Re: America's new debt ceiling - $19,600,000,000,000

USA is going to get wrecked very soon... I'll be looking forward to the 20 trillion debt mark.

We'll see that happen before Barack Hussein Obama leaves office

The federal debt has already grown more during Obama's first six years than under all previous U.S. presidents combined
the number of americans receiving food stamps remains 45% higher than when he first took office.

With obamaconomics, yes we can!!

As most has said, it is not an issue
several places already show values in mBtc and as the price goes up, soon enough we will be calculating in satoshis as opposed to full BTCs

Think of commodities, aluminium is priced in tons but gold is priced in grams

then open bazard will be the thing for it, because i doubt ebay will ever take bitcoin as a means of payment, they are kind against it

agreed

ebay won't take btc anytime soon as it competes with paypal, which until recently were the same company

those who want to sell and buy with btc will slowly migrate to new platforms like bitmarkets and openbazaar

Re: Has Wired discovered the real Satoshi Nakamoto? (.. this time)

Then there is the fact of potentially 1M BTC stashed away until 2020, which just convinces me more of that which I've said all along....that one day Satoshi could, and might, pull the rug from under us all.

I don't follow. Satoshi's (arguably) 1.1M BTC is only ~7% of coins currently in existence. Blowing them out might tank the price down to near-zero -- for at least minutes. It'd be probably back to at least 50% value within a day, 75% within a month, and 200% within a year, as the market no longer would be factoring the possibility into EV. How exactly is that 'pulling the rug out'?

The price would tank to near zero before even 1/3 of that stash is sold, considering all the existing buy orders.
That would deal a deadly blow to the market and recovery would be hard when people know that SN still has plenty of coins to dump

Satoshi seems like a very logical person and dumping his stash like that would be an extremely illogical decision. I can see him slowly selling off part of the coins, which wouldn't negatively impact the price

Somebody dumped --> buy-wall at 2000 sat is gone.

LOL now even the angel investors are in the red Cheesy That was fast

Compare the price trends of BTC and NoKoin and it is clear that whoever still holds nokoin is banging their heads against the wall

Nokoin supporters (whatever is left of them!) like Dart and Torrgeek are too embarrassed to show up here again... there are not enough palms for those faces!

By bad! Divorced.

Nope, Ramona Watts is his current wife.

Quote
Ramona Watts is Craig Wright’s wife, a director at his company DeMorgan, and a recipient of Wright’s apparent email from Satoshi@vistomail.com. Reached by Gizmodo at their home in an moneyed suburb north of Sydney and asked about Wright’s role in creating Bitcoin, Watts at first only smiled, shook her head, and began to close the door. When asked if Wright was the inventor of Bitcoin, she smiled coyly again and shut the door.

He also happens to have a Master’s degree in Mathematical Statistics

Very interesting

That's quite an interesting read, more detailed than Wired

So apparently Craig sold 1.1 million BTCs back in Sept 2011 for $100,000 and was trying to form a secret Bitcoin trust in the Seychelles

If you blame Bitcoin ... then you must also blame the US $.
Mexican Drug Lord home after being raided https://imgur.com/a/y62Xa

Thats right, thats BILLIONS of US $'s, not Millions.

22 Billion USD in cash stored in a closet LOL.

This humble man had enough to buy in cash all Bitcoins in circulation plus every other shitcoin ever created and still have plenty of cash left for basic life necessities such as gold plated AKs and lion pets.

You don't find trezors or paper wallets at drug lords' homes after a raid, just good old USD cash

Most participants know it is a scam. But they think they can get back the money before the scheme collapse. They are not the last one to lose.

It does seem so

Even with all the warnings posted everywhere, many still seem to be willing participants of this hot potato game hoping to profit at the lost of others

Remember that angel investors bought nokoin at half the presale price??
that is why spyware-pig needs to keep the price above 0.00002 for now

The fact that there has consistently been a buy wall at that price, now at 25 btc, supports that theory

they are giving it one last shot this month by adopting nokoin for 2 obscure useless websites owned by the founders, hoping that it might attract the naive buyers they need to start offloading that vast reserve of coins.

it is going to be yet another embarrassing flop as barely anyone will be stupid enough to fall for it and in few months the coin will quietly die off

Karpeles in Jail.

Josh Garza being prosecuted.

Dan K next?

Dan Kaufman was sued by the government twice before so he tried to cover his bases better this time by employing all those dodgy offshores and strawpersons for responsibility and tax evasion.
Not my area of expertise, but that doesn't seem to be FATCA compliant, Dan is after all a US citizen
plus the whole blue sky laws mentioned by Gekko

Even if Dan Spyware-pig doesn't end up in jail, he already secured his place in the Crypto Crooks' Hall of Fame, right next to Karpeles and Garza.

Re: (POLL) Which wallet do you think is best with the best features?
by

I agree with you on the mycelium part, I also voted mycelium 'cause of its great feature. I also like the fact that its on my mobile phone (android) and I can bring it anywhere I go. They have added usd accounts and I find it interesting, I am skeptical about it though. Overall, best wallet for me so far 'cause I used it on a daily basis and never encounteree big issues so far.

+1
Same experience here
I also have Core running in another computer that is always on, mostly to help the network

for most users, it doesn't make that much difference which one of the main wallets you use

Re: Ethereum is the future of crypto, bitcoin is not.
by
TibanneCat
on 30/11/2015, 13:02:48 UTC
Bitcoin is Nr.1 crypto in the world, Ethereum is the altcoin, which do not have enough popularity - just check the altcoin using websites. Even Doge is much more popular  Wink

Ethereum was not able to live up to all the hype that was surrounding it
the lack of real developments is reflected on its price now
In terms of adoption you are right, Doge is way more popular but ETH has more speculation going on and more serious companies looking to adopt it

Ethereum does have more innovations than 99% of the altcoins out there and Microsoft Azure implementation might give it a big push forward, though I wouldn't hold my breath for that

BTC will the number 1 for the forseeable future and if ethereum expects to gain the traction it wants, it will have to incorporate BTC as the payment coin and use ETH just as blockchain transaction gas

Any altcoin that is purely trying to replace BTC as the world's cryptocurrency of choice is bound to fail

Don't know what you're all complaining about. I never spent a Satoshi on Neucoin and received 7,500+ coins for surveys. Currently estimated at about $60.00 USD. Basically the best surveys I have ever taken. I put 1500 grow in a 3-month growth account which will then be invested immediately into a 5-year growth account. I cashed out the rest for a pretty penny ( over 0.1 BTC ) .

So I am liking Neucoin so far.

You got nokoins for free but those who bought it at presale already lost half of their investment

and those who got it for free had to provide all sorts of personal details
everyone following this thread knows about nokoin founder's notorious past with spyware.

This coin has been riddled with problems since day one:
coin centralization, rampant hyperinflation, buggy code, zero utility, heavy censorship, undelivered promises, shady offshores, and the list goes on, all detailed in the pages of this thread (notice the countless 0 day sock-puppet accounts created by the founder)

Just 2 months since launch and this shitcoin is already on its death bed, even most of the team members already left because they don't believe in it anymore
Do you honestly think it will be around in 5 years? cash it out while it is still worth something

You do realize that the actual Bitcoin Black Friday is not even related to Amazon? There are a lot of merchants lining up and we can start buying things up soon. Here's the actual website.

Thanks for the link
I didn't realize it is the 4th already? completely missed the previous ones.

Anyone remembers if they had any good deals going on last year?
Or what kind of stuff was on sale?
