Re: Should trading bots be banned?
by
TimeWatch

On bitcoin exchanges, such as Mt. Gox and Bitstamp, there are multiple bots that buy and sell bitcoins at the same time cluttering the markets and the rate of bitcoin. The purpose of these bots is to gain profit, so traders will get more more tempated to start to use some kind of homespun trading bot. What will we see in six months? War of bots, that rally the rate of bitcoin and make markets completely volatile? That defintely isn´t good for the arising bitcoin ecosystem. So if the bitcoin exchanges want to be trustful, the bots should be banned, or should they?  Huh
If they were banned I am sure the price is gonna fall down to the floor.

Re: Please stop with mBTC, microBTC, ...!
by

Just use BTC or satoshi (0.00000001) like in:

I just bought a car for 10 BTC!
The new Final Fantasy game will cost only 15000 satoshi!

Using mBTC, uBTC, μBTC is just unnecessary, sounds like a different coin and it will confuse a lot of people.

Coinedup and a few other sites are guilty of using mBTC.

1 satoshi is the smallest unit of BTC that's all people should have to learn. If you want massive user adoption you have to simplify things.
I guess the term satoshi make it more clear than the other uBTC or fuckBTC thing.I don't understand what does that mean

Re: Bitcoin as an Ideal Wins. Bitcoin as a Concept Fails.
by
TimeWatch
on 07/09/2014, 08:17:07 UTC
I ideal of a bitcoin that you can spend across the internet is a most beautiful concept. However, the technology behind the concept fails it. Excessive usage charges - I don't get charged each time I use my debit card. Security - my bank guarantees my funds even if they screw up. Speed - it takes seconds to withdraw cash or process a payment by Debit/Credit card. No confirmations needed. My money is accepted around the world at almost each and every merchant - I tried to buy a basket of goods last week with bitcoin and the Marchand couldn't be bothered. So I left. See other thread. No one will ever use or accept bit coin until these problems are addressed  immediately.
Bitcoin is still evolving on it's own,no financial elites have control over it.I think bitcoin is both conceptually and ideally perfect online currency while you hate the control over your money from others.I have no problems with the confirmations timing and soon enough bitcoin is gonna be accepted at millions of places than you can imagine.

"Twitch has been acquired by Google, leaving many forum users asking the obvious question: If Twitch.tv accepts Bitcoin and Google owns Twitch, doesn't Google accept Bitcoin?" Smiley
Anything that generates profit and many people's usage is acquired by the companies like google.Twitch is now a product of google company and Google itself is a search engine.

I'm writing an article for CCN on how you can start using Bitcoin. As this is meant to help new people get started in the Bitcoin community, I'd like to hear what you would like to know about this topic. Please post your questions in this thread and I'll work to answer your questions in my guide. The link to my article will be posted here once it's been published. Thanks for your help!
You could just ask them to Google. How does that sound?JK
They could startup by buying or offering their services or working for bitcoins.Getting paid in bitcoin is a good way to start I guess.Another be buying it for dollars.I wouldn't personally recommend someone to startup bitcoin from mining it's a hard deal rightnow. But can do mining on altcoins there are many out there and believe me they are gonna make you money as well and you can easily switch them with bitcoin from exchanges like btc-e.com.

Glad you ask.

How can you guarantee the finalisation of trade if you don't escrow bitcoins?
We check all the bitcoin transactions using our bitcoind node and DB that we created from bitcoind database (similar to blockexplorer or ABE).
The user need to register his bitcoin address and provide a proof that he really is the owner of the address.
He can provide the proof by signing a message  using a private key belonging to that particular bitcoin address.
Next we simply check the transactions in blockchain and pair them to trades on BitStock exchange.

Why sellers should send bitcoins after closing a trade if price of BTC rise?
Good question. We solved this by something that we call a "refundable sales deposit".
The seller needs to deposit a "refundable sales deposit" on his/her BitStock account to be able to sell bitcoins.
If the trade is closed and the seller suddenly decides not to send bitcoins, then this sales deposit is withdrawn from his account as a penalty and deposited to the buyer.
The seller has strong incentive to really send the bitcoins. However if for some reason  bitcoins are not sent then buyer will receive the sales deposit as indemnity.
You can find detail explanation here https://www.bitstock.com/info/selldepositrules.
Nice explanation done on the process here hopefully you guys accept dollar in near future. Many people would use your service
