Re: Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht Sentenced to Life in Prison

However, nobody was hurt by Ross and his DPR activities. At least they haven't come forward to suggest they were hurt. Actually, it is the other way around. A bunch of government people hurt Ross by stealing his property, and by blaming him for hurting people who never came forward with even a scratch (hearsay). They, the government people, should be sued to the max for hurting Ross and stealing his property.

Smiley

It's arguable that people weren't hurt and the US gov will certainly be of the opinion that he hurt those who he supplied drugs to, but there's also the murder for hires that if were true would have ended up with someone potentially being killed and if Ross had the capacity to order hits would makes him a bad person in my view.

On a related note what has happened with Blake Benthall? Haven't heard anything about his trail for ages.

Crystal Palace vs Sunderland vs the pick today?

game is not very interesting, so I think today there is no guess scores Smiley

In your opinion it is not very interesting but when there's not many big games on its usually smaller teams that get chosen as has happend plenty of times in the past.

this is why centralization is dangerous especially if combined with bitcoin where there is no regulation, you get the usually "i was hacked all funds vanished"

bitcoin should only work with decentralized system for anything

This can happen with fiat too. Inside jobs are exclusive to crypto but the currency being digital makes it easier to move and blame on hackers especially in such a young industry without much regulation and many people putting all their faith in certain companies.

Re: Is Bitcoin 'real money' to you?
by

Bitcoin is real money to me. In fact, I would say bitcoin is the realest money even over fiat and it's certainly the most fair and reasonably created one. Central banks just being able to print more on a whim seems like the very definition of unfair not to mention corrupt.

Re: Buying Bitcoin was a worst decision of my life

How many of you can admit that buying Bitcoin was a worst decision of your life? I can. I'm approximately -50% in fiat funds now.
Sooner or later some type of bank chain or coin will come and gain mass adoption - while bitcoin still remaining a geek coin
to buy weed.
I know this forum is more like a cult than a information channel what comes to honest opinions but I know there's others
on this forum who feel the same, almost all of us. Don't let your cult believer ego come in the way.
The idea that Bitcoin is going to be used as a currency instead of the investment tool or storage of wealth that all of wallstreet is flooding dollars into may not be the best thinking.

Why can it not be used as both? A currency whos value rises over time like a defaltionary currency should would be a great thing for everyone.

Warning, extremely hillarious

"Extortion request: DDoS attack"
Got the same mail. But my ransom is only up to 5 Bitcoin at the moment Smiley

It's even the same Bitcoin address.

Is it definitely the ddoser? Could be just some opportunist from here who knows that its happening and is trying to get lucky.

does it guaranteed if stuna pay the attacker

he will stop ddosing? i thought PD security is very strong..hope this issue got resolve and never comeback again

Of course it wont. All it will do is show a weakness and other people will then start attacking if they think they can get money. Its like feeding pigeons or cats. Do so and more will appear out of nowhere and come back the next day with even more.

Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin?
by
Towlie
on 11/09/2015, 15:21:03 UTC
Probably the best way to grow your Bitcoins is to save them and wait for about a year. By then the price will probably have gone up by then and you will have a substantial amount of money.

A year isn't long enough. People said that last year and look where we are now. To see big gains again people will probably have to hold 3-5 years maybe even a decade to see possibly huge returns. Bitcoin isn't going to enter the mainstream over night.

Re: Worst mistake you did with Bitcoin?
by
Towlie
on 11/09/2015, 14:48:56 UTC
The worst mistake I did with Bitcoin is playing gambling and lost almost 6 BTC just in minutes.Gambling is addictive and in the end it let you without money. This is biggest mistake I did since I started using Bitcoin.

I wouldn't gamble with any money especially not bitcoin. Would prefer to hold. I;m not sure what my biggest mistake is. I guess everyone says they should have bought more but the profit wouldn't have been that good for me as the price currently stands.

I don't disagree that the war on drugs is stupid and utterly futile, but Ross is still a criminal in the eyes of the law with money laundering and facilitating the sale of drugs etc

That may be true but lots of people are criminals in the eyes of the law but that doesn't mean the laws aren't wrong and they should be changed. Why can American presidents get away with war crimes and murder but nothing happens to them?

I've been working for the banking industry for 5 years.
These people are clueless about IT, their brains are stuck in 1980's
There will be no corporate adoption, only a bloody revolution.

I think banks will adopt bitcoin blockchain technology eventually somehow, but I don't think they will use bitcoin. I think they can already see the benefits of doing so.

Re: what you like best in Bitcoin ?
by
Towlie
on 13/08/2015, 08:46:35 UTC
The thing I like most is it's potential. It has the potential to be a worldwide borderless currency. It has the potential to save people illions in fees from the remittance market and even online shopping. It has the potential to rival corrupt fiat. It has the potential to be a currency that grows with its own interest. Now only if that potential can be realized.

some body plz help me to purchase bitcoins

Are the only options prepaid or debit? Make a thread over in the currency exchange section and I'm sure you'll be able to buy some with a pre paid card. You could also look on localbitcoins.com and try find someone locally who will sell for cash.

I guess any celebrity getting on board is good for publicity and adoption but I think the best would be one that actually knows or understands bitcoin and is a fan of it not just because they can make money off it.

Re: Bitcoin Wallet Security

One of the biggest problems with bitcoin is security.

I would like to see developed a new Bitcoin Desktop wallet that gave the option to its users of enabling 2FA security.

Yes, they need 2-factor possibly even three. People often complain about blockchain.info but if you have 2-factor and second password set up your coins are likely more safe than if they were just on your desktop.

How does it feel to spend bitcoins and soon after the price goes up?

I'm the opposite. I'm dissapointed I don't get the chance to spend them just after the price then crashes back down again  Cheesy.

Bitcoin wouldn't die but this place has definitely helped promote bitcoin. It's also a great place to find information and also promote or have a base for your bitcoin business.
