Hi, new here, trying to shill my website haha, as it's open source and completely free (ad-free too). I put in quite some effort in this and think it may be helpful for people.

It's meant to be a clean interface to check your mining stats at a whim, especially designed for mobile in mind, to quickly glance at your payout amounts, and balance etc in a visually easy to digest way.

It's available now so I can gather feedback, as I'm still very new to web development and would love to growth with the mining pool hub community.

Hope this is useful to some! Greatly appreciated! Smiley

Any chance I can see the source for this?

Kano - It has been a while since I've checked here. I have been looking back in the code for the android app and noticed that the endpoint for seeing the JSON data is formatted as JSON data but the the content type is returning as text/html.
I know changing it to "application/json" may break existing apps including my own, but since I'm back and mining on the pool again and noticed this, I thought I would let you know.  Wink

I plan on making an update for the android app to handle both in the case that this situation is updated, otherwise it will continue to function the same. I figure it is time to give it a face lift and more options, time permitting of course.

The following:
 Content-Type:text/html; charset=UTF-8
Should read:
 Content-Type:application/json; charset=UTF-8

Code:
Request URL:https://kano.is/index.php?k=api&username=[]&api=[]&json=y
Request Method:GET
Status Code:200 OK
...
Response Headers

Thanks for the info, do you have it available for iOS?

Unfortunately I do not... Not until I can purchase my very own mac computer, because they do not allow development on anything but their operating system. This might be changing because they are open sourcing their Swyft language, but I haven't had a chance to look into that yet.

Kano, wanted to see how hard it would be to setup an email notification when a block is found, or shortly after that includes something like Ghash does. Would be nice to see so your not checking the stats page several times a day. Example below

Hello Miner

We have solved the block #354533 (25.2432 BTC) in 12 hours at 13783.91 Th/s and done 140637624683 total work.
Your shares: 86401760/25000048254 (0.35%)
Payout: 0.08724205 BTC

On that note, how about also getting an email when a worker has not submitted shares for say 5 or 10 minutes, that would be nice to get alerted from the pool. Not sure how much coding this would be but just wanted to put it out there. Maybe have a place to enter an alert email address which is different then your account email, so one can enter a SMS email address to get txt vs emails.

Thanks in advance!
Well there is a web site already that will send you block notification of the pool.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.msg10261674#msg10261674

And one (or more?) people created apps to do that also.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.msg11091187#msg11091187

I'm not sure if either of them have idle worker notifications, but the pool API includes when the last share was submitted for each worker in the API "work" reply.

Block notifications and idle notifications are on the todo list, but I've avoided doing them so far for a reason.
The main issue is that they represent bulk email.
In the last few years it's become ever so easy to have an email server blacklisted due to sending out email and then it can be up to days to clear it up and remove it from the blacklistings.
The worst example of that is yahoo that doesn't have a way of removing a blacklisting - my mail server was blacklisted there once due to someone who uses my mail servers getting a virus and sending out spam - once we tracked it down and stopped it, I of course had to then remove a bunch of blacklistings - but there was no option to do that with yahoo and I ended up telling everyone who uses the mail server that until further notice assume you can't send email to anyone on yahoo - which IMO was not really that big an issue since yahoo isn't very big any more - but still annoying.

Try the above (links) and send them a donation if they can do what you want - or ask them to add a "lastshare" notification Smiley
Everyone has a smartphone these days ... so the App would probably be your best solution if it can do both.
I'll PM them both a link to this message also.

Hi there!

I am the creator of the Android App: CK Pool Stats (Kano)

The app can currently notify you if a block has been found.
The app can also notify you if your hashing speeds has dropped below a certain amount.

I have been very busy with real life and there are more features coming! Just much much slower, especially since the app has been working as intended.
Let me know if you have any questions or feature requests, I'll try to push them out when I have more free time on my hands!

Had a close look at the block we just found an hour ago ...
Well done TheOneJester ... been hashing with ~1.14TH (average for just the past 2 weeks) and found the block - good luck for you and everyone on the pool Smiley

Edit: heh xZork, you just beat me to it Smiley

Edit2: he's actually beaten the record lowest total diff submitted since he started mining to find a block.
The record was SP20winner who submitted a total of 1.306G and has the block he found that won the SP20
TheOneJester is now just under that with a total of only 1.218G diff submitted - great luck!

Well done, probably a single S5?  Gives us little guys hope.

That's why I'm loving it. Our hash does matter!

I looked this morning and realized that it was my little miner that found it! (It indeed is an S5) Cheers \o/

It is a block party! I'll bring the beers!

Not sure what the server returns as the last block found after a reset, but the app just checks the last known block found stored on your device compared to the servers last block found when it checks for an update.

SO you can run into a few issues.  Shocked

If you set your update interval to several hours, and the server actually finds multiple blocks between checks it will only report 1 block found.

Also if your phone happens to pull api data when the server is offline/restarting it will report 0's for all the hash rates. Hence the rate warning. (When I get a chance to learn about ckpool and how it handles these exceptions, I can also handle these exceptions more gracefully in the app.)

I'm also still working on all the promised features, but several other projects are also keeping me busy.

Cheers and party hard!

Just a curious thing I have noticed recently:
The payouts appear to be lower than they used to be (1/5 - 1/4 less than before). Is it cause people are randomly throwing hash power to the pool? I thought PPLNS doesn't really reward short bursts of hashpower?

I have been giving consistent hashrate for a month+ now and I don't see an increase in Invalid hash percent (0.149%)? And the pool rate average does not appear to any more than before.

If I did a strait conversion from my last 7 days block conversion of (0.057%) I should roughly see 0.01425 BTC (0.057% x 25BTC) per block, which is consistent to previous payouts if you consider the average before was 0.0139 BTC. Yet the last three payouts received averaged 0.0113 BTC. It only is about a 20% difference so I'm not extremely worried, I'm just curious about how it all works! Cheesy

Please help me learn more about cryptocurrency and mining!

Had a rough day at work.  Angry

I was finally able to upload the update to the Android Play store tonight. You guys should see it rolling out to your devices/play store in a few hours from now.

CKPool Stats

Future Plans:
  • Add "kano" to pool name  Wink
  • Solo CKPool (ck-'s pool?) capabilities.
  • Code optimizations.
  • Other user requests if any.

This app has really helped my addiction of checking http://kano.is every few minutes to see if a block has been found. Now my phone will tell me if a block is found Cheesy

I have a suggestion.  Currently the app has one notification icon for if the pool found a block and/or if your hash rate drops below the threshold you set:
http://i60.tinypic.com/ixa261.jpg

I suggest keeping that icon for when the pool finds a block, but use a ? version for when your hash rate drops.  It's disappointing to get a notification only to find out it's low hash rate (turned my threshold way, way down, basically an on/off toggle, recent restarts were setting it off left and right).

This is doable, I'll add it to my list Smiley
Perhaps I'll keep the exclamation mark for rate warnings, but change the block found icon to the bitcoin symbol.

I found a bug messing with my app.

Upon saving settings for the first time, the app will crash. (Quickfix: Relauching the app works)
I'll be updating the app with a fix for this ASAP.

Otherwise, my app has been notifying me about my hashrate dropping for an hour or two due to server down time! It all works wonderfully! Smiley

Also thanks to Owen who reported the issue to me Cheesy

I plan on adding a toggle for Kano or ck- pool endpoints.

I tried inputing my solo ckpool btc address, but the app didn't recognize it.

I input my kano ckpool api information and that data came right up.

An icon in the top task bar to show it is running would be nice.

Looking forward to solo support and the toggle function.  Thank you!  Do you have a donation address?

Sorry, its not yet ready for solo ck pool yet.
I will try to get it ready by this weekend Cheesy I'll keep you updated

Donation address is in the app, or:

Nice, will the update feature api support that you mentioned?  Definitely need to show the pool as Kano ckpool.
Looking forward to using this.
The app can now handle api access. You will need an API key to use the "Block Found" notification feature.

I plan on adding a toggle for Kano or ck- pool endpoints. (Unfortunately that means I'll need to stop mining on Kano so I can actually test the features.)
Damnit guys, you are gonna make me need to be active on two different topics? Perhaps it's time to start my own thread. I like bumping kano's thread though

MMM it works... How did I find out?

I'm actually quite happy about this app now.
Setup and forget! It will warn you if your hash rate drops below a threshold, and it will notify you if a block has been found.

Future Plans:
  • I will try to get this to function for CK's solo pool.
  • Huh

Will be updating on Google Play in the next few hours... Cause that how long Google Play takes Cheesy

solo ckpool is -ck's solo mining pool.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=763510.0

kano.is is ckpool with my ckdb backend and web for pool payouts and management.
My workers.php and address.php spit out the same ckpool text file as ckpool generates on solo
- since they are both virtually the same ckpool - but I wrote php scripts to see the ckpool user and worker file and do certain checks on the request

Thanks Kano!

If this is the case, I could probably modify the app to work for -ck's solo pool on the next iteration. I'm still waiting for a block to be found to verify that my latest changes work as intended Smiley

A new update to the android app is being tested... by me!

People with accounts will now be able to use their API key + their username on the app.

With the additional information, you can be notified when a new block is found.
I'll post here after doing some more tests Cheesy

Have you thought about providing the same app for the solo ckpool?  Since there are no users, only btc addresses to mine to, it would work for everyone.  I'd use it every day for the solo pool.

Sorry mikestang, you are going to see this twice haha

Quote from: TheOneJester
I'm still a bit new to the bitcoin mining community.  Wink

When you say solo ckpool do you mean when you just name your worker the BTC address to have the pool send shares to?

If that is the case the app already handles that behavior, but if you mean something else please enlighten me!

What, No IOS devices included

I wish I could develop for iOS devices!

The issue:
To develop for Apple products, I need an Apple computer. I don't really have the extra funds just to buy a new Apple computer right now (especially to develop for apps that don't make me any money). This leaves me with a semi-bitter taste in my mouth since I would love to develop for iOS, but Apple make it costly for developers to start developing for their products.

TLDR: The entry cost into developing for iOS is too great for me atm.
