekkoscience dot com) so we can get a bead on market demand. Only gonna have so many of these at the start and I want to know how to divide them up.

Emailed. Thanks for the heads up.

Should start manufacture this week. Once I have some tested and ready, and all the details figured out, we'll be go for sales.

This makes my heart go thump thump thump. Exciting news!

Mmmmmm.... Block. WooHoo!

I love the new data page (thanks, -ck) and webpage GUI (thanks, morktadela). It's a good Monday.

Also, I made it into the top 100 for the past 7 days, and got a 1 in the postponed field. That's quite an accomplishment for me, a relative newby hobbyist.

What does MMR stand for?

Measels, Mumps and Rubella. Haha

MRR is Mining Rig Rentals.

I like using MRR, even though I don't rent out my miners, because it gives good historical data on my hash rate and such.

...I guess on the bright side it should be easier to move up on getting paid if we find another couple of blocks.  tbh I'm here more as a hobby than to get paid at this point.  I need more hashing power...lol

I'm in the same boat. Hobbyist, but jonesing for more hashing power.

So how does one obtain 5+PH? Like I mentioned, I'm a hobbyist and the fastest stand-alone miner I've seen does about 14TH/s. Do they have a warehouse with hundreds or thousands of S9s on shelves? Are there other industrial mining machines?

well could be a warehouse of gear

or rental gear.

MMR

and  Nicehash   rent gear to miners

I got sick of watching the diff numbers go up. I rented 13.5TH for 14 hours. Come on, block. Block block block.

Dang. We got some heavy hitters swooping in on my little 2pacs like birds of prey on field mice. Up until yesterday I was steadily making my way up the postponed list. The last couple days the number of miners has increased, but my position has either stayed the same or gone down a couple positions. I'm all for adding more resources to the pool. Yay! Block block block. I just wanna keep moving up. Looks like I'll need to make another hardware investment. Or buy some rental time.
